I am so mad! I faithfully watch ER and missed Thursday's premiere. I was traveling for business and will be again this week :-((

I have been looking at the discussion boards and trying to catch up. Sounds like Sam did the only thing she could.

I wonder why NBC can't post the episodes for viewing like ABC does online?

I'm trying to give ER another try. the premiere was good, but Sam shot him while he was sleeping - not in eminent danger - could be a problem.

Plus, there are no witnesses. She can just say he woke up and caught her trying to escape, so she grabbed the gun and shot him in self defense. He has a long criminal history, a history of abuse, and he had kidnapped and held them against their will. Who would even question her?

I couldn't believe she didn't immediately grab the gun and shoot him, instead of going to the car and coming back (after all, it is just TV). She probably should have just shot once, tho. Odd that she didn't react to the recoil.
Was the actor playing her son, the same one as previous seasons? He looked a lot different than I remember. (And yes, "you go, girl").

I hope nothing happens to that baby. Both Abby and Luca have had more than their share of heartache.

She got in the car to escape and thought about what he had said about how they must always be together. Given that he had kidnapped her son, I think she did the only thing she could to assure their future. I am sure there will be some legal wrangling just to make things interesting but I bet she deservedly walks in the end.

The baby better make it, I don't thinK I could stand for them to lose him.

I agree, you go Sam. I think she realized that unless she shot him that her and her son would always be in danger and on the run.
If the baby dies, I won't watch any more. For a moment I thought Abby was going to end up dying because of the blood loss. But I wonder if Abby and Luca are going to be angry at Sam because it was her ex that brought on these events.
And how is Jerry going to do two shows? He's also in the show, Men In Trees, as the bartender. I thought for sure that he was going to be killed off from ER with the shooting so he could do Men In Trees. Maybe they have a different shooting schedule so he can do both? You go Jerry, making you some MONEY!

I'm happy to see though that they made it very realistic for Abby not being able to see her baby in the NICU and using the cell phone to see pics of him. With my first born I couldn't go see him for the first 24 hours because of the Mag so DH took the video camera and took video of him for me. And my most recent baby I was also on Mag so DH used our digital camera to take pics for me. Scenes like that are still hard to watch but at least they kept it real.

I think they will go for the tragedy angle with Abby and Luca. I just don't see them living happily ever after, this season.

No, they got a new actor last season, who IMHO, is much worse.
