Who wants to plan with me? mid Nov - mid Dec - We're up to 110! WOW!

Hello everybody. We are planning for Nov29-Dec7 and I am soooo excited. I am abit worried about Pop Warner though. The last time we stayed at POR and really loved it but dont want to be faced with all the Pop Warner kids if they end up staying there. So, we are thinking of CBR. Anyways, does anyone have advice?

Add us to the list! Well, we're hoping to go from 11/24-12/4, but it all depends on finances...wish us luck! :yay:

Title pretty much says it all! Who wants to plan a late November/early December trip with me? We can keep each other up to date with changes to park hours and the like.

Count us in....ASMu Nov 26-Dec 4. Just waiting for "free dining' or a PIN discount!

we're booked CBR 11/28-12/7/10!! not lucky enough to have any pins yet but maybe they'll offer a discount later! :-) I CAN'T WAIT!!

I was doing some research today and was hoping to pick dates similar to those, although I would prefer not to book there during Thanksgiving weekend when the rates would potentially be a little higher. I'm aiming for the 29th - 4th, but it all depends on when my fiancee can take off work.

Was your PIN good for the night of the 27? Mine just said from Nov 28 so I didn't bother even asking for rates on teh 27th. Just wondering. (have since changed to the bounceback since that was 35% and my PIN 30%-hope AP is more!)

No I couldn't apply the discount to the 27th.

Did these codes come in the mail already for dec???

I actually didn't receive any pin codes in the mail. I have never received a pin. I called up to make a reservation and asked if there were any pin codes attached to my name. The CM said there wasn't any but he was able to apply a 35% off discount to my reservation.

We're currently booked 11/10 - 11/19, but considering switching to those exact same dates so we can catch ALL the Christmas decorations. We've never traveled during the holidays. Nervous about traveling on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. What's your experience with this week?

Love the holiday decorations!! We've never been this exact week so I'm not sure how the crowds will be. I'm sure busy probably Saturday and maybe Sunday morning but I'm hoping after that it'll be just us DISers! :goodvibes

We're scheduled for November 26 - December 5th. This will be our first time doing the week AFTER Thanksgiving. We usually do the week OF Thanksgiving. We are excited!! :santa: Oh boy! Let's start planning now. Can you close your eyes and see it? I can... And, I love it!!

Hopefully it's a great change with lots less people!! Oh I'm so ready to be there. We've never planned a trip so far away before so it's so super hard to wait for it to get here!!

That is the week we plan on going at the end of the year. It should be interesting. From what I have read the first couple of days will be heavy crowds. But after that the World dies down pretty fast.

See you there!

I've heard the same thing. Let's hope it's right!! :goodvibes

We have our res. for Nov 28-Dec 5 at CBR. We did go one other time for the same week in 2000. It was the only time we were lucky enough to see the Christmas decorations! And it's value season and with the bounceback rate, 35% off, better than the orig PIN discount of 30% (we have AP and TIW) it won't cost much!

Yup love that's it's value season! Exactly why we chose this time to go!

My fiance BADLY wants to go again Nov 29th- Dec 4th!! lol

Well come on and book now will ya!?!?

We'll be driving down to arrive on November 25th night and staying until December 3rd.

I cant wait. This will be my kids first trip.

I've been to MK for a 1 day trip back about 25yrs ago.

YAY! I still remember taking my kids for the first time. Even now, having been like 6 times in two years, there's still new things every time and I love experiencing it with them!

I also seen a place to sign up for texts so im gonna try that also! Maybe ill get a pin

I saw that too and tried but couldn't get signed up for it. I'm gonna keep trying though!!

I'm planning a trip for those exact dates. We are driving down Nov 26 and will arrive at Disney on Nov 27. We are staying at CBR 11/27 - 12/4. I got a 35% off code for the room. Waiting for park hours so I can plan my days and book some ADRs.

Where are you driving from? I'm waiting right there with you!! I can't wait to start planning everything!!

Count me in on the planning! We are booked in a 1 bedroom LV at BLT Nov 26th- Dec 5th. We were there the week after Thanksgiving this past year and it was great. This year should be easier for ADR's and park hours etc. ;)

That's wonderful news!!

Count me in too! We are leaving on the 28th and staying until the 8. SOOO EXCITED!!!!!!!!

We're super excited too!!

We've already booked our bounceback for 11/28-12/4. Flying in on a Sunday hoping to miss the last of the Thanksgiving folks. We went last year the week after that and had a great time. Just waiting for flights to come available for that time...probably be another month. We've booked a preferred room at CBR. Not sure what else I can do right now besides wait.:confused3

So glad some people have already been at this time! Hopefully you'll be able to help us with some experience along the way! :goodvibes

I got the pin for 20/30/40 with dates thru December, and booked Thanksgiving Week (Sun 11/21-Sat 11/27). However, the Wed, Thurs and Fri were black-out dates. I could not use the pin for those days.

But when we went for Thanksgiving week in 2008, I was able to use my discount for all the days. :confused3

Happy planning!

Glad you're booked! Sorry about the black out days

I recall worrying about this last Dec when we were there but it was later in Dec (around the 13th) and don't remember seeing too much of them.

Here's some pixie dust coming your way! We've invited a good friend here from the DIS to go with us and if their finances allow it sounds like they'll be coming! Can't we just grow some money trees?? :rolleyes1

I've moved this thread to the Doing the Happy Dance! board. :)

Thanks! I wasn't sure where it should have went!

Count us in....ASMu Nov 26-Dec 4. Just waiting for "free dining' or a PIN discount!

YAY! Free dining would be awesome! It might be better for us to book seperate rooms on site for the free dining....ugh. I hate deciding between more space and "free" food....

we're booked CBR 11/28-12/7/10!! not lucky enough to have any pins yet but maybe they'll offer a discount later! :-) I CAN'T WAIT!!

We can't wait either!! :goodvibes

Good luck with the finances! We fall into the "value" season but I'm sure that Thanksgiving week is one of the more expensive times to stay there.

I have to say I'm thrilled with how many people there are going at the same time!! I hope we all have a wonderful time!!!

Let's have a friendly thread and share lots of tips and tricks along the way!! Please feel free to ask lots of questions along the way. If anyone's starting a Pre Trip Report, post a link here and we'll be able to follow each other in our specific planning details too. I plan on starting one as well but haven't gotten there yet. Darn life keeps getting in the way!

I'll try to update the first post with everyone's additions.

So here are some questions to get us started (some of you have already answered some of these):

*Where are you staying?
*When are you going?
*Who's in your group?
*What is everyone hoping for as far as ADRS?
*What are you looking most forward to?
*Are you using any other site to help you plan?
*What are you doing to get in the Disney spirit now?

Our PTRs - if you're doing a PTR, post the link here. These have all been gathered from poster's signatures and I will gladly add more once I get the links.

I'll go first!

*Where are you staying? Off site in a home

*When are you going? Nov 27 - Dec 4

*Who's in your group? Myself, DH, DS5, DS3, our friends (boyfriend and girlfriend) and their kids, her DS14 and his DD13.

*What is everyone hoping for as far as ADRS? Crystal Palace breakfast, CRT breakfast, Ohana breakfast, Chef Mickey's breakfast

*What are you looking most forward to? The Christmas decorations, seeing the castle

*Are you using any other site to help you plan? Thinking about using Tour Guide Mike just because I'm nervous about going at such a busy time right after Thanksgiving

*What are you doing to get in the Disney spirit now? I'm listening to shoutcast.com's free Disney music! :goodvibes We're also gonna make a countdown calendar - maybe on Saturday - and we're always talking about what we want to see and do!

Love the holiday decorations!! We've never been this exact week so I'm not sure how the crowds will be. I'm sure busy probably Saturday and maybe Sunday morning but I'm hoping after that it'll be just us DISers! :goodvibes

Hopefully it's a great change with lots less people!! Oh I'm so ready to be there. We've never planned a trip so far away before so it's so super hard to wait for it to get here!!

I've heard the same thing. Let's hope it's right!! :goodvibes

Yup love that's it's value season! Exactly why we chose this time to go!

Well come on and book now will ya!?!?

YAY! I still remember taking my kids for the first time. Even now, having been like 6 times in two years, there's still new things every time and I love experiencing it with them!

I saw that too and tried but couldn't get signed up for it. I'm gonna keep trying though!!

Where are you driving from? I'm waiting right there with you!! I can't wait to start planning everything!!

That's wonderful news!!

We're super excited too!!

So glad some people have already been at this time! Hopefully you'll be able to help us with some experience along the way! :goodvibes

:rolleyes1

YAY! Free dining would be awesome! It might be better for us to book seperate rooms on site for the free dining....ugh. I hate deciding between more space and "free" food....

We can't wait either!! :goodvibes

Good luck with the finances! We fall into the "value" season but I'm sure that Thanksgiving week is one of the more expensive times to stay there.

Just wondering How do you reference all the quotes. I know how to do one but not more. thanks!

Next to the "Quote" button that you used to quote me, there's a little button with a "+" sign. That will select more than one post and you can pick any ones you want - from any thread you want - and reply to them all at once. I hope that makes sense :goodvibes

Thanks, I will try it.

I see you list Hilton Head as your home. We were supposed to stay there on Fri night but cancelled due to the snow. We just wanted to stay on 95 instead of venturing off the road in snowy weather. Did it snow there too? It did in Savannah! Thanks again.

Where are you driving from? I'm waiting right there with you!! I can't wait to start planning everything!!

We are driving from North NJ. We will get to Darien, GA the first day (13 hours) and then into Disney the next (another 4 hours)!

*Where are you staying? CBR

*When are you going? Nov 27 - Dec 4

*Who's in your group? Myself, DH, DS13, DS13, and my parents.

*What is everyone hoping for as far as ADRS? Le Cellier, California Grill (20th anniversay dinner). But we will mostly be eating at counter service places.

*What are you looking most forward to? Seeing the Christmas decorations, the new Toy Story Mania Ride and HARRY POTTER at Universal!

*Are you using any other site to help you plan? I also use allearsnet.com and the official Walt Disney World site.

*What are you doing to get in the Disney spirit now? Visiting the websites looking at pictures of the resort, watching the DVD and ordering the free maps.

Thanks, I will try it.

Yes it did snow on Friday. Honestly it wasn't bad. I think we got about an inch here. We're from MI (moved here about two and a half years ago) so it was nothing for us as far as driving or anything. It was awesome though to hear my kids get so excited! We moved when they were 1 and 3 so the little one didn't really remember snow. To hear them get so excited over it was just the best thing ever.

We are driving from North NJ. We will get to Darien, GA the first day (13 hours) and then into Disney the next (another 4 hours)!

Ohh I don't think Darien's too far from us - I've heard about it on the news! :rotfl: I'm sure you can do it!! We drive from Hilton Head to just north of Detroit every summer to visit family and it takes about 18 hours when we drive straight through. It's a long drive but it's so much easier for us driving straight through - much happier kiddos. I think it will be exciting for you guys to stay and be excited on "Disney Eve"!!! We're about 5 hours from Disney and that drive through Jacksonville (I think that's it - DH drives cause I'd go crazy!!) with all the skyscrapers and stuff is rough sometimes! The best part is (for us) when you start to see the Disney billboards and you know you're getting close!! Have a very safe drive!! Hopefully no snow on the roads and no traffic or anything at all.

Alright I updated the first post with everyone who's replied so far and the information that I had from their posts. Feel free to update more information and I'll do my best to keep things as updated as possible.

Is anyone worried about the Fantasy Land contruction during their trip?? I'm hoping we get to see Mickey and Minnie's houses "one last time". I'm sure the lines will be super long with everyone else having the same mentality. I also hope that the Barnstormer is working just as lovely as ever! Our last trip both my boys were able to ride and had a wonderful time and they're looking forward to riding that ride.
