Who wants to be a Mouseketeer?

We were just on the 3/27 Magic cruise and a girl and her mother won the cruise. The girl was about 8 years old and she knew more of the answers than her mother. Some of those questions were really hard, especially the ones at the end. Maybe I'm just not up on my Disney trivia but I don't know how a kid that age would know the answers unless they spend hours upon hours watching television.

She could have studied the Disney trivia books.

You're right - I had no idea that there were trivia books until after I posted this. That's probably what she did. She seemed like a very smart little girl so chances are she doesn't spend hours just watching TV. I'm impressed - I could never remember all that!

I've been in the hot seat at WWTBAM in MGM and gone as far as the 250,000 question right. I know what the prizes are there- but what about on the ship. Also- does anyone remember what questions they had?

Onboard there are different shipboard credit plaueau's....the grand prize if you get all 10 questions correct is a 7 day cruise for 2 on DCL.

They ask any type of Disney related questions...including all the Disney sub categories like Miramax, Hollywood Pictures, all Disney Family, Disney history, theme park questions, resort questions, movie questions, Disney corporate questions.....just about anything!!!!

They start off very easy but get progressively harder.

makaylee-

Thanks for coming to the defense of my DD8. We were the winners of the Mouseketeer show last week (I heard someone won during the early show too). Yes, my DD was sitting in the far right seat of the middle section as you face the stage. The entire right section of the theatre was empty in our row.

We did not study trivia books nor does my daughter watch tons of TV. She knew the first few answers on her own. Then they asked what year Animal Kingdom opened in WDW. I told her I thought 1999 but I wasn't positive. She answered 1999 but when he asked if that was her final answer she calmly said "no". She then changed her answer to 1998 which turned out to be correct. She said she followed her heart to the right answer. The rest of the questions were quite difficult and she followed my advice on those answers. I would tell her what I thought then I would step back and let her make the choice. I read the questions very carefully then eliminated those answers I thought were wrong. At least twice the correct answers were somehow different from the other three choices so I picked the "different" answer. Of course the three lifelines helped too.

Bottom line is that we won because my daughter is very bright and self-confident and she did not listen to me on the AK question. I helped by being a good guesser. I might also add that both of us are considered "lucky" if you believe in such things.

Congrats!!! on your victory. Your DD8 must be very proud of herself and I'm sure you are too. I hope my DD8 will get the opportunity to show her stuff on our cruise. Have a great time on your victory cruise.

Congratulations on your win! How exciting that must have been! :earseek:

We were on the Magic Easter cruise April 10th and my adult daughter got picked for the panel. She had been just sitting there as she wanted to have a chance at the hot seat.

Anyway wouldn't you know it, the computer later on picked the exact seat she was sitting in, and someone down the row got to go up. What a bummer.

Anyway she received the nice panelist pin for participating.

Just a quick question:

At WWTBAM Play It! at DCA and MGM, there is a time limit for each question (ranging from 15 seconds for the really easy questions to 55 seconds for the 1,000,000 point question)...Do they do this for Mouseketeer as well?

FTR, I'm really jealous of the prize you can win on the Mouseketeer version...I've won the 1,000,000 point prize at DCA twice (last year's cruise on 5/8/03 and this year's on 5/6/04), and while the trip is for 4, it's for the 3-night Wonder!

Natch, I'm also bummed that they don't have Mouseketeer on the Wonder cruises...
