This is just a regular post. If you want a poll you'll need to create one. You can't change a regular post into a poll once you've posted it.

To create a poll, you do it just like a normal post, but before you hit the submit button, go to the bottom and you'll find a section titled Additional Options. There you'll select that you want to make a poll, and how many poll options you want. Then when you submit, you'll get to a new screen to put in your poll options. So if you want to try a poll, just go ahead and start over with a new post/poll.

At a minimum your two poll choices would be Yes and No, but you may want to do more options such as:

YES, and I am an SSR owner
NO, and I am an SSR owner
YES, but I do not own at SSR
No, and I do not own at SSR

Or any other questions you'd like. You really need to figure out what questions you want before you try to create the poll.

I put the four choices above because if they ever did such an improvement, it would be SSR owners who would be paying for it, most likely up front costs as well as increased dues for maintenance, upkeep, operating costs, and possibly life guards.

We have done the parks many times over and bought into DVC just becaues it makes more sense to us than booking a room at a deluxe resort every time we go down there. We have also realized there are times we may just visit the resorts without going into the parks and just use our points for a vacation away from the hustle and bustle of work life. With that being said, I think a lazy river would be a nice attraction to SSR, but I don't see you convincing Disney of that because they get more money when you visit the parks. I would use it if there was one there and not overly crowded with kids bored of the pool, but if the flocked to it and it was not relaxing then I would forego the river and let them have it.

Ahhhh.... A lazy river. How about one that flows directly to the Adventurers' Club??? With a beer holder in the inner tube, of course! :teeth:

That's certainly a unique idea, but also a logistical nightmare.

First, security. How do you keep people from walking over from Downtown Disney or an off-site resort? More importantly, how do you secure it after dark? You'd need 8' high wrought iron fences around the entire thing just to keep people from stumbling (literally) into the concrete viaduct in the middle of the night.

Then there are the staffing issues. Assuming that you're envisioning something similar to Typhoon Lagoon, you need multiple entry/exit points properly staffed with trained lifeguards. I have to assume that TL also has its own fair share of video surveilance to help protect guests in those hidden areas.

Finally there's the reality that any sort of mini-waterpark would take business away from TL and BB. Sure members would get behind the idea. With the number of points that will eventually exist at SSR, just a nickle's increase in dues would generate $500,000 to go toward the cost of additional resort amenities. But you're asking Disney to both pay for the construction of this perk AND to lose some (albeit small) amount of annual revenue generated by folks who would have otherwise gone to one of the existing waterparks.

DVD had a chance to add more resort amenities into the design of "Phase 3", and they chose not to do so. I don't see them changing their minds now.

No thank you!

Our use of the pool at any DVC resort is limited to cooling off a little, splashing around a little, then laying in the sun with a good book and a cold adult beverage. If I want a lazy river, I'll go to Typhoon Lagoon; anything SSR could squeeze in would be a pale shadow of the real thing.

If we're coming up with ideas that we'd like, and want to force the rest of the SSR owners to pay for, how about making all services at the SSR Spa free to guests staying on points? :rolleyes1

I'm with you!!!!
As pretty as a lazy river sounds (don't know how realistic it is though) free spa sevices (not that that's realistic either) would make me much happier than a lazy river, or a bigger pool!

No thanks on the lazy river to boring now a tube slide of a drop slide would be a welcomed addition by our family.
