My disorganization is costing me YET again. Apparently, I forgot that I already bought this ticket, and I went ahead and BOUGHT IT AGAIN! Just checked my credit card statement -- one too many airline charges on there. What a scatterbrain.

OK it's a one-way ticket. All you have to do is get a fake I.D. with my name on it. ;)

Oh no.:p

It's too bad airline tix aren't somehow transferable. I don't know how these things work but maybe you can get them to credit a future trip?

Can't you call and play stupid and be like, "I misunderstood when she was asking me for all the info, I gave her my name because I was paying for the ticket...me and my friend (insert name here) are going on vacation and both the tickets have my name on them!" Surely a supervisor will try to help you...Airlines need all the business they can get!

Can't you call and cancel one? I think most airlines will charge a cancellation fee (maybe $75?) and issue a voucher for the balance that can be used within a year.

Ok, I'm game! Tell me who I have to be and what to look like and I will take the ticket! I'm only 4'11". Am I even close to your height? I can handle a fake id no problem

Seems to me that if they are both in your name for the same flight, date and time that maybe they would refund it since it's obviously a mistake. Can't hurt to call and ask. The worse they can say is no. ;)

I'm in Boston, I could use a trip to Orlando myself ;)

A fake ID wouldn't be the best idea for me though, I get searched ALL THE TIME.

I'm very suspicious you know, at 5'1, the tiny little blonde college student. ::yes::

How the heck do you forget that you booked a flight?? I mean, unless you travel all the time, something like a flight reservation should be fairly memorable, I would think??

I can sure understand how it could happen.

I've got multiple copies of some CDs... "Oooh, this sounds like it would be good. I'll buy it!" Take it home, and find that I already OWN it.

Pick up an interesting paperback. Around chapter 3, realize the plot and characters sound a bit too familiar. Duh- already bought and read it.

I've done it with clothes, too. Buy a cute shirt, go to hang it in the closet, and realize it has a twin already hanging there.

Double booking a flight sounds like something that could easily happen when we're really busy or distracted...

I don't know I wouldn't forget I booked a flight.I find that hard to do. But I guess it happens.

What airline is it? If it happens to be SouthWest it would be very easy to either get a credit or transfer the ticket to someone else..

Don't you just hate those "senior moments" when you aren't even a "senior" yet? LOL..;)

The airline themselves should have caught the fact that you already had a reservation in your name. I'd call and ask for a refund on the second ticket.

I too have wondered how this happens.....I mean I know I get busy sometimes but when I go to plan a trip - I KNOW once I buy that ticket and I put it where I don't forget about it. If I had that happen, my bank account would go broke!!!!! (or it would bounce)

This thread has made my day. I forget lots of little things, but never anything that big. Nice to know there are other people out there the same age as me with worse memories than I have. :p

Tried to buy the same CD at least 3 times! Every time I head to the mall my DD now says... remember mom, we already have "no shoes, no shirt, no problems" don't EVEN pick that one up!

I've done the same thing with books. I've even paid for the same e-bay auction twice!

Good thing I don't travel much:crazy:

Oh that sounds like something I would do. I can totally understand. The part that amazes me is that you knew where your credit card statements were. Unless you looked them up online. I am scatterbrained and disorganized, I always assumed the two went hand in hand. I paid my electric bill twice just last month. Years ago I turned in my Sr Thesis twice, I had made extra copies and when I saw one sitting out I assumed I had forgotten to hand it in. LOL at remembering that. I always say;

Of all the things I have lost in my life, I miss my mind the most.

hee hee hee hahahaha!!! I'm THRILLED to know I'm not the only one who's done something goofy like this.

I ALMOST purchased a ticket for somewhere....totally blanking it out of my mind that I had already DONE so! Stopped myself just in the nick of time.....

I think it happened because I had bought my first ticket so much earlier but I had been keeping up on the ticket prices....must have stayed in my head that I still needed to buy one or somethin'.

:p

And yeah, I've bought double CD's and movies as well. :jester:

LOL. I have purchased the same greeting card, in multiple years, and I have purchased the same ring (2 different times  ) for Marie. :earseek:
