I met the family back at the Haunted Mansion. They were finishing up their snacks.
The wait said 10 minutes but it was a walk on. Luckily no one screamed. Have they always had the person hanging from the ceiling? I don't remember that.
Madeline wasn't scared of much except the alligator in the stretching room. Once we convinced her that the alligator was not on the ride only ghosts she was good to go. Strange child I have. She really liked the hitch hiking ghosts at the end. I do have to say this was the only ride she didn't say "again" to. She did give it a round of applause at the end though.
she conquered the Haunted Mansion. YAY
We discussed weather or not to have lunch at this point but it wasn't even 11am yet so we headed to Adventure Land. Madeline spotted the spitting Totem Poles (I"m SURE they didn't always spit water) on the way to
Everyone was choosing the right side of the line so we went left. SUCKERS! We had a walk on while they all had to wait a bit.
I was a little worried about the drop at the beginning of the ride.

I shouldn't have worried. Madeline of course loved it. (I also remember it being much steeper. I seem to always build up those drops in my mind).
Madeline gave this ride a standing ovation. She wanted to ride again. But it was time to move on. I must say I'm probably the only person that doesn't like the refurb. Adding Johny Dep throughout was fine BUT I do NOT like the last scene. I much prefer the old bank scene with the people tied up. Ah well.
While the gang looked through the pirate shop I headed over to get fast passes for the Jungle Cruise. All day long the fast passes were running an hour or less return time after we grabbed them. It was really nice.
We decided to go grab some lunch now before it got too busy. We went to Pecos Bill and waved to Captain Hook on our way. This was the least busy I've ever seen this place. No trouble finding a table today! I think Eric and I both had cheeseburgers, my mom had a taco salad, my dad got a drink and I shared my burger with him. Madeline just ate fruit and yogurt that we brought along. I think we might have gotten her some milk too.
Pecos Bill's seating is different then I remember it. We were sitting on stools. I seem to remember chairs with backs.
I guess there are a lot of little things that changed since 2004
After lunch we headed to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. We secured a child swap pass and Eric, my dad, and I rode first. Loved it as usual. We found my mom and Madeline at the exit playing with another little girl.

My dad said that he'd stay with Madeline IF she was sitting in her stroller. Well she wasn't so I had to forgo a 2nd ride on the railroad while mom and Eric went on. It was time to get another fast pass now so Madeline and I headed over to Splash to get those. We then went to the exit and waited for mom and Eric. We got to see them on the ride.
Madeline was pretty tired so we put her in the stroller and were going to go on the jungle cruise next. By the time we got to the little cut through by the flying carpets it appeared that Madeline would fall asleep. So I decided that we needed a snack break and got sent Eric to get one of those slushy's from the place right there (Sunshine Terrace maybe?). While Eric did that I walked around with Madeline. She spotted those totem poles again though so nap was not an option. I let her out to play. She just stood there for a while. Then some other kids came so she tried to join in. Then a mean kid put his hand over the spitter and got Madeline soaked.
She wasn't too happy so she got back in the stroller and we joined the group. Eric had an ice cream cone so of course Madeline needed some. THen she spotted my drink and she drank most of it
She how hot she looks? This was probably the coolest day too.
After our snack it was time for a 2 week cruise in the jungle.
I was on the middle bench so pictures were kind of hard to get. We enjoyed seeing the back side of water and Madeline liked that tiger in the cave.
We headed back over to Splash Mountain. It was around 1pm at this point. Splash Mountain was INSANE! Neither mom or dad wanted to go on. Dad plopped down on the bench right next to the fast pass return and mom took Madeline to the playground. Eric and I got in line. The fast pass line was pretty long. I chickened out and left Eric to ride alone. I wasn't in the mood to ride. I met mom and Madeline at the playgound. There were a bunch of boys there that either didn't have parents watching or the parents didn't care. They kept cutting in line and pushing and shoving. It also smelled like dirty diaper here. Madeline seemed to enjoy herself despite all of that.
It took Eric a LONG time there. I'm sure we were there for about 45 minutes. We decided it was time to head out of the park via the railroad.
Next up day 3.4 poor CM!
