We are going next year and curious how the trip was in terms of it being enough time on the boat and activities. Did they have the Pirate party?

There was no pirate party, but there were fireworks! I'll be starting my trip report one of these days soon, so look for the Wonder B2B West Coast Concierge Trip Report, and I'll fill you in. I must say that they packed a LOT of fun activities into those two days! Of course, it's always too short, but it was a nice cruise, and the weather was lovely after the 100 degree heat of Anaheim!

I'm booked on the one for 2015 too. Wondering if they will have the formal or the pirate night.

Hello. I looking into booking the 2 night cruise on May 15, 2015. I'll be taking my 14yr old son and my two nephews (13,12). Is there FE during those 2 days? Would love to participate in it.

You know - what I meant to say is that there was no Pirates menu at dinner. There was a pirates deck party and fireworks, but we did not attend. It was on the first night leaving San Diego. It didn't seem very "piratey" because I didn't see anyone dressed up - nor were there pirate bandanas or doubloons left on the bed. I was surprised to see a Pirate party on the same night as the Golden Mickeys dinner and show, but I am glad that the short cruisers were able to experience it! Sorry for misreading your entire post.

Hello Alicefreak,
Fish Extender exchanges are all dependent on your DIS group and whether you can find any participants. We didn't participate in the 2-night FE, but there were several people who did. So once you are a little closer, you could also be the one to suggest it! I'm sure you'll find some takers, and I hope you have a wonderful time!

What are the golden mickey's?

The Golden Mickeys is mainly a stage show, where the Disney characters are gathered to win awards (like the Oscars). Lots of characters, lots of familiar songs from animated feature films - it's very fun, if a little cheesy, but I think most cruisers enjoy it. On the same night as the stage show, the dining rooms have a special menu that is served in all three dining rooms. Another fun thing before the show is that they have an interviewer (think Red Carpet live pre-show before the Oscars) who picks random kids arriving for the show, and she interviews them. Their interviews are then shown live on the screens in the Walt Disney theatre before the show starts. It's sometimes a real hoot, so it pays to get to the Theatre a bit early before the show begins. Hope that gives you some idea. Unlike some of the stage shows, I think EVERY one of the ships shows this one. It's kind of the flagship stage show for all cruises.
