Who took advantage of "Goofy" FD 12/17/09-? code ( the small print at the end)

Just curious seeing the ADR nightmares for the summer FD crowd....Christmas is crazy enough, just wondering how MUCH crazier by adding hoards fo free diners. If you are going and doing FD ,please post!
We have CSR booked 12/17-12/27, Free DDP, and I know the values were offered w/QS plan too.

yeah, it had the PIN number of about 12 numbers on it, not a 3 letter code. The last day to book was 5/23... It seemed like a TON of people were posting that they got the Goofy code tho...the general dates were 10/2 -11/24 I think, but then you could call and ask about 12/17. I would not doubt that more deals will be released, room only discounts at that time would be HUGE...for us more worthy than free dining, simply becasue rack rate at the Holidays is

Glad to hear Merryweather! I am surprised so few responses, I was starting to think the CM made a mistake in our booking and have checked our itinerary several times to make sure all is well! Enjoy your trip, I am super excited to see the castle , we have been 2x's at Christmas, once was just for 3 days and we did not go into the parks, visited resorts, DTD etc., then we stayed 10 days and enjoyed tons but the castle was not decorated with the lights yet, that came the following year. The decorations, holiday scents, music, it is very enjoyable. Try and take time to see all the resorts, we made it to all but POR and OKW/SSR, so we are going to try and see those this trip.

We have 4 families booked 11/24-12/4 - 3 with free dining (well plus the cost to upgrade from QS to DDP) and 1 with full price DDP since a single pin can only be used on 3 rooms. We were going at that time anyway, so our families won't be additional

well, special in the fact that we received one of the codes that Disney sent out by email. We recieved it on 4/30, ressies needed to be booked by 5/23. Quite a few people posted about the code, there was also a 5/2 code, pay for 5 get 2 nights free, and I *think* another where kids 3-9 were free, or something like that. I am notsure of the dates of use on all of those, just the one we received which was the Goofy code. You can try the Swan Dolphin doe AAA rates for your dates, I ahve that booked as well as a back up in case I can't get out of her by the 17th. Our AAA rate for the Dolphin is 186 the dates of 12/22-27...not sure what it would be past that. You cantry ALLEARS.NET FOR A Dolphin code as well, or the Entertainment book. Also jointhe Dolphin "recipe" club for 1/2 off rack rate. Just go to their website to join. Discounts for the dates you are after have historically been few and far between, but who knows this year? I am hopeful some more deals will come out.

and we are staying 11-30 to 12-10 at POP. Since Disney has all the Christmas decorations and activities going for Christmas done by Thanksgiving, I would never stay at Christmas. I may add 4 days on the back end to the trip; because, you are allowed 14 nights on this deal. I'm actually waiting for a better deal; because, we have QS free dining, right now. Last year, we went around the same time and we were able to get the regular basic free dining plus for a value resort just like the fall offer right now for free dining. I really want the regular free dining plus. I do have the option to upgrade to it for $10 a person, per day. I'm grateful to have what I have, but if I can go one better, why not?

The other poster is right that the Goofy deal had different promos. My CM told me there were 6 different offers on that deal. For most, the free dining was probably the best deal of the 6 different ones.

June 21 is the current deadline for the free dining promo in late summer and early fall this year. I'm hoping a general public code or at least a VISA code will be available after that time elapses for the rest of the year. I figure if I got the deal last year for regular free dining plus, I would think it should be available this year; since, the ecomony is worse, now. We'll all see shortly. If the UK is being offered free dining for the end of the year already, I would think an offer will be coming soon for the rest of us.

I really can't justify a trip; unless, I get an offer like free dining. Disney has stated officially that deep discounts will be discontinued now. I believe they are referring to the buy 4, stay 3 free offer that was a first time deal this year to be offered to the public. That was an unexpected, exceptional deal. Unfortunately, I think that will impact offers negatively for the rest of the year. Disney is not use to giving those kind of offers for that time of year. I think they will be looking at their bottom line much harder, right now. If souvenir spending, etc. has not increased well enough from these good deals this summer, we may all be hard pressed to get a deal for later in the year. Disney is not in the business of giving the bank away.

I'm among the ones that have been spoiled by the discounts. I will say I won't go without a promo, now. I do understand the deals will differ depending on the economy, etc. Good luck to us all.

We've booked 12/17 - 12/27 with the adults play at kid prices pin. It's not quite as good as free dining, but with the discount on both tickets and dining it's close. I'm assuming we'll have to have our TA on the phone with Disney right at the 90 day mark in order to get the ADRs that we want. So far I'm really impressed with the speed of responses from my TA so I'm assuming that he'll be right on the ball with this. I realize I may not get 100% of my first choices, but I'd like to get several of them with booking this far out. We tend to try to get first seatings or at least ADRs for 5:00 or earlier anyway. These times tend to be a bit easier to get though I'm still assuming being on the phone at the 90 day mark will be necessary.

you know, a party of 10 may have an easier go at ADR's than the ever popular party of 4.....that being said, kinda glad you won't be my competition for ADR's...lol...we arrive the 17th also at CSR (first stay there) Have a great trip!

It's not too likely that a pin code will come your way. There are some tactics that help to get a pincode like signing up for every Disney website you can register for especially getting the DVD about Disney World vacations. An important one is Disney Destinations. A few people are very lucky about getting pincodes over and over again. You cannot transfer these pincodes to anyone, either or we would all share them, here.

If you get the Disney Visa credit card, it will probably help you the most with codes. Disney Visa does make some codes available, here and there. Some of these codes are Disney Visa specific only; while other codes come out to Disney Visa card holders first and then those same codes are released to the general public a little while later. The idea being you have access before the general public will have it. There is a limited supply of promo deals and there will be deadlines for it. Sometimes, you have to be flexible and change resorts, etc. to get a good deal.

I think by the end of June there should be another code out for winter time at Disney. That's when the fall promo ends that was open to the general public. Winter codes have been as late as September, too. Whether it will be a general public code or not we will all have to wait and see. There are blockout dates with these codes usually with December based on past history. You could be iffy with your dates. If you do qualify for one, you don't have to start over with your existing reservation for your trip; Disney will apply it if you qualify. By the way, there's no guarantee the offer will be free dining. Whatever the offer, if there is an offer it should help you.

I really wish I'd gotten the FD PIN; the one we had was for $377.00 per person for room/tickets for 4 nights. Not really helpful for us..
