Who steals potholders???!!!!

This is the third or fourth time we have discovered mid-trip that we have no potholders. Who the heck is desperate enough to steal those cheap little green jobbies?

Perhaps people who sneak extra people into their rooms with refillable mugs bought 10 years ago so they can pool-hop to SAB when they are staying at HHI???
Just my guess.

Maybe people with kids that like to hide things around the room you know like your socks you swear you put both of them in the dryer but you only ever get one out. Or it could be the people that RoyalCanadian spoke of I love my mugs bring them all every trip from all resorts so I can stop in for a free refill.

Taking the high road here. I always assumed that the potholders got dirty and were removed by housekeeping with the linens/towels and not replaced. But wdwstar's answer is pretty good too.

Wow...I haven't even been "home" yet....I guess I need to bring my own potholders!!! Hey, maybe when I leave, we could just kind of pass them around like the strollers and toasters!!!

I've wondered that myself..... not at DVC resorts, but at my condo. It is a rental, and with all the stuff in it, the thing I have to replace most is pot holders! I buy the cheap ones from Walmart now because they dissappear so often. Nothing else ever does, except for a spoon now and then. I'm guessing that they get burned, or lost, or accidentally thrown away.

And they take pool towels from the pool for the room. And, of course, when they are wet, hang them from the balcony to dry. Then they leave, while depositing their trash outside their door.

(I'm beginning to suspect that all of us are perfect and there is three DVC members who are constant guests (must own a ton of points!) who do this stuff).

LOL! Last January, we asked for pot holders at OKW, and they brought dark green ones that didn't match the decor at all! They must have stolen them from VWL!

It's either paraphanalia that will get you at least a fine if not some time in the county lock-up OR those "cute" things that hang on a hook in my kitchen that I'm supposed to use for handling hot cookware instead of a towel that is ultimately more useful.
