Who shouldn't do the Halloween party cruise?

We are 2 older adults and not character people. Is that reason enough to just do the regular cruise? Ty.
Just got off a 7 night HOTHS cruise on the fantasy just myself and my husband and we loved it! The neat thing about Disney cruising is you can really pick and choose how much "Disney" you actually experience. We loved all the little touches like the Pumpkin Tree story and Halloween decor because it helps us get in the spirit of the season, but we didn't do everything. I think we skipped a few of the deck parties and stage shows for a more quiet experience some days.
We just chose this cruise overall because of the price though!

I just got off the Wish. My 25 DD and I feel as adults we would have had a better time if we were able to keep our reservations the week earlier which was not HOTHS. But I don’t feel that was for Very Merry cruises or NYE. I am 60.

So I've done 3 HOTH cruises and will be doing number 4 here in a couple weeks. I also enjoy Halloween and love Halloween time at Disneyland. The reason we have done all the HOTH cruises though is just that cruising in Oct works really well for our family so we've done one every Oct for the last 4 years.

Personally I've found the HOTHS sailings a little underwhelming on the Halloween front. I've loved every one of our cruises I just feel like they could do more to really theme them. So I woudn't prioritize a HOTHS sailing unless you really love seeing Disney Halloween decorations etc. However I wouldn't avoid it either if the timing works well. It doesn't take away from the cruise experience if you aren't into it.

My favorite aspects to it our the decorations and the music they play on the Halloween day. The background music in the halls is one of my favorite parts of a Disney cruise and I do love the Halloween mix. However if randomly there was a non Halloween sailing in October I wouldn't feel bad booking it. We actually are doing a non Oct sailing next year so we will get a HOTHS break.

I agree! I also love what they play on pirate night. But, I absolutely loved the playlist they used for our Merrytime cruise last November.

Several people in the social media group came together to create a Spotify playlist (based on what we heard, Shazammed, etc.). It's a great list of Disney holiday music, plus hearing the songs brings back the great memories from that cruise!
