Who should I book with? DLR, Coscto or Getawaytoday?

I have finalized my wants for the trip in October with my 2 boys, and we would like to stay at BW PPI. I have alway booked through Disneyland before but have checked the others out. Honestly Costco is more, I am afraid that I will have to wait in line at admissions to get my tickets if I book through Getawaytoday..but DL is $100 more, but with the souveneir tickets. OH HELP!!! My dh thinks I am nuts! I really just don;t know who to book with.

We've just returned from a package booked with Costco. Our package included a character breakfast plus preferred seating at Aladdin and a couple of other shows at DCA plus the early hour at Toontown. At the time I booked, the Costco package was a little less than packages offered by others. We received our souvenir park passes, etc. prior to our departure for DL.

We booked through Costco for our upcoming trip and it was a little less than GAT.com and quite a bit less than DL.com. And the Character Breakfast for our party of 6 made it an even sweeter deal.

I did get away today, and standing in lin to get the real tickets will be no bother, you just do it the day you arrive, ( send someone to the park to get them while the other is checking in.) no biggie. and I got the best deal out there at the time so go for the best deal, save some money and buy more :lol: have a great trip.

I'm going to go against the grain here and say book it yourself and save alot of money....

I went to a local TA and they where about 2000 more then what I could do myself.

I ran all the prices for our trip in August including do it myself and the price point turned out to be Costco with the character breakfast and gift card.

i have to agree... I have heard good things about costco. Though if you have AAA you might be able to get an decent discount through your local agent.

Same here - we are also going in August - Costco was the winner hands down!!!!

Just a tip - if you book through GAT, make sure whoever books the tickets, is the one who picks up the tickets and that person needs to take their ID with them.

Check 'em all for your dates.

Then (the same day) check into booking hotel directly (or through pricline, hotwire, hotels.com, etc) and buying tickets directly.

Book what makes you happy! But book it when you see a price you like...I was in the checking prices process back in '07 when ONE DAY all the prices, across the board, went up. Costco, dl, AAA....sigh.

I have to agree, I personally found that it was about 300+ dollars cheaper to book hotel and tickets seperatly. You don't get the souvenier plastic tickets. I had in the past booked packages so had the priority seatin etc. I personally dont notice a big difference. But just my personal opinion do what makes you happy,

We just booked through Costco for July 16 - 21. They were the same price as Disney, but with Costco we got character breakfast and a $20 gift card. With Disney you get a character call, but i felt the breakfast was a much better benefit.

We did the same, was the best buy for our group and I checked everywhere, individually and packages.

I believe that AAA just goes through the Disney site for booking. I second the booking it all yourself (especially if you are including airfare). It sounds like Costco could be a good deal too.

We used Costco for the first time this trip and thought it was a good value. The price was the same as booking directly through Disney but we got the Character breakfast and gift card. It was also better versus ala carte hotel booking and separate pass purchase. We booked about 3 months ago and our trip is in 2 1/2 weeks. Just got our package via UPS yesterday!

I ended up booking thru costco. the price was the same with DLTC and Costco, andI did not want to stand in line with 2 tired boys to get tickets the night before. Thanks for all the help!!

I've done packages and booking on my own, and prefer on my own. One advantage to a package is that you get some extras like preferred seating, parking, discounts on some merchandise, pins, and so on. That was neat the first time but I don't need/use those extras so it's not a big deal to me. The other main advantage is the ease of it.

The downside to a package, for me, is cancellation or changing your reservation and the fact that you have to pay immediately, either a deposit or the whole amount, and you have to pay it in full well before your trip. In some ways that's nice (everything's paid for before you go), but I don't like a lack of flexibility with my reservation.

I use an ap for hotel discounts and that makes a big difference for the times I go. You might look into getting one ap for your family to see if the ap rates for the hotel would make it a worthwhile investment. For my family, buying an ap (that came from Costco with a $50 gift card) more than paid for itself--it saved us several hundred dollars on one trip. An additional bonus is that you get 10% off most food with a Deluxe and even more (15% food, 10% merchandise, I think) with a Premium ap.

I liked the idea of the Costco package but I got a much better price on my own with an ap. In the past, we have used AAA and liked them, but Costco seems to have a better deal if you're wanting to do a package. Disney direct is the last choice for me.
