Just curious! I was looking at the Bath and Body works semi annual sale and the yankee candle semi annual sale and wondering if many people shop it and save the products for next year?
Are the lotions and everything still good?

I do! I use them for hostess/birthday/Christmas gifts for the coming year and, yes, they're all still just fine! :goodvibes

Thanks!! I'm thinking of ordering some things from Bath and Body works for next Christmas. It's such a good deal!
I have some Yankee Candles that were leftover from this Christmas so I am going to hold them until next year

I have several from past years. The only ones I had to throw away were the Cucumber Mellon ones. Other than that the rest are still good.

Yes, I stock up for myself and for gifts during the sale. The products keep, but don't open them (to smell them) and store them in a place that doesn't have too much of a temp change throughout the year.

I use to but I don't anymore. I have to give hostess type gifts during the year and use to buy up and save them until someone made a comment about an old yankee candle label. I don't use them enough to pay attention to the labels, but I was embarrassed enough to only buy current labels to give as gifts.

Yes things are still good, just do not store them in the attic or garage where temps. are not controllable.

I even shop the after Christmas candy deals. A lot of them have expirations dates well into 2012. If that is the case, I get them for next year. (Of course I do not buy anything that will be out of date by the time next year rolls around.)

If the person cares enough about the label to comment on it being old, on an otherwise new gift they do not deserve to get a gift! :goodvibes

I've always wondered this about lotions too! Thanks for asking this  I was just at Bath and body works last night and got a bunch of stuff. I know that I could gift a lot of it so good to know that it will last :goodvibes now I don't feel so guilty spending the money!

Not lotions or candles but I usually hit Pier One for some ornaments for my kids to give as gifts. Its a very busy time for us (as I know it is for many) & being able to tell the kids 'Go get a gift from the stash' makes the chaos a little bit easier.

I always have, but am limiting it this year since I would like to do more handmade gifts in 2011. I did get a couple of birthday gifts for friends at Yankee Candle, and tons of wrapping paper and things at Target, but I'm not stocking up at BBW or VS this year.

I stock up for myself, DH, and DD. I bought 20 bottles of Bath and Body hand soap for $1.25 a bottle, and several bottles of body wash and lotion for $3 per bottle. We're just now finishing up the last of the lotion from last year's sale.

I do not like to give outdated gifts so I buy only for personal use unless I can use it soon. For example, I bought a perfume set at VS for my nieces Feb. birthday. I also, picked up a few small things to start my supply of goodies to send DD when she's away this Summer. I wouldn't save things for a year to give as gifts.

I will only buy ornaments, candles and such for next Christmas. 12 months is just too long in my opinion to hang onto BBW lotions, etc to give away.

My package from Yankee Candle arrived yesterday! :) I've gotten the small jar candles for several years now. I store them in my closet and they've always been fine the next year. I have a white one that I've used as a Christmas decoration for 5 or 6 years now (I like the label more than the scent!) and it still looks and smells just the same.
