Hello..everyone! this is my first ever PTR. I hope i don't bore u but hang with me. Iam still very new to the DIS. I will start off by saying i am a Disney freak but im sure u figured that! I cant even count the number of times ive been to Disney. my first trip was at 1 and several trips as a child. then in 2007, i did the Disney College Program and my count is just too off.

WHEN: we will be in wdw October 7 - 10, 2010..This is a short trip because im in college and only got 2 extra days for fall break but Georgia is only a 1 hr flight away. Growing up we always made that 8 hr drive frm ATL to FL but after my 1st flight to Europe last yr flying is my preferred way to travel.

WHY: This trip is very special to me because it will be my DS first trip for his first birthday. I cannot tell you how many times i tell people im taking my son and they flip out.."what is he going to do there?...well the same thing you would do minus big thrill rides. this trip is also special because it is my nephews first trip as well. It will also be the entire party's first time, including me, going in October for MNSSHP and F&W festival. it will also be a first flight for my sister, dad and the kids

WHO:
me: Shunica(24 IN THE NEXT FEW WEEKS!!!)The Disney nut of the family. i can remember being in middle school and planning my family trips. even though it never happened how i planned i just enjoyed it. I actually use to like collect Disney brochures..ha-hah. i so love Disney because even though things don't work out how we plan or want, im optimistic and i still believe in fairy tales and true love and all that great stuff we hear about in the Disney movies..Im currently a respiratory therapy student and i work part time at Babies R Us. i just finished my first semester in the program with 3 A's and 1 C which was disappointing with that 1 C but im glad i passed. We have to make at least a 75 to stay in the program. i figured id start this PTR now while im on break until summer classes start. This is me during my college program. i woked future world north merchandise..mostly strollers but i also did the 2 gift shops under spaceship earth, gateway gifts and camera center, gift stop/package oick up, and leave a legacy before it stopped

DS(8 months)He is my joy. he will me 12 months while at WDW and he is my blessing. it took some work to get this one here including five months of bed rest.. the first month was the worst bc it was in the hospital. hes a silly baby and inquisitive and always into something. and he loves to eat. he is so juicy born 8lbs5oz was hitting 20 pounds at his 6 month check up and i already have to buy him 18 month size clothes. Im sure some of that will come of when he starts walking. Heres my son, Devyn in his valentines appearal.he was 5 months

coming along with is:
MY SIS:..28..shes not as big a Disney fan as me but she is excited because it will be her first plane ride and her DS first Disney trip. im glad that she has tolerated my Disney obsession for well most of my life. this is her and her son/nephew

. TJ(2).. my nephew will be two and hes already having those terrible two tantrums but hes fun and like a grown man in a 2 year old body. I told my sister she is lucky cause this boy loves to clean. he will take a vacuum or map or cloth and clean like a grown person and he enjoys it. he loves mouse as he calls mickey mouse and also has a new obsession with Thomas the train. SN: we took him to the fair and just discovered he deos not like to ride...we r hoping that will change but u never know

PARENTS: my mom and dad are coming along. my mom loves traveling in generally. shes a elementary school paraprofessional..mostly pre-k when i told her i wanted to go she had not problem inviting herself but im glad she will see her grand kids first time..dads coming along bc I told him too..daddy's girl. my mom deos not like pictures she never takes them so this is the only pic i have. she was holding devyn after he was born
ry%3D400

DSBF: TIO..coming along and bringing his older daughter frm previous. last time these 2 visited the world that didn't do much and they sleep in. i have warned them that they sleep in if they want and they will miss out. its a short trip and we r on a mission and if the kids get tired..they can sleep in the stroller!!!seriously every time we went to wdw in the world we were park goers frm open to close. so its natural that i would start my own out that way.

Stay tuned for updates!.....

Hi! I'm going in October too and am definitely in to see what all you come up with! (Welcome to the boards, btw!)

Your son is a-dorable!!! I went to WDW for the first time around the same age; of course, I don't remember it, but the pictures that I have from my parents are still special!

Can't wait to hear what all you have in store! (BTW, totally jealous you did the college program!)

hEY AND THANK U FOR JOINING ME AND 4 UR COMPLIMANTS. THAT LITTLE BOY IS ,Y JOY. WHEN R U GOING IN OCTBER? I HAVE NEVER BEEN DURING THIS TIME SO IM SSSOOO EXCITED!!!

OK. so i chose my title because i can get some funny looks from others for taking a little one to Disney world. I did go while i was pregnanat like 10 weeks becasue when i got home the morning sickness kicked in. The number one reason people are against it is because he will not remember it and he will not be able to do anything, but believe me I know he will be doing 2 things..riding Dumbo and getting a pic with the mouse!lol. I have been going to Disney since i was one and i don't remember it but i have pictures and my family has special memories from that trip. I just know that u cant put life on hold when u have a child. So i do believe in taking him where i go. don't get me wrong if hes sick or there is a snow storm outside, which we don't see much in Georgia, i wouldn't take him out. And after hearing other families taking little ones as young as 2 months to Disney I felt better about it and so I got a stroller with a recline and he can nap there. I guess that comes from when my parents took my sister and me to the parks and we were there open to close and I still didn't want to leave.
In other news, we have decided to stay at Pop century. Both my sister and I are in college and on a budget and we will not be spending much time there. We will be booking in a few days, however, we officially booked flights today! Devyn will have 2 first in one trip: a flight and Disney. We were able to get some good deals thru Air Tran at 80 one way. I also have made ADR as soon as my 180 marked open. We r only doing three. First is Boma for dinner. I love AKL and this one as well as all of our ADR are new to all of us. Second, Teppan edo for dinner. Im really happen about this.. I don't know why I actually worked at Epcot and never knew about the hibachi grill..i fell in love with the one at home so hopefully I want be disappointed..and finally chef mickey's for breakfast. I have heard mixed views about this one lately but we agreed to give it a try.. I never knew about it until my college program but out of the 6 months I was there and between working and class, I never got to go cause it was booked. I think im more excited about the characters than the actually meal.

We stayed at POP last December! Had a ton of fun. I've been told it's still warm enough to swim, so you can hit the fun pools if you have some free time!

This will be our very first MNSSHP. We our planning to go thursday october 7th arrival day.we r use to hitting the parks the day we arrive after 8 hour drive so im sure we can handle it after a one hour flight. There is so much i want to do but i know we probably will not do it all. I definately want to see Snow white and the dwarfs and Mickey in his halloween attire. My nephew loves the frog princess( the princess and the frog) so we have to meet her and the prince. they r new so i dont know if they will be at MNSSHP but if not we r planning to get there at 4 so we can try to catch her before the party! For those who have been i would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions of things we shouldnt miss!!

Hey girl!! I am here!!

Your little man is SO CUTE!!!! I'm so glad you aren't listening to anyone tell you his too young for Disney!! Nonsense! Did you read my first tr? I took my little guy for the first time when he was 9 months old and he had the best time and loves to look at the pictures from that trip!! It was the best!! We also did MNSSHP and Chef Mickeys...I'm so glad you are doing those! You will have the best time!!

Landon was a little chunk when he was born too--8lbs 7oz!! Yay for big boys! I can't believe Devyn is already in 18 months clothes though!! That's crazy. Landon is mostly in 2T now. He's in the 97th percentile for height, but average for weight. Where is Devyn? I would imagine off the charts!

Can't wait for more!!! I'm actually really jealous you're going when you are! That's more of when I'm wanting to go, but the people I'm going with have school and didn't know when their break was!! Oh well!!

Thank you and i love chunky babies they r the best. my son was actually in his 98th percentile for his height and bacsue of that they told me his weight was fine.he was at 22.5 pounds at his 9 month check up. im so excited and those peole that dont agree well i dont care what they think. Im jealoue that u r going sooner than later. school is a problem for me too thank goodness i have that fall breaK!!! I did read ur first trip report and i say how Landon did enjoy himself and it made me feel much better about taking devyn!!!

Hello everyone, so i started a thread asking for any suggestions or tips on flying with a lap baby and it has become a mad house!.In my original post i tried to avoid the debate on whats right or wrong by saying that buying another ticket for my child is not an option or up for a discussion but people took it the wrong way. I have some people who have suggested that mother who flys a lap baby is a bad mother and i think it is very rude. no one has anyidea what i go through for my son. i agree that everyone is entitled to there decision but i have to say that if someone comes out directly again to suggest im a bad mom that i might have to get rude back and i really do not like that. so im just going to ask if anyone who has flown with a lap baby i would like to hear how it went whether bad or good. over there it has not helped me at all

Wow, there is definitely nothing wrong with a lap baby!! I'm DREADING the day Landon is too old to be a lap baby. (It's 2 right?)

Landon has flown a total of 3 times (roundtrip every time) as a lap baby and did great. The first time he was maybe 6 months and just slept. Then again at 9 months and then again at around 18 months. He will be a lap baby again at 21 months. Basically the only hard thing is entertaining them and jerks who you will be flying with who are apparently too thick-headed to understand what flying must be like for babies! Babies want to explore, not sit still so it gets hard for them!

Just bring plenty of stuff for your little guy-snacks, toys, comfort items-and you should be good. Also, I know some airlines require you bringing a copy of the birth certificate so you don't try to pretend your 6-year-old is under the limit so he rides for free. :rotfl2:

Hi! Found your TR while searching. I'm taking my DD (who will be 13 mos) next month and I have a PTR in my signature that might help a bit with your planning and of course it'll all be done before your trip.

He is so ADORABLE!! Hope your planning is going well. You're going during my dream time. DH is a teacher so we're stuck with school breaks, but I WOULD love to go in October.
