My husband and I are leaving 4 weeks from tomorrow for Disney for 8 days and the free dining plan :goodvibes I was just wondering how many people re-checked their dining reservations before they left. If so, how do you go about doing this? Do they just ask for your name when you call or do you have to go by every confirmation number? Thanks!

Yes, I usually recheck mine....especially the biggies, like CRT, Fantasmic Package, or something I know that my kids have their hearts set on...I just call dining and say that I want to check my reservations....they are all attached,so they just read off the dates and times. Very easy to do,and it gives me a piece of mind.

To be honest, I'm afraid to. I would rather take my chances when I get there. If there is a mistake, it would be easier to be at the podium giving the Manager my sad, puppy dog face and hoping that they can squeeze us in rather than trying to beg a Cm over the phnone to find that one more table who can't do anything but tell me no.

Just my two cents...

I always re-check, once via phone about 2 months out and again at check-in.

I just call Dining and have them verify. Sometimes I call from different numbers (home vs. work) when I'm making my ressies so I like to get them all compiled into one list.

Then, after I've checked in at my hotel, I have Guest Services (although I think it is now called Concierge) run a list of my ressies that they can print and I can take to my room. I typically carry this list around with me so that I can show it at the podium if there is a problem.

Also, if there is a problem on my list, the Concierge person can usually fix it.

I always double check in case the time is wrong or number of guest and I am glad I did this time they had us down for 4 one one ressie.:thumbsup2

EXACTLY! I already had it reconfirmed just the other day for my trip in 42 days and they made 2 mistakes already!! I was really mad (wrong party number!!:sad2: ):headache: and they couldn't accomodate me since it was solid booked so i just told them to leave it alone and i will deal with it when i checked in at the resturants!!!

I write down all dates/times/names of the CM's each time I call to make/change an ADR.

I also note the time/location/date/Reservation # of each ADR I make.

I take the above information with me when I check in! Your resort will hand you a print-out of your entire ADR list upon your arrival if you ask. Check one list against the other, to ensure they match while still in the lobby. Ours matched, but if for some reason they would not have, I would have ask for assistance from the CM.

I am very careful about having all my conf# handy during my trip.I also only call ONCE to confirm before i go.The more they need to open up your ressies to view them the more chance there is of them screwing them completely up.

i always call right back to talk to a different cm and have them confirm the ressies. if you wait you do run the risk of a mistake that cant be changed, but if you confirm immediatly theres time to fix it.
if they do make a mistake and you show up at the wrong restaurant for a ressie, you will be turned away, theres no fixing it. free dining is very busy and most likely the restaurants wont be taking walk ups, so if you dont have a real ressie, you are a walk up. it takes 2 minutes to call, do it!

Yes I just checked mine for this coming trip. Call the Disney dining member and just tell the cast member you calling to verify.

I wrote them all down in the passporter but I always check just before vacation.

:cool1: :hippie: We take the #'s with us but never called to confirm, 3 trips with DDP and no problems, didn't need to pull out the #'s at any restaurant. But I don't think calling is a bad idea, maybe for Sept. we should call. Has anyone had a problem when confirming??

We've never called to confirm and never had any problems. We're staying club level for part of our trip this time, and IPO gave me a document listing all our adrs and confirmation numbers. Again though, everything was correct.

I may have them printed out at the resort (usually only if I've forgotten the times), but the more I have someone look them up in the computer, the more I think I am giving them the opportunity to change or delete them accidentally.

I'm with you too. I actually had this happen...

Reservations to Akershus were wrong and I did not know.

We arrived to the podium in Norway with my little girl all dressed up and they couldn't find our "name" but luckily I had our ADR number.

They looked it up and said that we had missed our reservation:eek: ...apparently the CM made our reservations for Nov 7 instead of Dec 7.

I called about 3 weeks before our trip and checked our reservation before we left and neither the first CM (that made the ressies) nor the second CM caught the mistake.

Had the second CM caught it I would not have been able to get reservations with such short notice. I would have never gone to Akershus...I went, in good faith that everything was fine. And I thought everything was!

Anyway, the manager came to the podium and he took one look at my little girl and whispered that he would "take care of us" and to "be patient while he worked us in". Less than 10 minutes later we were in our seat. Talk about Pixie Dust...:tink:

After our meal, I went to him with tears running down my face and thanked him for making my little girls dream come true (this was our only princess meal)...I'm tearing up now just thinking about it...he was amazing, he didn't have to do that and we were so thankful.

Now, that being said, I love to know everything is in order and I like to double check everything. I have heard/read of reservations being inadvertently canceled by a CM. (on the Dec trade reservation thread) Although, it has never happened to me.

:wizard: Here is to keeping our fingers crossed that it doesn't happen to any of us.

I checked yesterday and GLAD I did. She put one of our ressie's under wrong phone number (my number one digit off).

So I am new to the reservation thing and am close to my 180 days out. Do I need to call everyday for 7 days (at the 180 day mark for each day) for a reservation for everyday or can I make reservations for all 7 days at the 180 day mark?

I can make a number of reservations at one time correct?

I am confused :confused3 - HELP

If you are staying onsite at a Disney resort, the rule is 180+10 for most onsite restaurants. That means that if you are staying for 7 days, you can make all of your ADRs on your 180 day. Yes, you can make as many ADRs as you want on one call. I find it helpful to list them in order of importance to me and start with that one first, especially if you are going for something popular like CRT or Le Cellier. You WILL need your confirmation number in order to make any +10 ADRs.

HTH! :goodvibes
