If your parents let you bring a friend to WDW, who pays for food at restaurants, dinner shows, tickets? I would appreciate anyone's advice to this. Transportation and lodging are not an issue; we are staying in places with plenty of room and driving in our van.

when i went with my friend for vacation last year she payed for a lot of her meals, but we bought her tickets, u know since she was a guest.....and then she would split the price on some of the dinner shows, if i t was really expensive.

I went to WDW with a friend before, and then she went with my family. We both paid for our own airfare and park tickets. Meals were paid for by the family taking the person.

My DS is 15 and the friend is his present girlfriend (his third in the last year). I want to bring along a friend for him because I think it will make the trip more enjoyable, but we do have 13 and 9 year old sons and an 11 year old daughter. It's more like bringing a companion for him rather than a "guest" who is special to the family (I hope you know what I mean; I don't want to sound rude). If it was one of his buddies who have been around the house for years playing ball and feeling like another one of mine, I would treat it more like a guest, but this girl could be out of the picture by the end of the summer. I don't want to be paying for her meals :( She doesn't need to worry about the transportation or rooms because we are taking care of that. I can get her a discount on tickets. I can also get her a discount on meals, but I have only so much budget for my family of 6. How can we do this tactfully?

first of all, if you are paying for airfare and room, then I would expect her to pay for at least some stuff. I mean, cmon, youre right, she could be gone by the end of summer. I'm 15 and I know how fast some of my friends go thru girlfriends and boyfriends. treat her for some stuff, but I think she should not only pay for some of her stuff, but maybe even treat for your whole family but thats just me

As you said, she does not have to worry about transport or a room charge which is wonderful for her. I would assume that she would be aware that she would need to pay for her own meals etc. The only thing that I can suggest would be making sure everything is set prior to departure, so there are no conflicts upon arrival.

Have a great trip! :earsboy:

Thanks for your opinions. We'll see what happens. I do think I will consider having her parents give us meal money (within reason) ahead of time and buy her a hopper pass before we leave. And to bring her own $ for souveniers (which I would think would be normal anyway). That's if they say yes, anyway.

(Hope it was all right to pop in on your teen board) :D
