Day 12: Departure, the ride home, and final thoughts
We werent nearly as gung ho about driving home as we had been on the way down. We got up later than we wanted, and it seemed like we were never going to get out of there. I think I refilled my mug three times before we left that morning. It wasnt conscious, but I am sure I was dragging my feet somewhat. I was anxious to see my kitty, so there was one bright spot about going home.
We talked non stop on the way down, but we were both very quiet on the way back. It was rainy and dreary and we both took naps which made it even more boring for whoever was driving. It was a rather uneventful trip even though it seemed like it took way more than 10 hours.
The good thing is that we made more wonderful memories than I could have ever imagined, and we started talking about going back within a day or two. When we planned this trip, we did so with the intention of not being back again before we had a house, maybe a kid, etc, so we pretty much tried to cram everything possible into each day. It was great, but I can definitely appreciate the idea of afternoon breaks now. Weve since figured out that we are going to take trips to Disney as often as we can, so we can also plan to relax some too since we know we will be back! Our dream is to become Vacation Club Members someday, and I believe that eventually we will.
Our next big outing is tentatively planned for October 2008 when we plan to take a 4 day cruise on the Wonder in the middle of resort/park stay. Personally, I would be willing to make a quick 4-5 day trip later this year, but I havent quite convinced Stephan of it yet. I suppose there are other places we could go on vacation this year but who would want to do that?
Thanks to everyone who has followed along with us. I hope you have enjoyed reading about it as much as I have enjoyed reliving it all here.
