Who Knew Refillable Mugs Could Cause So Much Drama? MARCH 2008

Oh so you have to actually check in! I was under the impression that the Disney people wandered around the park asking random people if they were a veteran.:rotfl: Good to know!

"Excuse me, have you served in the military?...No?...Ok nevermind..." "Excuse me, have you served in the military?...Yes?...Was it during a war?...No?...Ok nevermind..." "Excuse me..." :lmao:

And you and your sister singing was funny, ohhhh the things we do to our siblings! :rotfl:

Isn't amazing how the parks (especially spectro parade can turn all all into kids again?

All I can say is thank Gaaawwdd my brother never embarassed me like that in any way:rotfl2: Yep that's my story and I'm sticking to it:rolleyes1

Does your sister know you posted the link?

We all have the best intentions of getting up early for rope drops. It doesn't always happen according to plan but it looks like you made up for it. You certainly got a lot done.

Just want to say that I am really liking your TR and can't wait for more! :goodvibes
I would not like to be stuck all the way back in the country section. That is my worst fear about staying at Music. Just curious, what did you do with your mugs while you were at the parks?

I just gotta say that I hope you kept your part of the bargain and rode ToT, cause the video was very entertaining :lmao: !!

Ok i need more, I am really wondering what your great refill debacle is!!!! I leave in 35 days and to contain myself from packing anymore ( i have packed my kids suitcase already) I am reading all these reports. I live in cali and grew up going to d-land. I have to say beyond philharmagic d-Land kicks the magic kingdoms butt and we have a mattahorn! Take that.... but than you have the little issue of the other 3 parks and world kinda takes the cake. But please dont tell d-land i dissed them!
keep it coming!

Actually looking back on it, the upcomming mug issue wasn't even that big of an ordeal but at the time it was. Didn't the words "refillable mug" and "drama" get your attention though?;)

Ah yes, Spectro is simply MAGICAL. :wizard:

Yeah, my sister does know I posted the link. She doesn't mind though, she knows about this whole report and although she doesn't have an account on DIS, she reads my report every time I updated. She often managed to remind me of some details that I had forgotten about but when she tells me it's like "ohhh yeah, i remember that."

Just want to say that I am really liking your TR and can't wait for more! :goodvibes

While in the parks, we just kept our mugs in our backpacks.

LoL Don't worry, I did indeed keep my half of the bargain!

great thread! thanks for the read! I am heading down tomorrow with my DW and my DD5

**Some of today's photos are a little fuzzy b/c they are pictures of pictures we took with a disposable underwater camera.**

Day 4 Pt. 1

We began the day with Blizzard Beach. We got there at rope drop so it was really cold. After grabbing lockers, we started off by circling around that lazy river thing for a while. A long while, trying to get our bodies to adjust to the cold water. It was really relaxing and for a good 15 minutes I swear we were the only ones in there!

SA700241.jpg

Come on it's lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you!

SA701423.jpg

SA701426.jpg

Just some people being lazy.

After that, we went to go ride the family raft, and then the Toboggan Racers.

SA701422.jpg

After the Tobaggan Racers

SA701424.jpg

Hello.

Next we went to go ride Slusher Gusher, the tamer version of Summit Plummet. The line was kind of long, nearly 30ish minutes but that's alright. Isn't waiting in lines what Disney is all about?

243359824YycBie_fs.jpg

Just a visual b/c I know some people haven't gone to the water parks. This is a photo of Summit Plummet that I found on someone's Photobucket. If this is a picture from your Photobucket, then please forgive me for using this. Slusher Gusher looks just like this except NOT. Actually, you can kind of see a small portion of it there on the left hand side of the picture.

While waiting in line, some airplane decided to write "Smile Jesus Loves You" in the sky and then drew a happy face. That was incredibly unexpected.

About 10 minutes before we got tot the front of the line, mom asked, "what are we standing in line for?"

I'm not exactly sure what she thought we were doing.

Kris and I pointed to the slide that we were standing in line for and mom was just like "Oh My God!" It was hilarious. As we kept getting closer and closer, mom kept saying "Oh My God" or "Are You Kidding Me?" Kris and I managed to convince her to stay. She had come up all those stairs!

When we got to the front, we were told to cross our hands over our chest and lie back. Kris went down the slide with no problem. When she got to the bottom, she even did a little dance to show mom that it was going to be okay! Mom was still freaking out and she forgot to lie back! That caused her to go down the slide all crooked like. She kept hitting the walls of the slide. The lifeguard and I had a good laugh but looking back on it, I realized how dangerous that could have been. She could have gone flying right off the slide! I guess Jesus was with us that day. The skywriters told me so. When I got down the slide, mom told me it wasn't that bad but she probably wouldn't do it again.

After Slusher Gusher, we all went back into the lazy river. We loved that thing! Then Kris and I rode one more tube slide ride but I don't remember what it was called. Mom said she had enough, no more slides for her!

SA701428.jpg

After the slide thing that I can't remember it's name.

When Kris and I were through, we got our stuff together and left. Some people can spend all day at the water park but not us. Maybe if it was summer but low 70 degree weather was just too cold for us.

I leave you today with some pictures we took on the way out.

Day 4 Pt. 2

We went back to the hotel to change out of our swim suits. Then it was back to the Animal Kingdom.

Kris on the long trek back to the Country section of All Star Music

SA700249.jpg

Too far...must...sit down...

SA700250.jpg

This picture makes me laugh. Mom looks like a lost little girl! :cutie:

I was surprised to see Rattcliffe standing out front. He is from Pocahontas and I thought Pocahontas wasn't one of Disney's best movies? Oh well.

SA700251.jpg

Getting our stuff together after the security check. Notice mom's Disneyland 50th Anniversary hat. This will become an issue on Day 6. :sad2:

SA700252.jpg

He'd help you to dig boys, but he's got a crick in his spine.

We ate at the McDonalds looking place in Dinoland again. I had the chicken nuggets kids meal. Kristina wanted to ride Dinosaur again so she grabbed some Fast Passes and then we went to Expedition Everest while mom just shopped or something. Who knows what she does really?

There was a group of teenagers standing in front of us in line. We eventually came to a point where the line started to snake and there were rope barriers and what not. The friends of the teenagers in front of us had gotten into the line later and ended up right next to us at one point, on the other side of the rope. The teens in front of us tried to convince their friends to climb under the rope and get in line them. I honestly would not have minded if it was just one or maybe two people but this was a group of about 10 kids who were planning on cutting over! I was getting very angry but I was too shy to say anything. Instead I just whispered complaints into my sister's ear, I was afraid if I said anything, the teens would just look at me like who the hell do you think you are? Luckily a lady standing behind us told the teens on the other side of the rope that if they crossed over, she would tell a cast member so they stayed right where they were. Thank goodness for that lady!

SA700253.jpg

Remember the picture of the Hindu couple I mentioned on Day 2 That was EVERYWHERE in the Kali River Rapids Queue? I found their picture again in the Everest Queue! Hard to see but it's there on the wall in the back.

After Expedition Everest, I realized it was getting late. I really wanted to ride Kilamanjaro Safaris in the evening because I heard that that is when all the animals are out and about and not sleeping. Also I think Kilamanjaro Safaris closed earlier than everything else in the park. I tried to convince Kris to forget about her Fast Pass for Dinosaur. I don't think it was that great of a ride, not compared to Indiana Jones in Disneyland that uses a similar ride system. She didn't like my idea though. I was getting really angry! After Dinosaur I said we should just go do It's Tough to Be a Bug because Kilamanjaro Safaris was probably not letting anyone in line anymore but Kris was all like "you never know!" I DID know but I don't know, I guess I just didn't want to let her "win" or something. We ran all the way across the park (Keep in mind Dinoland is on one side and Africa is all the way on the other) only to find out what I already knew. It was CLOSED! I was REALLY mad and didn't talk to her for a while. We did go to see It's Tough to Be a Bug but I was too upset to enjoy it.

After the Animal Kingdom, we went to Downtown Disney to do a bit of shopping. I don't remember much about it but in my notes it says that it was really crowded and also my legs were killing me. We went back to the hotel afterwards for a late dinner. I had some creamy tomato soup with breadsticks.

I leave you now with some pictures that we took in Downtown Disney.

SA700258.jpg

We need a little Christmas!

SA700255.jpg

Right this very minute!

SA700259.jpg

I love the color of Minnie's dress.

SA700254.jpg

Beautiful! The painting I mean.

SA700264.jpg

Now why can't there be a Mulan Potato Head? Or Mulan ANYTHING for that matter?

What a busy day! I can't believe that picture of the Hindu couple, that's hysterical!

I feel your pain! Mulan is my daughter's favorite princess, and I never find anything with her on it. So sad. :-( I'm enjoying reading your report, by the way.

How did I get so far behind?!?

I feel your pain, crossing AK! That is a long haul back to KS only to have it be closed. I do wish they had more Mulan stuff - she's the only princess who can kick ... derriere.

So. Somehow, even though I had subbed your report, I never got the updates. Hm..so instead of being able to avoid studying for my ap tests last week I caught up now instead of doing my english project. soooo much better!
Sounds like you guys are having a great trip so far. I'll admit to trying to open the wrong door before...except I was on the wrong floor...:confused3
I love how you said low 70s is cold! Makes me laugh! To me, low 70s is amazing.
Can't wait to read more!!!

It was! I only wish I could have stood closer to the painting to get a better picture.

Yes, Mulan merchandise is so hard to find. Once, I joked to my sister that I renounce my love for Mulan and my new favorite was Cinderella, just so I would be able to buy stuff with my "favorite" character on it.

Hold that thought about the wrong floor. Hold it until I get to Day 7. You'll see why.;)

Day 5 Pt. 1

Today we started off with a slightly rainy morning at Epcot. It was so nice to see the big ball all nice and clean, with none of those gaudy letters or the wand taking away from it's beauty. I ran to get Fast Passes for Mission: SPACE while Kris and mom headed over to Test Track. I met back up with them to find a 30 minute wait time but really it was more like 10 minutes. The ride was fun. Kris and I joked that instead of riding Test Track, we could just take a car ride with mom somewhere. :car: She is a really jerky driver.

SA700270.jpg

Kristina getting ready to leave

SA700267.jpg

I love this candid mirror pic of mom

SA700274.jpg

Here we have Kristina, all hyped up and excited to be at Epcot.

SA700275.jpg

In our Test Vehicle

SA700276.jpg

What is wrong with my face???

Kris and I did Mission: SPACE next while mom waited. Kris and I were very excited for this ride. We saw something on TV prior to this trip where the guy said "if more than one person died on the ride, you know it must be good!" The wait time was not long at all so we didn't even use our Fast Passes. There was a very familiar looking man on the pre-show video. I know I had seen him somewhere before but Kris and I could not figure it out. It wasn't till I got home when it clicked; that was the guy who played Lieutenant Dan from Forrest Gump!

gump05.jpg

Liutenant Dan. I love this movie! Also for the kiddies out there, don't smoke!

Kris and I chose to ride the Orange version of the ride, or the "intense" version. Well let's just say it was very intense. And claustrophobic too I might add. I normally don't have a problem with small spaces but I did feel a bit nervous when they closed our door, especially when I got sight of the barf bags.

I never get sick on rides but when I got off this one I was feeling kind of queasy! I told mom about it and she was VERY glad she decided to sit yet another ride out. Kris was feeling kind of okay though and wanted to see what the Green Team was like so she actually went back on the ride again to use her Fast Pass. I sat with mom and tried to rest my stomach.

SA700279.jpg

SA700283.jpg

SA700281.jpg

SA700292.jpg

Kristina doesn't know how to wear a space helmet properly. FAIL!

Ellen's Energy Adventure was next on our list. I like the ride but I wish the part with the dinosaurs was longer. After the dinosaur part was over, mom and Kris went to sleep. Ugh! I hate when they do that. It makes me feel like they are not getting their money's worth of the ride. I was still feeling queasy from Mission: SPACE. During all the scenes where the camera panned over the landscape or whatever I could feel my stomach churning. Ugh, can you believe it? Motion sickness from a FREAKING MOVIE!

SA700287.jpg

"From the sea...to the sky...it's a place, beyond our eyes..." You are a true DW freak if you know where that is from!;)

After that, we headed over to The Land. Soon after we entered the building though, the staff started to usher everyone out of the building and wouldn't tell us why. I tried to come up with back stories as to why they were doing this. Fire drill? Did someone with an infectious disease get in and the pavilion had to be disinfected? Did someone die on one of the rides? I never found out.

what am i going to do when this report is over, its like my little afternoon break time read!!!!!!

I've been away for the weekend (It's a Holiday weekend up here in Canada) and had a lot to catch up on. You've been very busy.

Never been to the waterparks. Maybe one day. I know I would like the lazy river. It's all the other rides I'm not sure about.

I'm not surprised your trip diary mentioned your legs were tired at DD. It had been a long day for you all.

I've stayed at ASMu before. The walk to your section is very long.
