Who is weathering the storm at the Fort right now?

How's the weather? Making it through okay? Expect so, just wondering how wild it is right now.

It seems a bit, just a bit, unusual to see tornado watches and red on the weather.gov map, that far inland!?
Just wondering what it is like, how close to the bad storms are the Fort and it's campers?
Sending pixie dust your waypixiedust: sprinkle if it keeps being a wild week!

Storm started about 2:30 was over by 4:30 and sun is out. Doesn't seem to be any serious damage. Haven't been around all the loops yet.

Nice to get a real time report, Arctic fox!

Heard there were trees down at the Fort, flying awnings and such, but that the tornado was more in the orange county area. With another possible next Sunday.

I like hearing that folks get through what they have to, ok. I'm just watching the weather patterns now that our turn is coming up and we are tenting.
The almanac, for all it's worth, forecasted a wetter year than normal. Seems like spring is colder/windy-er than the norm down there?:listen:

One thing for sure, it's definately colder than normal here at the bottom of the Midwest...frozen peach blossoms in the orchard, trooper daffodils under tons of snow. Good thing may be it pushes us to spring for a pop up rental for an extra level of weather protection.
April, y'all say, isn't that dramatic or wet, but it may be, this year. Or not. Amazing how the weather is always good for a topic, regardless of our control on the outcome. But camping is all about preparedness. ::yes::

All clear here at the Fort. Lots of small debris, but no major damage. The roads were cleaned up yesterday and looks like nothing hapened. I was at Downtown Disney when the storm passed along, but I secured my awning and other loose items. I was a bit concerned as I turned into my loop (800), it looked like a war zone with all the debris. When I got to the campsite, all was fine, nothing a blower and a broom could not fix. I did go out after the storm to see if any damages occured and I only saw one awning damaged on a motorhome, other than that everyone seemed prepared for the quick storm. Thats all I got here from the Fort.

Right now the temp is 60 and the winds are gusty. Needless to say it is very cold in the shade. Parks are packed but the Fort is quiet. Security crack down a couple years ago made a big difference. No golf carts with loud radios, horns honking, and kids riding around.

Temps will be coming up as the week goes on.

Happy Easter to everyone.

It was a crazy storm! We had friends come in for the weekend and we all huddled in our MH while I cooked dinner. The kids went out right before it started and said there were a bunch of limbs down all over. They had everything picked up pretty quick.

Crazy weather this trip! Warm in the upper 80's when we arrived, cold as heck the few days after the storm and warmed up so nice to make our last day INCREDIBLE!

I was ready to come home and I think I've got my fix. Until next week.....:rotfl:
