Who is waiting for SWA out of PVD?

Anyone else nervously waiting for DECEMBER :surfweb: . If the prices are in line with what we paid in January ($59 each way) then we can go. Had to inform dh today that if the price of $122 each way remains we can't go :guilty:

I booked yesterday for 8/30 ~ 9/3...not crazy about the prices, but hoping for a sale sometime this summer. We're going on a cruise so the dates are not flexible ~ we are returning on Sunday of Labor Day weekend which I thought would be harder to get a good sale price on.

We are also going on a cruise in January and I really don't want to go through this again with SW for those tickets....I was hoping Jet Blue would come through with some good prices for January. If I get a sale on SW for the August tickets, I think DH will be able to use the credit for his business travel and then we can get reimbursed from his company. This waiting around the computer is killing me....I don't think I'll be doing this again :guilty:

We're actually flying out of Manchester, but I checked PVD this morning and was surprised to see so much of it sold out for our dates. SW does a great business out of there. There's still plenty to chose from out of MHT.

We booked today-nine RT tickets from PVD to MCO. More than we wanted to pay! :faint: However, DH and I are just happy it is booked-the waiting was frazzlin! The way we look at it? Higher fares but free dining? Works out to still be under what we had origianlly budgeted for. You know, is the glass half full or half empty? ;) Added perks to flying SWA out of PVD for us? Nonstop and the airport is literally 10 minutes from our home. :thumbsup2

Amy-I would still keep an eye on the prices. Maybe you can get a credit to use for another trip. Congrats on booking! Wish I was 10 minutes away. We are at least 1 1/2 hours but I still find that easier than dealing with parking at Logan. We are also about 1 1/2 hours out of Manchester but we have go through Boston to get there so weekday mornings would be tough with rush hour.

Wonder how long I can wait....just saw a TV commercial this morning advertising the $59 one way to FL on SW (through June).

My dates didn't release so once again I will be sitting at this computer til 9/30 comes out. I keep thinking maybe we should just have rent a limo or something to take us out of logan, then I think naaaaaa, when you only live 10 min from green and it's so easy to get aroung there you get spoiled and dont want to go to the "big" airport...lol
So the wait continues. Will need anxiety medication when this is all done.

Cheapest rate at this time is $122 each way to Orlando from Prov. or Manchester :sad2: Last year I got a deal of $49 each way ,but the deal came out in late June or early July for trips in late August and Sept. I'll keep watching for a better deal.

Yep, booked Jet Blue too... Sept 14-20th.. Flown them before and are very happy with them.. $89 each way, leather & pre reserved seating, but for us.... the real bonus is Direct Tv on every seat!! No need to pack dvd player, and all the other stuff that goes along with entertaining on a plane

That sounds like Delta---which I loved btw (delta song which is no longer) ;) I was JUSt about to book Jetblue for my trip in Sept as they are the cheapest I can find, but wasn't sure....Do you pick seats AFTER you pay? I know on delta you pick then pay.

HELP! LOL I will book TODAY if I can get this answer :)

I'm in Plainville, MA waiting for October to open up. Should I go ahead and book the hotel now, at least?
I know... I know... serious newbie question...! :thumbsup2 Can you tell this is our first hike to Disney?

Sounds like we're neighbors!!!!!

We're waiting for Sept. 21-25th and for such a short trip a direct flight is the only way to go - and that means Southwest.

Lilacq - go ahead and book your hotel - we've had that reserved for about a year already! :goodvibes

Thanks for the tip, lovesdumbo. A credit for another trip would be cool! :thumbsup2

I'm a neighbor too, DBF works at Green (Cape Air) just a hop skip and jump away from my house. :thumbsup2

I have super nice parents (I owe them :worship: ), who are willing to drive us to logan at dawn on 8/27

Maybe some of us will be on the same flight :jumping1:

ETA: MissMichelle with Jetblue you chose you seats after you pay. They also tell you how many inches of leg room you get.

Hey there, neighbor!! Just to let you know that all of us started out as newbies at some point so feel free to ask away.

I usually book my hotel before my air since SW's schedules are only out up to 6 months in advance. Then I keep my eye open for any discounts on the hotel, rental car, etc. Once I come home from WDW, I start the wheels in motion planning the next one...

HTH!!!

:wave2: Hello!
Anyone else flying SWA out of PVD on August 27th?

Unfortunately, we'll be flying INTO PVD on the 27th. We leave on the 18th for WDW.

Sigh.. I need to book Aug 31 - Sep 4 out of Providence. I was all excited when I saw the Southwest release notice.... And then I saw the fares! Yikes! I don't like the thought of that $260 rt. I decided to hold off purchasing my flights for now. I have RR award credit for two one ways that I can use if the fares don't drop. Sigh.

Live on the RI/Mass line so Logan is only about 40 miles while Green is about 20-25, but what adifference those 20 miles make! We leave next on SWA direct from Green and paid $933 for four back in Dec, (that is total with tax, think fares were $200 each.) Been planning 2 other trips, one a business one I take every summer to Minneapolis, and the other a weekend wedding in FLA (other side) in June. The fares are crazy now, Minn trip is more than what I have paid 60 days and we are 120+ out, June wedding is also much more than I would expect. Think the gas prices are creating quite a mess with airlines, I would seriously consider the $260 tix on the direct on SWA. Just my 3 cents. Best of luck to you! :wizard:
