Who is up and running with their Verizon Iphone today

My dh got his on Monday and LOVES it! We were able to get it going that day (the 7th) and he's been playing around with it ever since! He really needed a smartphone for work but was putting it off...now I can't wait until I can upgrade but poor me...I can't do it until July!!!

I am in iPhone heaven

Had my new iPhone on Monday. Happily tossed my 6 yr old flip phone. My original ipod touch has been downgraded to back up kid entertainment. All my aps run on the iPhone (my iPod touch was so old a lot did not). I love only having to carry 1 thing around with me instead of three (phone & ipod & mini speaker for iPod). I am like a little kid with a new toy. Last night I realized my grocery store ap would scan barcodes. Now I have a mile long list of foods on my grocery list just for fun

I think I am going to pick one up after work today. For whatever reason, there doesn't seem to be huge lines around here so I think I'll go check it out. My upgrade date isn't until Monday, but I have an upgrade available on one of the kids lines so I can use that. I'm not sure how that works though-do we just switch dates with the 2 phones or do both phones get extended for 2 years and I lose the original upgrade for my phone? I have to go check it out later as long as I don't have to wait in a huge line.

Yup, lovin' it!!! Preordered mine on the the 3rd and rec'd it Monday. Waited
until that night to set it up and activate it...no problems doing that whatsoever! I'm still playing around with it and have only loaded a few apps so far. I also have the 4th generation touch, so I have over 120 apps to go
thru! I am looking for a good bar scanner app, so if anyone can recommend one I would appreciate it!!! You will love it when you get it!!

I think you buy it under the phone number that is available for the upgrade and then switch the phone to the number you want it on after your purchase. So your kids line will be available two years from today's date and then you do the same thing on your number when you child needs the upgrade. Did that make sense - because I'm not sure I worded it correctly.

Like a lot of pervious posters... I have had mine since Monday. LOVE IT. Almost zero learning curve. I think having an iPad already helped a lot.

First, I have had no mechanical or performance issues whatsoever. Even the wifi hotspot app worked with all our other devices. No glitches, mysterious restarts, anything of the sort. VERY refreshing. Love the responsive nature of the touch screen. It's a solid little device. I am going a little crazy with the apps... this morning's app was the Tide Stain Brain.

I am loving mine!!! Picked it up this morning at an empty Verizon store. There had to be about 12-15 employees ready to help me when I walked in... I asked the clerk and she told me they had a line of about 25 when they opened but had been pretty quiet since.

I didn't realize it just came out in the stores today. I went to Verizon to go see when I was able to upgrade. I was able to early upgrade for 20.00 and got the new IPhone-- can't wait to "play" with it more.

No, thank goodness. That's probably why Verizon's phone network is so much more reliable. I do think the fact it turns into a broadband wifi hotspot for 5 devices is just amazing. I used to have to tether my phone to my laptop for broadband wireless and it was not always easy.

I went around 2pm today-no lines at all! They let me use the upgrade from another phone and then it just switches dates with my upgrade date so I still have 2 lines that are available for upgrades. Now my kids are bugging me for iPhones but I don't think I'm spending another $60 for them to have them. My phone bill would be like a car payment!

After swearing against all smart phones, I FINALLY decided to break down & get the iphone as my "1 yr upgrade" on Verizon. Sooooo, after waiting in line for 1.5 hours at Best Buy tonight, I was told they couldn't do 1yr upgrades. I had already called Verizon today to make sure it would be ok. I wanted the $199 to go towards my Best Buy rewards points. I guess I'll just go to a Verizon store tomorrow!

ps---I know NOTHING about smart phones/iPhones/nada! I can't wait to learn about all the apps & such. I think it will be a blessing as we take "educational roadtrips" for my kids homeschooling

There were only 30 people waiting for the store to open this morning in our area. No issues. DH was working security, there were lines made around the building and parking lot as if expecting hundreds?

About midnight one couple showed up, then a few others came closer to 5 am. Not many in line at 7 am opening.

Not sure why dd 15 wants one. Her tracfone use is about 50 minutes a month. She has an Itouch she sleeps with. First thing one and last thing at night.

She has a netbook from Verizon for traveling. She cyber schools so I take her with me on work assignments.
I know she would love either the Ipad, or Iphone, but we are overloaded with tech items as it is.

If she had a job and wanted it, maybe that would be different.

I guess it is all the apps and music is her real love.
