Who is the Rarest Character to have a photo/Meet & Greet with?

I don't know how rare this is but we have gone to disney every year for the last 12 years. Last year we saw Jiminy cricket at conservation station for the first time ever.

The Fairy Godmother is kinda hard to find. She is on the backside of the castle at MK. This is the only place where you can meet & greet her. I guess you can consider that "rare"

the short answer is me.

the long answer is characters go on rotation. who's rare today can be exceptionally common the next day.

jiminy is one prime example. it used to be he'd only be out for earth day. then he's been at conservation station daily since december 2006, he even started appearing in the MK daily in addition to.

Daisy is another many still mistake for still being rare.

We got Jiminy on the Disney Magic in January. DD was so excited as this was the first time we've ever seen him.

And we used to see the Fairy Godmother at 1900 Park Fair all the time. Not sure if she's still there. She joked that she was tired of writing out her name so she joked that she was shortening it to F.G. Ma. :rotfl2: It's now a joke for DD and I everytime we see her or her name anywhere.

My daughters are always excited when we see Marie from the Aristocats. Out of our many trips to Disney in the past 3 years, we have only seen her twice. Once in the Hollywood Studios and once at the Magic Kingdom.

Marie is another example. she's rare now, but rumored to be very common beginning later this year

Marie used to be quite rare. Now, she is appearing pretty often near Club cool in Epcot, as well as at the Toontown Train Station in the Magic Kingdom.

Check the link in my signature for the character finder - it has a pretty good indicator of who is common, rare, etc. Note that the ones classified as "very rare" are pretty much impossible to meet - they are all but retired (or more likely ARE retired).

Hi t_catt -- I love your site but wish that it was possible to see more than the most recent 10 entries. Having a page that shows the entries in the order submitted or maybe the last 50 entries would be helpful. I check back every few weeks but am always afraid I've missed some rare character sightings because more than 10 entries have been made since my last visit. This forces me to search out and click on the links of all the individual rare characters I'm interested in to see if there was a recent sighting.

I someday hope to get Brer Rabbits Autograph.
I always see Brer Bear and Brer Fox.
I gotten Kronks autograph a long time ago at Disneyland--the only time
I ever seen him--the Lama Emperor was with him but could not sign.
That was whenever the movie was 1st out.
Whenever the New Mexican ride in Epcot 1st came out
I was so looking forward to meeting the other two birds ( Panchito and Joe Carioca) from the
movie "The 3 Caballeros" but whenever we were able to get to
there only Donald who was dressed in Mexican attire was there.
The CM said that the 2 other birds were unavailable.
I look everytime we go to Epcot and have never seen them,
just Donald.
I wish that WDW would rotate some of the characters so that
more of the hard to find ones could be found.

Hmm. I'll see what I can do with this.

I may be wrong here (total n00b, first ever post, imagine a timid voice and downcast eyes) but I'd think the characters representing the newest movie in the Animation Building at HS would have the potential to be the rarest.

In 2007 I missed seeing Remy and Emile there by a matter of weeks. Now they've vanished, with no current plans to return.

In May this year I was lucky enough to see Bolt and Rhino there (sadly no Mittens). Now they've vanished, with no currrent plans to return.

I'm hoping the Up characters will still be there in December so I can meet them (haven't seen the film yet since it's not out here until mid October, so don't know their names, sorry). When they leave that building/are replaced by a newer film's characters, there's a chance they'll vanish too, I'd imagine. So might be an idea to see them while you can. Although it doesn't sound like Tiana and co. are going to be in HS, so maybe the Up guys will get a good run.

well now you've done it.

you want rare? how about 1 single appearance ever?

yes, hathi. he was introduced for an AP jungle book dvd party. i'm guessing his size is one key reason he's not kept around for the viewing public.

Bradk - I LOVE IT!!! I didnt know they had the Col.!! Have a question though... I would assume its kind of expensive to make a costume (??) so why make it and only use it once? I guess if your going to only use it once what better than the opening of a park but still...why only once?

make a costume?

he's available for private arrangements and bar mitzvahs. that's all i know.

Scrooge McDuck. I believe he's sometimes out for MVMCP, but we didn't manage to find him any time we've been to one of the parties. :sad1:

Bayou Mickey :ssst:

but seriously, I haven't seen the pigs around lately...
