Who is the Rarest Character to have a photo/Meet & Greet with?

Briar Bear out from of AK
Jiminy Cricket at Rafikis Planet watch
Govener Ratcliff at DS in Animation studio and out front of AK
Prince John and Friar at DS in Animation studio.
Max w/ Goody at DS animation studio

Not technically a character, but has anyone seen the Coral Reef? I haven't seen it in years...like 5 years, I think. Used to hang out by the Living Seas before Nemo was added.

Who/what is Coral Reef? Does anyone have a picture? I've never heard of them/it.

The rare characters for me are Daisy Duck and Snow White; I have never got to meet either of them!

I met Tarzan, Jane, and the monkey who's name I can't remember during the MNSSHP, as well as a couple of villans like the Queen of Hearts and Jafar. We also met Mad Hatter, the Walrus, and the White Rabbit at that party.

We had Mary Poppins and Bert at a small private breakfast and they were so much fun. The kids got to spend about 30 minutes with Bert's antics and Ms. Poppins manners. Those photos are priceless to me.

What is Disney's reason for keeping some characters rare while making others overly available?

I can see that some costumes may be harder to manage (Dumbo), but why is The Queen from Snow White, Malificent, etc. rare? Not everyone digs the princesses, some of us like the Villains.

Is there some advantage to Disney for not making as many characters as possible available? What is their reason for keeping some characters rare?

I've seen Meg, altough it may have been a very rare sighting. She was at Epcot World Showcase on the bridge between France and the UK. She looked great, it was awesome. This was just this past April.

You know who I miss that I haven't seen in a very long time...Cruella DeVile. She was totally awesome.

Last Time I saw Meg and Hercules, it was in 1997 or 1998 for the Hercules parade in (then MGM Studios) Disney Hollywood Studios. The parade was rlly cool! They had all the characters of hercules I'l post pics later if i can figure it out hah

We saw Wall-E last Sept at the Animation Building. He didn't move or anything - more like a statue. We also saw Sorcerer Mickey in there as well as the Incredibles and Frozone. Not that they are rare or anything but those characters were all in there at the same time.

This past week Fro-Zone from Incredibles was at Hollywood studios, and we Met maxx (goofy's son in epcot). We got great pics with them!

And Friday (9/4) Cinderella was at Akershus (she is rare there)

I've heard people have met Maxx, but in all our trips we've never seen him.

He appeared with Marie, and Rafiki

You know the ones I'm talking about, the ones that think the Magic Kingdom is DISNEY WORLD. DUH

I was on the bus talking with these people. You know when you are on a bus you need to small talk (we were coming from GF). They asked me "Where did I spend most of the day?" I said "Epcot". What park did you go to?" They said "Disney World". I said "Yes, I know but what PARK?" They looked at me like I had 3 heads then said in a nasty tone "DIS NEY WORLD, the one with the castle". I said "OH MAGIC KINGDOM".
They got nastier and said "NO, DIS NEY WORLD (announcing each syllable). I finally said (announcing each syllable as well) "I UN DER STAND BUT WE ARE ALL IN DIS NEY WORLD WHILE WE ARE ON THIS BUS. THE PARK WITH THE CASTLE IS CALLED MA GIC KING DOM." I talked to them like they were hard of hearing
I wanted to hit them with my bag LOL Glad you are not one of "those".

No, I'm definitely not one of "those" - though I might be tempted to pretend to be one of those someday

And I mentioned Terry Young was the old CEO of Marvel, now at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame - it is Terry Stewart; I got the name wrong. Terry Young is a rock and roll DJ on XM Radio. I point it out as evidence of the "blurring" of characters in movies/TV vs Music. Disney has a solid roster of new music talent that will over time pay the kinds of dividends the Princesses have. But Disney has the resources not to wait that long - and instead of waiting for the Miley Cyrus crowd to become a golden demographic (able to buy disney trips and media products for their kids), I wouldn't be surprised to see Disney acquisitions in the music arena. Some possibilities:
- Major artist catalogs and likeness rights
- buying a label
- rock and roll hall of fame, or hard rock cafes
- ticketmaster or other promotional companies
- others, like performance venues

Some of these could tie to the parks, some might not. All could fit the overall Disney portfolio.

Anyway, interesting stuff...

I also agree with a previous poster, DD would LOVE to meet Panchito and Jose from the the 3 cabelleros, that was her absolute favorite ride this year (last year it was nemo)

we met clarice? chip n dales girlfriend at the mk outside the train station last september.
No photo hubby had run off with the camera but she was a curvy chipmunk

clarice has gotten pretty rare but i think she's started to meet at animal kingdom at the good times gathering spot

Can anyone tell me if we will see any "different" characters at the Christmas Party? I know people have said they saw the 7 dwarfs at the Halloween party, but I am wondering about Christmas. Will the dwarfs all be there and is there any other character there that I might not see on the other days at the park?

What I would do to go back in time to be able to get meet and greets with Darkwing Duck and Launchpad Mcquack! Darkwing Duck you could say got me into superheroes really lol, one of my FAV Disney Afternoon toons.

I'm really suprised after reading this threat how many retired/rare characters there are and how many I forgot about, but the rare picture/meet and greets got me thinking.

On my recent trip, we were walking through HS early morning and the power rangers were just hanging out, so the little kid in me, was like YAY! The photopass photographer said c'mon over. RPM green posed me, OO Yellow put the hood up and the Pink MF ran over to join the pic. I just wish SPD Red was there as well, but to get all of them at one time like that is just unheard of at least in my opinion. If Red was there, that means it would of been every color cept black! lol
