Who is the Rarest Character to have a photo/Meet & Greet with?

Quite a few years ago, we did one of the family tours that were offered. I forget what it was called, but it was a scavenger hunt. It was definitely geared towards families with younger children. We enjoyed it though. At the end, we had a surprise meet n greet with Peter Pan. The kids were excited, because we had never seen him before (nowadays you can find him near Pirates) but the best part was, he took both of my kids' hands and skipped with them over to the Peter Pan ride and then rode it with them. It was really cool.

Thanks for posting this thread. I love reading about different sightings of characters.

I think the rarest characters at the moment include Rabbit, Darkwing Duck, Mr. Walrus, the 6 Dwarves besides Dopey, Prince Eric, Snow Prince, and others.

On our last trip earlier this year, we saw a dwarf besides Dopey. I can't remember if it was Grumpy or Doc, but we saw him in the MK. As soon as you walk into the park, there is a store over to the right, right next to Tony's Town Tavern. There is a meet n greet place in there. The characters rotate. The Dwarf (that I can't remember exactly who), Pinocchio, Snow White, and others.

The rarest character at WDW? I'd say that's Daffy Duck. I've only seen him there once.

Actually, I didn't see him. But I remember one guy pointing and saying to his kid, "Look, there's Daffy Duck!"

Strangely, he was pointing at Donald, but I assumed Daffy was behind him or something.

Has anyone seen Jaq Jaq and Gus Gus out and about recently? I love them and would love to get a pic with them! I've seen Suzy and Perla out in Toontown, but never the boys.

All the talk about the Disney Afternoon characters has me wondering if anyone's seen them in the past couple of weeks.

I saw on a website that Darkwing and Max pop up in the Toontown teardrop and that Launchpad is sometimes in the town square of Main Street early in the days and at the Oasis in AK at beginning of the day. I'm just wondering if this is still all true or if that was outdated information.

Also, does Scrooge McDuck pop up any time other than holidays? And does Ludwig von Drake exist at all? As I therapist I'd appreciate getting a picture taken with a character so clearly based on Freud.

The Fairy Godmother is kinda hard to find. She is on the backside of the castle at MK. This is the only place where you can meet & greet her. I guess you can consider that "rare"

You can see the Fairy Godmother daily at 1900 Park Fare

Isn't Daffy Duck a Looney Tunes character? Then I don't think he would ever be at Disney World!;)

:lmao: Good one!

You know what, I think they should have a character meal that consists of the characters from the latest movie (it would be Up right now) and a few of old/rare characters. A meal where the characters are changing out every few months and you don't know what you're going to get. That would be pretty cool.

Joanna,

Geocities is closing in Oct, you should move over to webshots like I did, than we can link our pages together :)
The rarest characters in my book are the ones I haven't had the pleasure of meeting yet. Such as:
Quasimodo
Phoebus
Clopin
Hercules
Prince Eric
Flounder
Thumper -but I hear he's coming to Animal Kingdom soon with his girlfriend!

The ones that I have met that I consider rare finds are:
Rabbit
Megara
Esmeralda
Maleficent
and so on...

We saw Max and Gideon at Epcot in the World Showcase on July 14th. They were in what appeared to be a little alley to the left of the US . I saw someone say they wanted to find Mulan. She was also out that day in China in the WS. I felt kind of bad for her. I don't think people knew she was Mulan, maybe they just thought she was dressed in costume for the area. But my kids did enjoy a few minutes and a short walk with her alone. She was on the right side of China before you go to the left to go to the shops. Alice and the White Rabbit were on the Tomorrow Land side of the Teacups that same week in the MK. Mary Poppins and Pinochio were in the square in front of the Kodak building as soon as you walk into MK. Snow White actually walked out into the square for a few minutes. The Fairy Godmother was on the back left side of the Castle. Buzz Lightyear was by the Carousel of Progress. Stitch was also out in Tomorrowland. Tink, Rosmerta (sp), and the fairy in the yellow dress were in toontown at the Fairy meet and greet. Lady Tremaine and the Stepsisters were out, I think in some sort of small amphitheater. We didn't get to visit as their show had just finished and they weren't letting any more people in to meet them. mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Peter Pan, Captian Hook, and others were in the Castle show. Chip, Dale, Meeko, and the Brothers from Brother Bear were at the Camp Minnie Mickey dance. Some of the most interaction. They were right out in a crowd playing games and dancing with the kids. Jiminy Cricket and Rafiki were at Rafiki's Planet Watch. Annie and Leo from Little Einsteins were at DHS back near the Playhouse Disney show. As was Handy Manny. The Increidibles and Frozone were in the animation building at DHS. Frozone was actually in the room where you draw with an animator for a few minutes. The characters from UP were in the animation building also. Obviously Lightning McQueen and Mater were at DHS back near where the Muppets are, really sort of tucked away. I hope this helps someone.

Also, does Scrooge McDuck pop up any time other than holidays?

I asked a CM who said he's only out around Christmas... It's just so disappointing, it's like WDW is unaware of how huge Scrooge comics are in so many countries. I love them and I'm not even a nerd! Wonder if they've even heard of the legend Carl Barks and my personal favourite Don Rosa?

I didnt go thru all the pages but I think this ones pretty rare

we met clarice? chip n dales girlfriend at the mk outside the train station last september.
No photo hubby had run off with the camera but she was a curvy chipmunk

That's so weird, he always seem to be hanging around there with Foulfellow when hubby & I are in MK...

Has anyone mentioned Gideon from Pinocchio? I got my pic with him back in 2007 by the Goofy Statue on Town Square in MK. (...) Anyway, that's the only time I've ever seen in 15+ trips.

They have the UP characters in HS.

I remember way back when they had a very odd character meal in the former MSM. I do believe Playhouse Disney replaced the meal LOL
I remember seeing Hunchback of Notre Dame and some other odd characters.
I would have to go into my old albums to figure out who else. It was before I got my digital

I loved it before characters were mobbed by people and it wasnt such a scheduled apperancre when they would just pop up out of no where at birthday lunch we had Governor Ratcliffe from Pocahontas I had only ever seen him in shows before

As I was flipping through the pics last night I remembered a couple of more. Pocahontas was at Animal Kingdom over on the left hand side of the park. I think it was near pizzafari. Off in a little alcove. During the mad rush in Epcot for everyone to get Test Track/Soarin'/etc fast passes the big ones (Mickey, Donald, Goofy, etc) were in The Epcot Character Spot in one of the buildings surrounding the fountain. Poor Donald was standing by the big glass windows waving for people to come in and people weren't even looking. Not a bad spot. We came back to it for pictures and it was inside and air conditioned with cartoons playing for the kids to watch. Nice and bright, not at all dark like the Judges tent. We did go to the Judges tent in toon town and meet Mickey and Minnie. There is also a inside meet and greet across from Toy Story at Disney Hollywood Studios.

I NEED TO MEET ROBIN HOOD! :) I mentioned this in another thread, i apparently met him when i was 2 in 1988, and i sooo badly want to meet him now. I'd love to frame the pic from 88 and a pic of me with him now. He's my favorite character. I see that in the past year he's been spotted more than before, but i never seem to luck out :( I think it'd pretty much make my life to meet him.

Or Esmeralda. She's my favorite female character.
