Who is the nicest celebrity you've ever met? The rudest?

Here is DW MeanLaureen's list of nice and rude celebrities she has met.

Actually she hasn't met any TV, Movie or Music type celebrities (although she has seen some, just not talked to them). She does get to meet a few politicians at her store though. The nicer ones were Chuck Robb, Jim Gilmore (then-Governor of VA - very VERY nice, but he didn't realize she didn't vote for him :teeth: ). She has also met Don Hall, owner of Hallmark Cards, Inc and grandson of the founder of Hallmark. Very down to earth and showed up at her store in a beat up old hotel van. You would think someone with his mega $$ would be in a limo.

As far as rude is concerned, the only really rude one she has run into is a former mayor of Richmond (no names mentioned because he still shops in her store..lol) She's also met Ollie North - he wasn't "rude" but he was definitely snobbish and looked down on people.

She was supposed to meet Paul Simon, Chevy Chase and Steve Martin when she was in one of Paul Simon's videos shot in Richmond but they blew her off. She still is in the video (if a 10 second shot counts..lol)

and makes me realize that I reallllly need to get out more, never having met anyone remotely famous myself! DH spent an evening drinking at a bar with Wally Mathers (as the Beav). Seemed "just like a normal drinking buddy" (which I guess is praise!). Cousin of mine went with his high school marching band on a plane to WDW and who should come out of first class chasing after her small son but Jamie Lee Curtis! Cuz said that every teenage boy around him was just (ahem) goggle eyed...

The nicest was Bob Hope.

The rudest by far was Lewis Grizzard, with Greg Norman and Lee Trevino tied for close seconds.

Jack Nicklaus
My dad met him (actually helped him in an airport when they were having some problems with the plane Jack's wife and child (daughter?) were on) and he said he was extremely nice.
As far as celebrities my parents have met, my dad met a lot of the old-time astronauts when he was working at NASA....He said Neil Armstrong was way too "full of himself", but he really liked Alan Shepherd and John Glenn. My mom met Lyle Alzado in an elevator and met Peter Graves when he came to Phillip Morris (he was going to be Grand Marshall in some parade that Phillip Morris was in charge of) and said they were both extremely nice.
I met Tony Dorsett, Rulon Jones (not much of a celebrity-but he did play football for the Broncos), Terrell Davis (before he was a star-he was still at University of Georgia), Boomer Esiason, Steve Young, and Tommy Moe. Tony was very, very unfriendly. Rulon was so sweet and he had kind of a bad reputation so I wasn't looking forward to meeting him when I saw he was one of the few players that actually was giving out an autograph in the rain at Broncos training camp. Terrell was also a sweetheart. Boomer Esiason was cool, considering that I literally ran into him. Steve Young was kind of unfriendly. Tommy Moe was really nice and flirted with me bigtime. The two celebs I'd do almost anything to meet are Elvis Stojko and John Elway (I bet both of them are very nice in person.)

I met Ed Rendell (former Mayor of Philadelphia who is currently running for Pa governor), he's very personable and genuinely friendly.

I also met Gerraldine Ferraro , who ran for VP in the 80's. She spoke at my college and was kind enough to let me take a picture with her. Her staff who was with her was very laid back, they were calling her "Gerry", not "ma'am", not "Ms Ferraro" or anything formal. Very casual and down to earth.

I never had a bad experience with a celeb.

OOooohh! I forgot about Greg Norman--another supreme jerk of the world, IMHO, based on my dealing with him.

Bill Cosby was very nice and very silly :)

Anita Baker was very nice but sugary sweet lol

Most of the hockey players I know are pretty nice too.

I havent really has a bad run in with a celeb. though I got to see Cher up close and personal ( a security guard let me see her tour bus) and she was ummmmm interesting.

I forgot Issac Asimov. I met him at a Star Trek Convention. He was so nice about autographing our books and even chatting with us as he was leaving. What an honor to meet him. When I was a kid, the very first fan letter I wrote was to Tony Dow and Jerry Mathers (Leave it to Beaver). They were very kind and sent me autographed pictures. YEARS and I do mean years, later, Jerry Mathers was at a convention and I showed him the old picture that he signed and he was thrilled that I had been a fan for so long. He signed the new picture the same way he signed the first picture. I also met The Lone Ranger. I can't think of his real name now (senility rules!). He was very old, but such a gentleman. He signed autographs for hours until his strength gave out. At this same convenvtion I met Adam West (Batman) and whoever it was that played Robin. All very sweet and happy to see that fans still remembered them.

I believe that Clayton Moore was the Lone Ranger and that Burt Ward was Robin.

The nicest that I have ever met. :)

Hey Cindy, I was also an extra in Taps-------and I would have to agree--Tom Cruise at the time was very nice. In fact I have several pics of him. He was so young and an unknown. We use to go out (not on dates---just out as a group)with him, Sean Penn. One night we even took them to Philly.

No on the other hand--Timothy Hutton, what a snob. He arrived on the set the day after he won his Oscar----he was not well liked.

Cindy, what scenes was your hubby in---ask him if he was in the parade scene, chapel scene and the party. I saw many of the scenes filmed. Also is your hubby a long time Wayne resident---wonder if he knows an old actor boyfriend whose family were and I think still are long time Wayne residents.
