Who is the most famous person you know?

I'll fill you in on the details UncleKyle!!! BUT only speedos are allowed no trunks! LOL just kidding!;)

Kim

i've met a lot of famous people, but i don't really *know* that many of them.

i think the closest i can get is bill joy. i doubt many people here will know him, so i guess he is probably not that famous, but it's a good thing in geek circles. :p i know some other well-known people but no one really "famous." :)

I know Kathy Mattea (female country vocalist) ... gave a wedding shower and was in a wedding party with her and I know Kathy Westmoreland, who sang back up for Elvis, as well as her sisters, who sang back up for Wayne Newton, and Bobby Goldsboro. My DFIL taught Robert Redford fencing in college, and my DD was on Alan Jackson's daughter's soccer team one year.

This has been a fun thread to read!

I grew up in Hollywood with both parents being Make-up artists. I have met so many famous people I can't even begin to make a list. But it was mostly in the 70's and early 80's so some may not even be famous now.

I am trying to think who we knew personally then that would still know me today. Connie Chung was one of dads best friends when she worked on CBS local news. If I were to call her up right now she would know who I was.

Jim Hill the sports commentator was a good friend of the family while he worked on the local CBS news too. He used call me "Little Fox" because he knew it embarassed me.

I met Charlies Angels several times, I have my picture with them. I met the cast of 3's Company several times. I was just a teenager but could tell even then that John Ritter was a great guy.

My dad worked the academy awards every year but I never got to go. Every time someone famous was coming into the studio were he worked he would bring me in.

My parents did have famous people as good freinds but like I said I was pretty young and can't remember anyone right off the bat.

I did a movie with Marty Allen when I was about 8. I still have lots of pictures.

The lady whose house I had my first wedding at was the god mother to one of the singers of The Knack (famous for the song My Sharona) I knew him pretty well and he was at my wedding. Wouldnt know him today though.

OH yeah... I know my son who did an Isuzu commerical when he was 4! :p

Oh, and my eighth grade teacher was married to Chicago Bears quarterback, Virgil Carter. He came to our junior high and taught us all how to throw a mean spiral pass!

I am neighbors and friends with an illustrator. You would know her if you've ever read. Love You Forever! Her name is Sheila McGraw. It's a children's book if you don't know it. She has signed books for me when I have given them to friends.

I don't like KNOW anyone famous. I shook hands and talked to Former President George Bush when I was much younger, but, my brother has talked to him many times because he worked at a store where Bush goes when he comes down to Kennebunkport. Talked to him quite a few times..got to by the end of the visit he called him by his name! He also waited on some other politian..I had never heard of him, but my parents knew who he was.

My uncle had dinner next to Barbara Eden...he got her autograph and talked to her, too! He gave me her autograph...I thought that was the coolest thing ever!

I got my picture taken with Kevin Millar and talked to him for a while when I was younger. He played for the Portland Sea Dogs then(A ball). I also shook hands and met Cal Ripken when I went to a game in Baltimore with my cousins.

I would die if I ever met any of the Red Sox. I am totally obsessed with the Red Sox. The Patriots, too, for that matter. I have the biggest crush on Tom Brady :lovestruc !! :teeth:

Please tell her thanks! for me. It's a lovely, lovely book and I even still tell my 24 year old, "as long as I'm living, my baby you'll be!"

Well, I don't "know" people personally, but I have meet a LOT of famous people...

Hmm... I took a careers class and my teacher knew a ton of famous people, and he called up Randy Jackson from AMERICAN IDOL and he came in
...
That was cool. He asked us (the class) who like to sing, and OFCOURSE I raised my hand, but only until he asked me to sing.
That's when I put my hand down.
...
I saw Halie Berry at CityWalk.
...
I think we used to live next to Christopher Llyod when I lived in Hollywood.

Some of you have met such interesting people. Boots, to the best of her knowledge, has never even met anyone famous, much less knows someone!!

lets see...know know would have to be packers receiver Donald Driver. Would recognize me and kind of know me...Brett Favre and Mike Sherman.

I work in sports at a Television station in Green Bay and am familiar with plenty of Wisconsin athletes.

I went to high school with a guy who is now a professional story teller and musician, he goes by the name of Odds Bodkin. My orthodontist's son is Darren Starr, the guy who created 90210 and a few other tv shows. My husband is friends with a couple who did special effects for In the Heat of the Night TV show (filmed 10 miles from where we lived) and a few movies (Speed 2, Die Harder). And once I met Govenor Arnold, it was in the 80s, he was pretty famous for body building by then, he was outside of a bar in DC with 2 young ladies. I was on a plane with Jerry Springer once, but couldn't figure out who he was, no glasses, and I just couldn't place him for the longest time. And my first boyfriend is the tuba player for the Cincinnatti Symphony.
But I don't really know anyone famous, I just wanted to add my little brush with fame, as it were.

Nope, Darren Starr created it, Aaron Spelling produced it, he also created Sex in the City and Melrose Place.

you made me remember -- way back when, my orthodontist was the dad of jon fishman of phish fame. they lived up the street from us. :)

I saw Arnold, Maria and her mother in a grocery store here in D.C. It was bizarre seeing him just shopping in there like any other person. He is much smaller and shorter than I would have imagined. She is prettier in person - her features are so exaggerated on camera but she looks softer in real life. And that Kennedy mother -- well, there is no mistaking who her family is!

Oh yeah, Snoopy. With my 4 inch Disco/Hooker platform shoes on, I felt taller than him. I did touch his shoulder, he was pretty bulky back then.

And you reminded me........................ I was in a grocery store in Cambridge Mass about 10 years ago and who was there but the grand lady herself, Julia Child. The funniest thing was that she was buying............................. CHICKEN (who can forget Dan Akroyd's impersonation?)

And I just reminded myself, Dan is married to a girl from my old HS neighborhood, her parents owned a bar called Hillbilly Haven on Route One in Lorton, VA. Last time I drove down there, it was gone. They rode the same bus to school as me, it was kinda rural then.

See, if we think about it, a lot of us have 6 Degrees of Seperation with fame!
