Who is staying at the Grand Californian week August 16?

Just curious as to who else might be staying the same week my family is. We are me DH-Dale, DW-Patty, DD-Aubre (21) and DS-Tyler(18). We are using our developer points from DVC and staying concierge. Our "Home" is AKL (Kidani). This will be our first time at DL. Actually our first time past Arizona.

Myself (27) and my DBF (32) will be there August 18-20. This will be our first time staying at the GC because we are in L.A. and just drive home, but this is for his birthday so we decided to make a fun trip for it. We always enjoy going into the hotel for a bit a rest and a glass of wine when we are DL and DCA so I know we will love getting to finally be guests!

We are thinking of doing the DVC tour at GC. I saw pics of Kidani - amazing!

KrazyKat, Kidani was awesome. We were there May 7-10 to celebrate my wife's bday. We were thinking that while we are at DL we should drive up to LA to see what it's like. How is the drive to LA from DL? Time and miles?

Time could be 30 minutes or more depending on traffic/time of day. The closer to LA you get the slower you will go. Taking 101 to the Hollywood hills it evens gets more congested because the way the freeways merge.

Dale: "LA" is a BIG place. What would you want to see? Hollywood, the beach (Santa Monica), Universal Studios? Jack is right--at least 30 minutes, but possibly more depending on where and when. I've take two hours to come home from Hollywood to near DL. Just going up to LA without a plan of what exactly you want to see would be a mistake. There's really no one place that is "LA"

Thanks for the response guys. We thought that since we probably will never get back to California we should visit LA. Our first choice would be Hollywood. Will take this imfo under advisement.
