I have been contempating this....i heard you can ship fed-ex to yourself at the hotel OR your wedding coordinator a few days before you arrive. I think he woul dbe a lot less hassle to deal w/ from getting on and off th eplane (especially if they dont hang it)..ontop of the fact that i will have an infant w/ me.

Has anyone done this/ doing this?

i didn't ship my dress for fear that it would get lost. we were flying with jetblue and they don't have closets to hang up the dress. so, what i did was i packed my dress in a carry on bag, yes a carry on bag. i kept the dress in the david's bridal bag that came with it, deflated as much air in it as possible and carefully packed it in. this way, i had it with me at all times during our travels.
i was getting my dress pressed anyway so i couldn't care how many wrinkles were in the dress once it was unpacked.
you can ship your dress if you want but personally i wouldn't take the chance. i wanted my dress with me always and wouldn't hear of anything else.

Shipping the dress would make me very nervous as well. We drove, so we didn’t have that issue, but I would worry about the dress getting lost. I think the above suggestion to take it with you would save you a lot of worry.
