Who is planning on being in Disneyland 7/17/2015?

Got into the park at 9:45 am after our flight. Lots of people but guess that's what I get for coming in the summer. Pirates and Indy was about 45 mins at around 11:00. Big Thunder was down, couldn't grab a FP. After our lunch at Cafe Orleans, walked by Indy at 2:30 and it was down. Spoke to a few cast members and they didn't really know the plans for the 17th except that it will be very busy. We still haven't decided on when to line up - more worried about the security lines than the ticket lines. Going back to the parks tonight and see how it goes.

It's busy. We are in DCA all the big rides are out of fast passes. Planning on spending the whole day at Disneyland tomorrow. My DH keeps saying he is going to line up at 4:00am

My DD wants to line up early too but I' m not sure if we need to be one of the first ones in if there is nothing special planned beside a speech. We are not planning on going on rides but planned to be there all day in case of the park reaching capacity.

We leave tonight after work! I am as packed as I am going to get, I keep texting DH with last minute instructions since he can leave work early to get everything ready. We will see everyone tomorrow at the "Happiest Place on Earth". Remember at least we are not at work and keep a smile on your face.

I am still hoping it won't be as busy as people seem to think. Those that are there today, how is it?

It's busier today than yesterday. I can tell from the crowd that a lot of passholders are in the parks today. Maybe the majority are deluxe and tomorrow won't be as crowded! ;) It seems busier than a normal summer day but I don't have much to compare because we usually avoid July.

I have canvassed several CMs throughout the park today and none of them know what's going on tomorrow. One said they heard a rumor that cupcakes would be given out. There is one jumbo tron set up in Town Square that wasn't there yesterday. No others when we left at 3:00. Maybe more overnight? They all agreed that something will be going on but they (higher ups) want to keep it a surprise. We shall see!

I'm glad to see they will be doing a ceremony at 10am in front of the castle. Thanks for sharing that!

We will not line up early, but head over as usual when it opens. If I see a huge line, we may wait an hour before we head over. I will let you know if I see people lined up at midnight when we arrive in Anaheim.

I am *hoping* to arrive at the parking lot by 630am at the latest, in my 50s finest. This is the 2nd of 3 days of my first trip here and I'm flying solo, and I have to move back to the east coast for family, so it may be quite a while before I can come back!!! While it would be AWESOME if they did something special, and crowds do stink, I realized the moment I walked in today when Goofy punched me in the shoulder while I was just staring open mouthed down Main Street that every second in the park is special!!

K, end speech :) hope everyone else is having an amazing "birthday"!!!!!!

Just talked to cast member scheduled tomorrow is a "surprise". Opening is definitely 8:00am

We asked at the info booth in the esplanade and they said 6am. I called guest relations, they said 4am. No clue what to do

CM told me the Emporium plans to be open by 6. Park opening was 7 but would probably let people in at 6:30. I heard one lot would open at 4am. Not a lot of info. We are headed to bed. We got no sleep last night and want to be ready tomorrow. Hope we hear more info.

Ugh...why won't they tell us something? Planning to be at DL for 6am tomorrow. Not too insanely early.

We took a family vote and the kids decided to have room service delivered between 6:00 and 6:30 and head out whenever we're done eating. Will post updates about lines and what we see once we get there :)

According the DL Twitter account, the Simba parking lot will open at 4:00AM.

I Also talked to many CM's today about plans for tomorrow. Some said they hadn't been told anything, but as the day went on, I learned more. I heard that new photos stations will be set up around the park with a 50's theme. There will be many "surprises," but I didn't learn more about those.

A security officer said that crowds could be let into the park around 6am to shop and get coffee around Main Street, but that ropes wouldn't drop for the rest of the park until 8am. He also said crowds could start lining up at 10pm tonight.

We have been up and out early every morning for the past three days, and we have do everything we wanted, so we don't plan to be there too early. We have a 9:40 carnation cafe ressie, so my daughters and I will be there by then. We didn't bring 50's outfits, as they were too hard to put together easily and transport in our carry on luggage. We decided to play up the diamond celebration, and we will be dressed in head to toe silver sequins and many shiny "diamonds!"

Anyone leave the park recently? Are those people in that small Parking lot on harbor in line or are they waiting for shuttles or something?

Yes they are allowing people to camp in the guest drop off area/taxi stand. They have closed it.

We left the park at about 10:45 and planned to take a taxi to our hotel. Walked to the taxi stand only to find it closed for the campers. The CMs there suggested we walked back to DTD to get a cab. No thank you. Luckily we walked across the street and were able to get one at one of the hotels. The CMs said no notice was given, not even to CMs who often get dropped off and picked up there. This is a safety issue to me. I find it extremely stupid to let people camp in a widely used and very functional spot like that.

They had camping in the parking shuttle bus area for the 24 hr. I even saw people in wheelchairs?!?! camping the night before. How stupid/bored are people getting these days that they feel the need to do these types of things?
