We are going on the Northern European cruise next summer. Still over a year away! Can you help me live vicariously through you for a little bit? Also, can you please post copies of your Personal Navigators? And tell me any details about excursions you've got planned and then when you get back tell me how the trip was? My cruise seems so far away and yours is so close! I'm excited on your behalf and SO READY to go on mine in August of 2018.

THANKS!!! (or is it like feeding my addiction? I don't know...)

Looking forward to reading reviews also. We have a 10 Night Norwegian Fjord and Iceland reservation made for 2018. I am especially interested in excursions for Iceland that gives you the most bang for your buck that get you out into nature.
And keeping my fingers crossed the Northern Lights will make an appearance.
Can anyone tell me, can you make a request for a wake-up call if they are on display?

I am! We are departing on the 7-night Fjords in early June. We fly out on the first and will spend two nights in Copenhagen. :)

I can post navigators but unfortunately we have chosen to do excursions on our own except for Kayaking in Geiranger... if you are interested I can tell you how the others go too? We are hiking pulpit rock while in Stavanger (weather permitting) and are renting a car to drive the path of the trolls in Alesund. Bergen we are just going to wander on our own too.

MinnesotaMouseketeers the lights won't be visible.. there is just too much sun in Norway in June..!

We don't plan on doing too many excursions through Disney. The only one we have considered is if they offer the Finnish reindeer excursion in Helsinki. Otherwise, we are booking everything else on our own. I would still love to hear your experiences. I think we are going to spend three or four days after our cruise in Copenhagen and thinking about getting the Copenhagen card.

Honestly, I am a junkie needing a fix. I can't book or plan anything for several more months!!

We are DIYing except in St Petersburg. This is our fourth cruise and the fist time we've actually booked an excursion. We've been to Copenhagen about 10 years ago so looking forward to visiting again. We also spent a week in Stockholm last summer so have done most of the main sights there. We have a plan for Tallin (to walk to the seaplane harbour museum) and are still debating on Helsinki!

Leaving for Copenhagen on the 26th May for the Northern Europe cruise the 28th. Two excursions booked for St. Petersburg, the rest are on our own.

I'm on the Northern Europe and Norwegian Fjords cruises this year. We booked the reindeer port adventure in Helsinki and will be in Copenhagen for a few days with the Copenhagen card. My husband and I always say that we'll make a trip report and trip vlog, but we never do. Hopefully we'll do better this year. I'll save this thread and hope to respond when I come back home after June 14!

Layers and a good sense of humor it seems..! That gets me through 99% of weather when traveling. I did just buy a better pair of rain pants today as getting wet can make me cranky...

We are hiking Pulpit Rock, but with the DCL excursion. We are doing kayaking, but in Alesund.

Have you found anything interesting in Bergen? We are going solo too. I really want to go to the Stave Church plus I found (what looks to be) a cool ice bar.

We're doing Norther Europe in 2018 too!

We spent several days in Copenhage in 2018 prior to our DCL Fjords Cruise. A favorite of everyone was taking the train up to Roskilde to the viking museum. It's not too far. You can book a trip on a replica viking boat out on the Baltic, which was really fun. Plus the museum has restored viking ships, an area with games, climb on viking ship, and dress up as a viking for kids, etc. We also loved Tivoli and taking the train up to Kronborg. We stayed at Danhostel Copenhagen City which was comfortable, clean, affordable, and very walkable. Short walk to the main train station.

For the person asking about Bergen, if I remember right the stave church is pretty far out of the way. But, Bryggen and the main wharf area is a very short walk from the dock (if it's the same docking place as 2015). We loved Haakon's Hall and the whole Bergenhuss fortress (you can see it from the ship!). The tour of Haakon's hall was fascinating, our kids loved it. You can also walk over and do the Floibanen up Mt. Floyen (or hike) for beautiful views of the harbor. I would recommend doing the Floibanen in the morning before it gets crowded (the line can get long). We waited a couple of trips on the way down and were able to sit in the very front, which was really fun. Bergen is a very easy port to DIY.

We're booked for August 2018 too. I'm also thinking about coming back to the States on the Transatlantic since this will probably be my retirement trip. We figure we could find plenty to do for the two weeks between the cruises.

Is there an 'official' thread for the June 4, 2017 — 7-Night Norwegian Fjords Cruise from Copenhagen? I joined the only group on Facebook for it that I could find, but it's not active. When I searched here, this was the only thread that popped up. Hoping to find some others on this cruise and thought this might be a good place to start! :)

There is one under the cruise meets section, but it is pretty quiet too.
