Who is going the middle of October during FD black out dates ?

We are going Oct.11th-21st with a Game On Pin we got in Jan for free Quick Service Dining. We are staying at the POR. When I received the Pin it was good for anytime in 2012 at almost all Deluxe, Mods, and Values.

How much was your Poly discount ? I would love to stay there to the point I'm getting frustrated because I need a really good discount

Unfortunately just 10%.

We're going Oct 9-14 at AoA. The only discount we got was using AAA as rooms really aren't being discounted. And the free dining is blacked out for us too. Our 'discount' is that we needed a suite vs two rooms and the suite was cheaper than two rooms. Does that qualify?

We are going that week as well but because we purchased our hopper tickets through the YES program, we are not eligible for the free dining. However, we saved about $600 in tickets buy signing up for the YES program, so I can not complain. I was able to book a AAA room rate with a 20% discount, which is helpful as well. Thank goodness because the airfare was the real killer. I would love to receive another pin before we go, but at least I feel like we have saved some money. Actually, we did receive a pin for 30% off back in March, but because we really want to stay at POFQ and they werent able to apply that discount to that hotel, we kept our current ressies (AAA 20%). We could have switched to another hotel to receive the 30% but the extra 10% wasnt worth it for us to give up the POFQ. Here's hoping for another pin!

Really dont want to pay rack knowing discounts are out to be had, but we will see. everytine we have gone before we have had a pin or discount. I have thought of canceling our reservation just to open the possibility of receiving a pin. Ive also requested dvds, maps and saved offers while logged in but nothing yet. ill keep waiting and checking each day though like the rest of us! Heres to hoping!!

I have gotten some sort of pin every year but this year zippo ! I have done the same saving vacations, ordered the DVD, the maps, and have been in out of the Disney site a bunch ! I have gotten nothing

The first thing I thought of was what an excellent opportunity for a Disney trip! Well, no discount, no pin, no FD, nothing. I would be happy with 10% at this point.

Well the only thing I can think of is if there will be no discounts then it should not be crowded I dont know if that is worth paying all the extra money, I have no idea why it is blacked out yet.
I know there are plenty of room choices and dining reservations open. I keep thinking Disney will add a really good discount because they do not have enough rooms filled

What I can yell you is that the same exact thing happened to me last year during the same week. And we ended up paying full price. I was shocked. No room discounts for that week (oct 15) were ever released. I'm not holding my breath. Thank goodness this year I got a room only pin in the spring.

Same for our school district. When I first heard that, I thought "Finally I can go to Disney World in the fall!!". I've booked at rack rate at a moderate. If no room code comes out, I'm moving to a Downtown Disney hotel!

I'm from Louisiana too and we just got this October break (a Friday and a Monday off) for the kiddos as well! First time we have ever had a fall break!

Question: How many rooms can you book with the AP discount if just one person in your group has the AP ? Do you need someone with AP to book the second room also ?

When we have gone in October the crowds have been very light. But we also never go without a code either.....

We are too... bummed about the blackout dates. Holding on to dwindling hope that we'll get some sort of pin code, but it's looking less and less likely by the day. Since our dates are not flexible (doing DW in conjunction with a Disney Cruise), looks like Rack Rate for us

Same here except I do have 10% off which isnt much. It looks like we may have to deal with it because I cant change my dates unless I want to pay 300.00 change fees to Delta
