Who is going the middle of October during FD black out dates ?

Just wondered who all was in the same boat as me I also wondered if any of you have gotten any sort of discount at all ? I do have a discount of only 10% from a pin that my daughter had gotten a long time ago. I really need more then that How about anyone else,have you gotten any sort of discount, pin, or anything lately. Hoping someone has, that might mean there is a chance for the rest of us to get something. I know someone on here stated that they went during that time last year with no discounts

Our dates are 10/11 - 10/21. We booked with the Game On pin I received back in January or February, though. We got 30% of deluxe resorts and wouldn't be able to stay deluxe without it. Still, I am really hoping for another 5-10% off when the AP discounts for that time period are released. However, based on the recent AP discounts, I won't be holding my breath.

We are going that week as well but because we purchased our hopper tickets through the YES program, we are not eligible for the free dining. However, we saved about $600 in tickets buy signing up for the YES program, so I can not complain. I was able to book a AAA room rate with a 20% discount, which is helpful as well. Thank goodness because the airfare was the real killer. I would love to receive another pin before we go, but at least I feel like we have saved some money. Actually, we did receive a pin for 30% off back in March, but because we really want to stay at POFQ and they werent able to apply that discount to that hotel, we kept our current ressies (AAA 20%). We could have switched to another hotel to receive the 30% but the extra 10% wasnt worth it for us to give up the POFQ. Here's hoping for another pin!

We are going and don't have any sort of discount. I'm still hopihng something will be sent to us. Can't wait to be there to see the Halloween decorations and go to MNSSHP!

October 12-17 for DH and I. It is just us, we don't have kids and we don't do the dining plan so the black out wasn't an issue for us. I got a 30% PIN for all resorts back in May and booked CSR but I think I may switch to AKL because hubby and I are huge animal lovers.

We were planning to go October 14-21 for my birthday. However, I was not willing to go without a discount so we have moved our dates back a week. I refuse to pay rack rate....and even though we have AAA, 10% off is not good enough considering Disney's high prices!!!! So, we will just celebrate my birthday a week late with free dining. (I guess technically we are paying rack rate, but since we are getting dining for free it makes up for it!)

Honestly, I was amazed at the lack of rooms available considering a discount isn't out for the middle of October. I'm not sure I would ever be able to book a room/package without first having a discount!!!!

I hope a room only discount comes out for all of you that can't move your dates!

That is good that you could book the AAA discount during the black out dates. How long ago was it when you added the AAA discount ?

I use to have AAA. Why was your discount only 10% and megandgarr's was 20% off ? I have the 14th - 19th booked and I have had no trouble with finding resorts available. It may be the 19th -21st that have a lot of rooms taken.

We are going Oct. 9-16. We were hoping for FD, but did book with a 30% off room discount code in January. We also booked YES tickets, so that helps a ton. Still wish we had free dining, as 2 of my kids are now "Adults."

We are going Oct. 12-16, paying rack rate for a LM room at AoA, no pins or discounts for us. I wouldn't pay rack rate for moderate or deluxe though, we only stay there with free dining or a good % off.

We did get the YES tickets as well, so save almost 50% off of tickets so I'm just counting that as my discount. We will be stocking up on snacks and drinks for our room, will definitely be eating out less than last year when we had deluxe dining!

I am, Oct. 14-20, same week as last year. But last year the Gartner Symposium and some PGA thing were going on that week, that's why I thought it was blacked out. So this year, I checked and the golf thing is in Nov. and Gartner starts the week of the 19th, I believe. Thought I was being clever by booking the week before. Luckily, I got a PIN back in January for free QSDP at a mod, no black out dates, so I booked our vacation then. At least I have something.
