I am a Nursery Nurse too..currently the deputy manager of an Army run Nursery out here in Germany.
Childcare is very rewarding spiritually, but sadly lacking in thanks from many people who seem to think that it is 'easy' and all we do is 'play all day'. If only they knew.

i totally agree.
unfortunately alot of the parents of the kids i teach believe that the teachers should deal with their kids discipline, and there is no continuity.

I always feel sorry for teachers who have to cope with this situation.
You all do a brilliant job in spite of local authority and government initiatives

I'm now a qualified 'early years practitioner' (just completed my early childhood studies degree) and have been working in nurseries throughout my degree through a supply agency. I'll probably end up carrying on with nursery work for a bit to gain some more experience, I really enjoy it but I just wish us staff were valued more I'd prefer to work in family support, play therapy, portage work or community nursery nursing so i'll be keeping my eyes peeled for these jobs or similar! In the future i'd like to do fostering

"No recommendations for improvement are made because the quality and standards of care are outstanding."
