Who invited Milton to her 21st Birthday?? An October 2024 Trip Report UPDATED November 20, 2025!

I’m old and I’m not normally… wait. Canadian. It doesn’t apply here.
Yeah, you all are built tougher than the rest of us! 🥶

Never tried that one
I'm not even sure if they call this The All-American...I just know they do at The Plaza and this is basically the same and she orders that one all the time!

Good point. Could’ve been worse… and has been.
So true!

Definitely still on my list!
Go before Disney gets rid of them! Not that I've heard they were going away but you know how these things happen!

I'd heard of folks NOT getting their food affairs in order and then complaining about how they "went hungry". Silly!!
Honestly, there were so many opportunities and signs to prepare and get food that if you don't then that's kind of on you.

So odd to be there then!
It really was surreal!

I've always heard such great things about how Disney handles things during hurricanes. Like you, I wouldn't want to be there during one, but know I'd be in good hands.

OCTOBER 10-11, 2024
POOL TIME AND EPCOT ROPE-DROP

I think they finally got the pool all cleaned up between 5-6 pm...that was QUITE the job!

And as predicted, Ava was one of the first ones in!

IMG_7044.jpeg

Allie and Clay had their suits on but it was a bit chilly...I don't recall if they went in...
IMG_7048.jpeg

My mom sure didn't! :rotfl2:
IMG_7055.jpeg

It was a bit cooler at this point but there were a smattering of people there and the pool and sky looked so pretty...
IMG_7065.jpeg

I don't recall what time we stayed until...probably until whenever we could drag Ava out of the pool!

IMG_7074.jpeg

Allie and Clay were working from the room but the rest of us were heading back to EPCOT for our last day.
Mike and I were up early and rope-dropped and there was literally no-one around...

IMG_7075.jpegIMG_7094.jpeg

We were wearing our Boo To You shirts that we would have worn to MNSSHP the night before
IMG_7112.jpeg

We headed to Ratatouille first and Mike got his favorite photo op...
IMG_7121.jpeg

We then headed to Soarin' with still no waits...

EPCOT

My mom and Ava were finally heading into EPCOT around 11...did I mention they were super pokey??
It kind of makes me crazy because I like to get up and get going but I know my mom moves slower and Ava is not a morning person so I have to just them them do their thing!

On the way back to the International Gateway to meet them we stopped at the food booth in France for the Onion Tart...IMG_7156.jpegIMG_7158.jpeg
I don't remember if I liked this but it looks good :thumbsup2

Grammy and Ava finally made it so we headed back on Ratatouille...

IMG_7162.jpegIMG_7165.jpegIMG_7171.jpeg

Then made our way back around the World Showcase for some snacking.
I always get the Spanokopita in Greece...
IMG_7175.jpeg

Look at this sky! After Milton moved through he left behind the most gorgeous weather!
IMG_7178.jpeg

Next we headed to Frozen...

IMG_7187.jpeg

This picture cracks me up :goodvibes
IMG_7203.jpeg
More awesome Photopass poses...

And as predicted, Ava was one of the first ones in!
Of course she was!
I was up early grabbing a Boarding Group for Guardians.
THE BEST!!!!
Mike and I were up early and rope-dropped and there was literally no-one around...
LLOOOOOOOVE me some EPCOT with no one around! My fave!!
We headed to Ratatouille first and Mike got his favorite photo op...
IMG_7121.jpeg
Just discovered this on my trip!
I don't remember the red one there when Caroline and I were there. Huh!

THE BEST!!!!
Dont't you miss Boarding Groups??! I loved having a guaranteed spot in line!

LLOOOOOOOVE me some EPCOT with no one around! My fave!!
Me too but I've never seen it THIS empty!

I don't remember the red one there when Caroline and I were there. Huh!
It's funny, when Mike and I were there this October there was only one there...I can't remember which one but maybe one of them fell over and they removed it?

PRE-TRIP REPORT
Hello everyone! I'm almost done and am really hoping to finish this last installment today because Allie and I are heading back to WDW this afternoon! Our plane leaves today at 4:55 pm so we'll be heading up to the airport around 2:30. Tonight we'll be staying at the Boardwalk and then moving over to Bay Lake Tower tomorrow 12/9 until Sunday 12/14! We have breakfast at Topolino's tomorrow and then heading to MVMCP tomorrow night which just so happens to be my birthday!

Then on 12/10 we have Jollywood Nights which we have done for the last two years and weren't going to go again this year had I not broken my favorite Ollie mug. Once that happened I said to Allie, "you know what this means?" Haha! Our goals for that party are to replace the mug, take a couple cute pics and then focus mostly on the rides. The only show we plan on seeing is the Muppet Show. We don't need to repeat seeing any of the other shows or spend another $60 on boozy peppermint hot chocolate like we did last year that ended up being pure toothpaste and was left undrinken on the table :sad2:

On 12/11 we are going to Animal Kingdom and doing the Wild Africa Trek for the first time and we are both super excited about this! That night we will probably head to Disney Springs and try to get into Jock Lindsey's for their hot chocolate flight which happens to be amazing...or at least it was last year...and then maybe do the Christmas Tree Stroll.

Friday 12/12 is our EPCOT day. We have the Garden Grill CP package booked but I'm not sure if we will keep that...I am not super excited about seeing Marlee Matlin as the narrator. We also have the Glimmering Greenhouses tour booked for 7pm which I am super excited about!

Saturday 12/13 we will head back to Magic Kingdom for the day and see what we can get done. There is no party this night so it will likely be super crowded. If it is we may head out early and then figure out something else...we always enjoy a monorail/boat crawl to see all the Christmas decorations at the other resorts.

We head home on Sunday 12/14! We will be packing a lot in but Allie and I travel so easily together so it should be a great trip!

I think I'll be able to bang out the rest of our October 2024 trip before we go so stay tuned!

LAST DAY AND LAST THOUGHTS

After riding Frozen we headed over to Moana's Journey of Water which Ava had never seen before.

IMG_7230.jpeg

And of course she found the wettest path possible!
IMG_7234 (1).jpeg

One last ride on Spaceship earth and then we headed back to the Beach Club.
IMG_7242.jpeg

Allie and Clay had finished working and were relaxing by the pool so we quickly changed and headed there to meet them.
IMG_7255.jpeg

We ended up spending our last afternoon/evening at the pool and ordered pizza and salad delivered from Flippers.
IMG_7290.jpeg
It is pretty decent pizza and was just a nice way to relax for our last night.

The next morning Mike headed out super early to drive home,
and Allie and Clay headed to the airport for their flight somewhere around 9am.
IMG_3644.jpeg

They were already boarded and we were still at the Beach Club just hanging out with Stitch waiting for our Mears bus.
IMG_7320.jpeg

We were picked up around 12 for our 3:30 pm flight home .
IMG_7335.jpeg

Boarded and ready to go home!
IMG_7359.jpeg

I thought this screen shot was so funny...
IMG_7361.jpeg

Mike had left at the crack of dawn and was making excellent time home but of course we were about to fly right over him! We landed around 6:30 and he did make it home that night around 2am which is absolutely crazy to me!
He doesn't mind it though so I guess who am I to say?

This was a great trip, despite Milton! Clay loved it and wants to go back and we keep trying to plan a trip with all of us including Nicholas and his girlfriend but it is so hard trying to coordinate everyone's schedules and PTO
so I'm not sure when we'll make that happen.

We do have a bunch of trips coming up. After this December trip, Mike and I go back at the end of January for F-Arts because we loved it last year. Then Allie and I are going to Disneyland in February, then I'm back to WDW in March with Mike for his birthday and then back in April with my mom, Ava and Allie. This will be their first trip back since this October 2024 trip and they are long overdue. Ava keeps asking when we are going back. We did invite them on this December trip but Ava would have to miss a bunch of school and a lot of the Holiday actitivites they do so they decided this wasn't the best time.

Thank you so much for reading along and all of your comments!
I love reliving this trip because it was super memorable and not something you experience too many times in life...thankfully!

I haven't decided yet it I will be doing trip reports for any of these upcoming trips
but this was nice to get back to so perhaps...

Really enjoyed your report and hope you have a wonderful trip with Allie over the next week! Hope you'll do a trip report for that trip too!

I think they finally got the pool all cleaned up between 5-6 pm...that was QUITE the job!
Impressive!
And as predicted, Ava was one of the first ones in!
Allie and Clay had their suits on but it was a bit chilly...I don't recall if they went in...
IMG_7048.jpeg
Clay especially looks cold.
:cold:
Very pretty... if a little ominous looking.
I don't recall what time we stayed until...probably until whenever we could drag Ava out of the pool!
there was literally no-one around...
Most people mean "figuratively" when they write that, but... there's no one!
We were wearing our Boo To You shirts that we would have worn to MNSSHP the night before
:(
I'd have been very upset. I've gone with fairly elaborate costumes.
My mom and Ava were finally heading into EPCOT around 11...did I mention they were super pokey??
It kind of makes me crazy because I like to get up and get going but I know my mom moves slower and Ava is not a morning person so I have to just them them do their thing!
I get it. You have to let them do their thing, but... time is money!
I don't remember if I liked this but it looks good :thumbsup2
Gonna say it was just okay. If you loved it, you'd probably remember. Same if you hated it.
Fun shot. :)
Look at this sky! After Milton moved through he left behind the most gorgeous weather!
Hard to believe there was a hurricane!
This picture cracks me up :goodvibes

Allie and I are heading back to WDW this afternoon!
That was yesterday! Hope you're having a wonderful time!
Tonight we'll be staying at the Boardwalk and then moving over to Bay Lake Tower tomorrow
Wonderful!
tomorrow night which just so happens to be my birthday!
That's today now. Happy birthday!!
:cake:
Then on 12/10 we have Jollywood Nights which we have done for the last two years and weren't going to go again this year had I not broken my favorite Ollie mug. Once that happened I said to Allie, "you know what this means?" Haha!
 Disney "math"!

I've never done Jollywood. Maybe some day. :)
On 12/11 we are going to Animal Kingdom and doing the Wild Africa Trek for the first time
Nice! Hope you write a TR and let us know all about it. :)
After riding Frozen we headed over to Moana's Journey of Water which Ava had never seen before.
Me neither.
And of course she found the wettest path possible!
Allie and Clay had finished working and were relaxing by the pool so we quickly changed and headed there to meet them.
Must've warmed up. :)
ordered pizza and salad delivered from Flippers.
Never heard of Flippers. Pizza looks okay.
I thought this screen shot was so funny...
IMG_7361.jpeg
"Wait... weren't we all in the same place this morning?"
He doesn't mind it though so I guess who am I to say?
I like road trips. :)
Clay loved it and wants to go back
Good!
:goodvibes
After this December trip, Mike and I go back at the end of January for F-Arts because we loved it last year. Then Allie and I are going to Disneyland in February, then I'm back to WDW in March with Mike for his birthday and then back in April with my mom, Ava and Allie.
Whoa!! Lots!
Thank you so much for reading along and all of your comments!
Thanks so much for writing!!

but this was nice to get back to so perhaps...
Pretty please? :)

What time does it close? I don't think I've ever swam (or wanted to) after like 10pm!
They used to stay open until midnight with lifeguards, but there weren't any fences back then either, and someone actually drowned at Pop Century. After that they put up fences and locked gates around all the pools and now they all close at 10.

Your plans for this week's trip (which you're already on!!!!) sound so wonderful. I just did a quick weekend trip in the Wisconsin Dells with my Mom, but that's got nothing on a week at WDW!

We are also doing the Glimmering Greenhouses tour in a couple of weeks! I'm super excited for that.

I hope you have good luck replacing your Ollie mug! :)

Happy Birthday yesterday!! Have the best time!

Dont't you miss Boarding Groups??! I loved having a guaranteed spot in line!
I haven't taken a SW flight yet without the groups, but I KNOW I will miss them for sure. Less mayhem and fighting, I think with the A-B-C groups.
After this December trip, Mike and I go back at the end of January for F-Arts because we loved it last year.
My favorite festival of all! Love this one!

Really enjoyed your report and hope you have a wonderful trip with Allie over the next week! Hope you'll do a trip report for that trip too!

Thank you! We had a great time...it was definitely a whirlwind trip! I have to catch up on all my Christmas wrapping and baking before I can do anything but maybe when once things settle down I will!

I'd have been very upset. I've gone with fairly elaborate costumes.
I remember! You always had the best costumes!

Hope you're having a wonderful time!
We did!

Happy birthday!!
Thank you!

I've never done Jollywood. Maybe some day. :)
Eh...so this was our third and last. It was fine but we treated it more like an After Hours (that had no included treats). The best part is that show with the Muppets. The worst part was the merch! They didn't even have a good Ollie mug which was my whole reason for going! :rotfl2: This year's mug was literally a half mug with a flat weird front partfor holding a cookie or something...

This is from the internet...

I didn't even end up getting it!

Nice! Hope you write a TR and let us know all about it. :)
We'll see...I have to get through Christmas first! So much to do!

I like road trips. :)
I recall...this would probably seem like nothing to you!

We are also doing the Glimmering Greenhouses tour in a couple of weeks! I'm super excited for that.
That was super cute! Just FYI, it does NOT include a ride with it and those lines get crazy! We got in line around 5:30 pm and it already said 50 minutes. It took us 40 to get on the ride but I was worried we wouldn't have time to get back for our tour at 7. When we got off the line was 90 minutes and wrapped all the way back to Soarin!

I hope you have good luck replacing your Ollie mug! :)
Haha! I actually didn't end up getting it because it was super weirdly shaped! Luckily I found a cute one the night before at MVMCP to replace it!

Happy Birthday yesterday!! Have the best time!
Thank you! You'll be going soon so I hope you have the most Magical trip!!

I honestly didn't even think about that!!! It would make perfect sense to include a ride either before or after your tour, even if they treated you to a LL for it. Rats. Now I have to go look at my itinerary and figure out when we're going to get a ride in, too.

Thank you! You'll be going soon so I hope you have the most Magical trip!!
Thanks so much!! We leave on Monday at 6 a.m.!! Can't wait! :)

I remember! You always had the best costumes!
Thanks! :)
Great!

Well, poop! That's not okay!

!!
My mom had one like that... except it said "So you asked for half a cup of coffee?" on it.
We'll see...I have to get through Christmas first! So much to do!
busy busy busy...
I recall...this would probably seem like nothing to you!
Well, I wouldn't say that.
