ForTheLoveofDisney,

Thanks so much! I am working on it right now, lets see how it goes!!! :goodvibes

This morning I had to schedule with the dentist to get my wisdom teeth pulled out. What makes it even worse is the only time they can get me in before my new job starts is on my birthday! Talk about a horrid b-day!Has anyone ever have this done? I'm pretty nervous as I have NO tolerance for pain at all! They said it will be pretty bad for 2 days because I'm female. What does that have to do with anything? Any advice or info. would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi all Just thought I stop in for a minute. I need to clean since I'm having a party tonight. Dolphinresuegirl sorry about your birthday. I didn't have to bad of a time with my wisdom teeth, just all the drooling. pain meds and ice pops work wonders. Hope you all have a great day.

dolphinrescuegirl,

When I had my wisdom teeth out, it was really bad. Only one side of my face got swollen, but it was VERY painful. I couldn't eat for about 2 weeks, and I couldn't take my pain meds. For some reason, they made me throw up. I was very nausous for about a week too, because they put me out and that make me feel very sick. I'm so sorry you have to get your wisdom teeth out! Hopefully, you can take the pain meds and be all good =) The first one I took helped, but I couldn't take anymore after that. I also was VERY sick of pudding and gatorade after 2 weeks. Try to have someone make you yummy soup or some rice and broth, that helped me when I was sick of sweet stuff. Get some cold packs and put them on for 20 minutes on each side.

Good luck..I hope your experience is better than mine!

I had mine taken out a few years ago and it was horrible! I woke up when they were almost done. When they took me to the car I stared sobbing uncontrollably. The pain meds made me throw up. It overall was a not so good experience. I hope yours is alot better than mine.

Both of my parents had their teeth out. My dad went out to lunch immed. after the procedure and my mom couldn't eat for 2 days after. Therefore I can't even base how this might affect me considering they had such extreme experiences. Hellokitty: sorry to hear about your experience. What kind of pain meds did they give you? I know this same dentist gave me antibotics(sp?) last time that made me sick. I tend to do ok on most pain meds.

I was suppose to have my wisdom teeth taken out, but I didn't go through with it. I was way too scared to be put under, so they tried to just us laughing gas and novocain. For some reason, the gas made me so sick (never had before) and I almost threw up. Finally, they just pulled a molar (it was also supposed to be removed too). That made a little room for the wisdom teeth. I am scared that they are going to start bothering me again and I will have to have them removed.

Make sure you do NOT drink through a straw, because you can get dry sockets. My mom had them and she said it was so painful. They had to keep stuffing gauze in the wholes.

My DH had one removed (it was just pulled out, no incision). He had no problems at all.

Good Luck! :grouphug:

DznyFan, I am the same way!!! People have always called me "snobby" (or worse) because it takes me a while to open up. I am really sarcastic, too, so that doesn't really help.

I guess none of us would be good at 50's Primetime Cafe!!! (I am personally terrified at that place.) I am so shy, my DH told me he is forcing me to buy pins this trip and trade them so I will talk to people more.

I am the same way!

As for 50's PTC - I went there twice last year and got waiters that were not into the roles. :confused3 Oh well... I'm kind of terrified of WCC, but I really want to go there for our Sept trip. If they ask me to do anything I will just curl up in a ball and might do what they want me to, but DBF is kind of a fuddy duddy and will refuse to do anything! He's no fun!

Also my problem.

:confused3

People take me a bit too serious.

dolphinrescuegirl-

I'm glad you can handle pain meds! I just have a sensitive stomach. My pain meds was a generic version of vicodin. I remember the pharmacist telling me vicodin is very expensive so she just gave me the generic version instead.

I'm sure you wont have the bad experience I had if you can atleast take something. I had to take tylenol and that didnt help!

I tried WCC, and didn't have anything done except for the straws being thrown at me...I ate there before I knew it was themed, we just walked up and got seated. I thought the waitress was a little weird after she threw the straws, and then I understood. :)

I've had the generic vicodin and it was really good for me, got rid of the pain with no side effects. I appreciate everyone telling me about their exp and advice for me. Now I know not to drink from a straw. What about milkshakes, can I still drink those from a straw?

You shouldn't drink anything from a straw. They should go over everything with you. I don't know if you smoke, but you shouldn't do that either. It has to do with the suctioning that can loosen the blood clot and create the dry sockets.

Thanks for the info about straws. I had no idea. I don't smoke so thats a good thing. Cant think of anything else that I would suck but I will keep in mind the suctioning thing.

I will never understand gossiping in a family - I worked with this young woman once, she would get on the phone with a family member and diss everyone - then call another and put down the one before, even those they were close to.....it really shocked me to see that family members could act this way (not to mention the disrespectful fights she would have with her mom - she said things I would never say to someone I loved and was supposed to respect)...guess I am bit of a polyanna.....

Lol, you didn't work with me did you?? :rotfl: just kiddin... Although I do have this one really cheap aunt that my mom and I make fun of and lately my grandfather has started to join us. But honestly, she is really, really cheap and for no reason.

I was talking to the lady that owned her, and I asked for her birthday and she looked up the file and said, "Oh, its October 8!" Well that was a done deal for me, thats my birthday too!!

October 8th is my birthday too! When it rolls around we should have a party, me, you, and your pug!

As for the wisdom teeth thing - I had mine taken out when I was in high school. They gave me Tylenol with Codeine and my mom sent me right back to school. I don't remember much except every teacher sent me to the nurse's office because I kept falling asleep, I would just wake up & shuffle on to the next class before plunking down on the desk. Mom figured it was better for me to be asleep at school than asleep at home. Maybe I'd learn by osmosis. :confused3

I had a cracked molar removed a few months ago, it was not that bad actually. They put me out and loaded me up with vicodin, which I take semi-regularly anyway & it doesn't do much for me. Oh it hurt like heck for a couple days, but hey at least I lost a couple pounds!
