Cedar Point sounds like so much fun! Lyzzie liked our little "road trip" so much that she wants to go to St. Louis now to ride the coasters at 6 Flags... only if I can get my parents to go with or to watch Emma, otherwise we can't ride anything but the baby rides.

Another tip I heard is every time you erase your memory card, reformat it to help keep it from corrupting. Remember I lost all my pictures a while ago? I got most of them back thank goodness! I've been reformatting every time since then and no problems with that same card. I also try to remember to erase the pictures once I transfer them to the computer, otherwise I was keeping some in there and then shooting more and just transferring the new ones, I think all that copying only some of them at a time messes it up in the long run.

I just checked my credit card account and I spent a lot less over the weekend than I thought! I use my MyPoints card so I can get the points, and then (in theory) pay it off right away. So far I've got enough points for a $50 Target gift card and I'm holding out for a $100 card -- wish they did Disney Dollars though!

Linda, MVMCP huh? You're going to have so much fun! The only hard-ticket party I've done was the P&PP in Feb... and doing it again in Sept. on the last day. I really liked it! I love the parks at night, and the whole theme and treasure hunt makes it feel like a different place. I'd love to do all the parties -- someday!
I can't blame Lyzzie there... gotta ride the fun stuff too!!! Yes, I'll have to reformat my cards!! Yay for spending less than you thought. that is always a nice surprise...I'm not having one of those days:rolleyes1 but it will be SO worth it!!! I went to MVMCP Kenny wasn't even 2 yet if I remember correctly...b/c he wouldn't have needed a ticket...we were staying off property and he got sick. I had mom w/me so she stayed w/him and I had to run to the party just to check it out for a little while by myself... I didn't want to WASTE the ticket:rolleyes1 I can't wait to go again!! P& PP was AWESOME!!pirate: now all I have to do is the MNSSHP

ahh..It was our 12/02 trip... bad when I gotta look at my own siggy to remember when a trip was:rotfl2:

You guys! You're making me want to do a Xmas WDW trip... I can NOT afford that! I really need to lock up my credit cards, they make me do scary scary things.

Speaking of which... I just ordered my set of memory cards. :)

Man, if I took a trip down to WDW just for the MVMCP those would be the most expensive free cookies I ever had!

Day 1 – Saturday, June 16th
Departure day. We had rented a minivan for this trip. I got a really good deal and thought it would be much easier and convenient if we did it this way rather than take our own vehicle. Save wear and tear on our own vehicle. We were upgraded to a Chrysler Town & Country minivan. All 5 of us fit comfortably, along with 2 large suitcases, 1 medium sized one, and one small one. We also took along a nice sized collapsible cooler filled with drinks and snacks.

We left the house at 6:10 am Saturday morning. Made one quick stop at the gas station to top off the fuel tank and were on our way. I had a tentative plan to stop in Amarillo, TX for gas and food. This plan worked just perfect. I had mapped out a Wal Mart that had a gas station so we could use a Wal Mart gas card. We filled up, and went across the street to a Braum’s for lunch. After a quick lunch, we were back on the road.

Our next fuel stop was scheduled for Albuquerque, NM. Again, this worked perfectly. This time, there was a Sam’s Club there right off I-40 that had a gas station. After fueling up, and a potty break, we were again back on the road.

The kids did wonderfully for the most part considering the distance we were driving. They watched a couple of movies and played game-boys and we played the typical road trip games. Also……..thank goodness for iPods and the FM tuner connection for the iPod. Radio stations were few and far between in New Mexico.

We were making GREAT time. We hadn’t had any of the emergency potty breaks that come along with most road trips. Plus, I was able to cruise along at a good speed……..

We were staying in an Embassy Suites hotel in Flagstaff for our first 3 nights. It was right off I-40, so it was easy to get to. We arrived at the hotel about 8:30 pm. Right at the estimated 14 hour drive time, plus time for lunch, fuel, and potty stops. Except it really wasn’t 8:30 pm……..it was 6:30 pm. We had completely forgotten about the time change.

We were all hungry, but didn’t feel like going out to a restaurant, so Colton and I ventured out looking for a Taco Bueno (DW’s choice). No Bueno……so we settled for a Del Taco. It was very similar, but not quite as good as Bueno.

After eating, we decided after the long road trip, we would just settle in and go to bed early.

I know I took a few pictures of some of the scenery on the way, but I still don't have all the pictures downloaded to my PC yet.

Hi everyone!!!

My weekend was pretty horrible because of this cold. It got much much worse and I had a bad fever and was laid up in bed all weekend!! Now my voice is completely gone (hmmm, I'm sure Jeremiah is enjoying that) I feel a tiny bit better today though!!!!

Lyzziesmom, I loved the zoo pics!! The one with Lyzzie & the lion is really cool! I can't believe that woman broke Emma's stroller. Good thing I wasn't there :rolleyes1

Donna, I loved the breakfast!!!!! Fruit is just what I've been wanting. And you look gorgeous!! I love the wall color too!! Very pretty.

Linda, thanks for sharing those hilarious pics of the the little boys picking everywhere  :teeth: It made me laugh in between hacking my lungs out! I am so so jealous that you are staying at the Poly & SOG in Dec! I've ALWAYS wanted to stay at the Poly. Jeremiah told me I could upgrade to there for our Sept. trip but I'm trying to justify the cost. We are trying to save some money to just move home without Jeremiah getting a job first and have some money for acouple months, for him to look for a job, and I keep thinking "Is it worth it for the Poly or should I put it in our moving savings acct??" but also, we're going to have kids soon and I don't know how long we could afford to upgrade on a whim like that in the future!!!

Nicole, I've never been to the Christmas party (sorry I am running a blank on the abbreviations) but it sounds like so much fun!!

I've been to WDW over Christmas time alot over my childhood. My parents (still to this day) go to Disney Christmas Eve and stay a night and I would sometimes go with them. Lyzziesmom and Linda, its a gorgeous time to go!

Pozey, It looks like you had a great time!! We want to see more pics!

Lyzziesmom- Yup, my lovebug tag is from this thread!! So you guys be careful what you type..... (or not, its pretty funny when people have embarassing tags!! my first one is pretty embarassing if you dont know what I was talking about  ) :teeth:

pozey, I almost feel like I was in the van with you. That sounds remarkably like our childhood trip (in our own minivan) from Plano TX to Albuquerque. I think we may have stopped overnight on the way though. That is the trip where we detoured to visit Carlsbad Caverns on the way home from my aunt's house, if I am remembering correctly. I was about 11 or 12 and never very good at geography, so I might be combining two trips in my memory. Anyway, I spent the whole trip laid out in the back of the van with my Walkman (when Dad wasn't back there napping, that is) with my bare feet up on the window. Mom kept a secret bag of snacks & small toys for when we were getting bored and well behaved - and a flyswatter for when we were bored and not so well behaved! When we arrived at my aunt's house, she gave me a camera and I was so thrilled, it was my first "real" camera and not a crummy 110 - it was a Kodak Disc! Remember those awful things?

Anyway, I'm glad to hear the trip went well, sounds like your planning was well worth it. Can't wait to hear and see more!

Pozey - great start to your trip report! I can't believe you made it all the way to Flagstaff the first day! Can't wait to hear more.

Ashley - glad you're feeling a little better - get well soon!

YM - hope DS is OK!
