:confused3 Shopping vent........

I went to Target at lunch. Had to get a few things, and I wanted to find a pair of denim shorts for Courtney.

All I wanted was a plain pair of denim shorts. Nothing fancy. Just some shorts she could wear with any (okay.....Disney) shirt.

Nothing. Nada. I could not find a plain pair of denim shorts for a 4 year old girl. Now, skorts or colored cotton shorts.....fine.

This is the 2nd place I have looked and found nothing - the other store was Stage.

:confused3 :confused3 :confused3

I feel your pain! I just went to find some plain shorts for my children to go with our disney t-shirts (dh thinks it is just something they need) and I can't find anything. Everything has some kind of decorations or they are just cut all wrong! I'm off to the outlet stores to see what they have.

Thank you everyone for welcoming me. I like this board I think this is my kind of "clique":goodvibes

welcome surfergrl31...it is a blast here:woohoo:

pozey...maybe Childrens Place, Gymboree, Target???:scratchin sounds like some internet shopping to me ;)

lyzziesmom.... poor Emma!!! I'm curious to see what they have to say about it. I'd be upset too:mad:

I had the opposite shopping problem today. I felt Kohl's calling to me, so I popped over to see what they have. Didn't have much luck on the clearance rack, but then I decided to try on a couple of dresses. Mind you I haven't worn dresses in several years, probably since Lyzzie was little - just haven't found any that fit my lumpy shape. Turns out almost ALL the dresses at Kohl's fit to a T! AND I was able to fit into a size smaller than I usually wear. I am one happy camper!! The cashier talked me into signing up for a charge card and I saved $33.00 - woohooo! Guaranteed I will not be as happy when the bill comes though.

I do remember shopping for shorts for Lyzzie last year and having a rough time of it. Emma isn't so much of a problem, because she is still in toddler sizes and I tend to buy outfits that come together rather than seperates - I think she has maybe 2 pairs of shorts and 2 jeans.

pozey: Did you try Old Navy? They usually have a bunch of shorts this time of year, and are not too pricey. I don't know if they have plain ones though - you might have to settle for some flowers or sparkles. Good luck! It always seems like it's hard to shop for something specific, but if you don't really need anything you can find about a million things you want.

I've caught the bug SO BAD!!!! I've been checking out the DVC resort pix about all day:rolleyes1 I want to go just to check them out!!! Anybody want to buy a Harley:rotfl: oh sorry...

I know what you mean Linda, I am feeling the need to go to Disney bad right now!

Lyzziesmom- I might have to stop into Kohl's, I need to find a dress to wear to my dad's party.

Pozey- Good luck on finding shorts for Courtney!

Ugh, I want to go home!

Hi everyone!!!

Pozey, Glad DW is having fun in New Orleans! It's funny, I went there on a class trip in 7th grade and we saw much of what she did on Bourbon St :ssst: I don't think the parents/teachers were happy about that, but what did they expect when you are out in the late hours of the night?? I would love to go back there someday. BTW, I second Old Navy for Courtney. I shop there alot and even though I don't have kids I always look in that section. They always have really cute stuff.

Lyzziesmom, I wish I could find some cute, summer type dresses but I haven't had any luck. I used to look really cute in them, but now my hips are alittle too big  I can't find anything that fits my particular body type. I am bigger in the hips area but smaller on top, so alot of stuff doesn't look right- they usually are way to loose on top.

Nicole, I hope your feeling better! Two nights ago Jeremiah hurt himself really bad. I accidently left the phone charger in the middle of the floor :rolleyes1 (it's normally on the nightstand and I guess it got knocked off) and he stepped on it when he was getting up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Now he has this HUGE bruise on the bottom of his foot, it looks so painful!!!

Linda, Hi :flower3: I'm sure Jeremiah would like a Harley, if I would let him buy it!! I would be too nervous without a garage though, alot of bikes get stolen around here.

anybody excited about Big Love premiering June 11? I love that show :yay:

First off, let me give you a big :welcome: surfergrl31 !! There are some really great people in our little "cliqueless clique". And then there's me..... :rotfl2:

I know what you mean by the shorts having to have some kind of "decoration" or something other than just plain denim shorts. :confused3

I may go by Sears or Kohl's or somewhere else to take a quick look.

Lyzziesmom, I forgot to say I can't believe Emma has a bruise on her from yesterday!!! I would be absolutely furious. She's a 3 year old- they don't need to be so rough with her! I was telling Jeremiah about her incident yesterday and we were feeling so bad for her! I can't imagine what she must have felt! :sad2: Did your Mom update you on how they reacted?

Thanks for the Old Navy suggestion.

I looked on-line and they have some plain denim shorts. I may have to check the sizes though. Courtney normally wears a size 4 in shorts and jeans. Old Navy didn't have a size 4, but they had a size 5T that looked like the equivalent.

Ashley: I haven't talked to my Mom all day. I'm thinking she probably chickened out and decided Emma's ok after all. I tried to call her to suggest that she take pictures of the bruise, but she wasn't answering. Did Jeremiah's incident happen to be the same night that Ruby knocked over the nightstand?

Linda: I've got the bug too! Good thing it's so hot outside, that reminds me that I don't like WDW in the summer so I don't go checking prices. ;)

Remember how I told you all that Lyzzie's dad had a new pregnant girlfriend? He just IM'ed me that she "lost" the baby. But she didn't go to the dr, she just somehow knew. Yeah right. I think she lied all along, and then didn't know how to get out of it. He also said that she suddenly is too busy for him and was out 'till 4am the other night because he didn't call her, so she made other plans. It's like a soap opera -- I'm so glad I don't live around that group of people anymore. You guys have no idea, this kind of stuff seems "normal" to my old group of friends down in FL. Yikes!

Free root beer floats at Sonic tonight from 8pm - midnight!! I think it will be a late night for the kiddos tonight.

Lyzziesmom, Ruby knocked over the nightstand Monday and Jeremiah stepped on the charger in the middle of Monday night. Maybe that has something to do with it? ;) I picked up everything off the floor that she knocked over though, I really have NO idea how it got there!!

I think its a good idea that you take pics of the bruise, just in case.

I've always wanted to try Sonic! I always hear good things about it and a root beer float sounds awesome right now! I am also craving lasagne because there was a whole thread about it!!

Hmm, what a coincidence about Lyzzie's dad and his girlfriend. How can you "just know" that you miscarried? I don't get it :confused3 Aren't you supposed to go to the doctor just to be safe? Its a good thing, though- it doesn't sound like a good idea for them to bring a child into the world :scared:

Whoops, the free floats at Sonic isn't until tomorrow. Probably for the best, since my mom said the girls are wiped out & crabby from their day at the pool.

Ashley: That's exactly what I said to Lyzzie's dad! I asked him a bunch of questions about it, and he said she went to the Dr. to have a D&C after she "miscarried," but how did she know in the first place? He didn't know. Funny that all this happened before he had the chance to go to her OB/GYN with her. I told him if they can't even talk about dr. visits, they have no business having a baby. Then he made me SO mad... I had told him how well Lyzzie did on all her testing, and he said, "WE did good, didn't we?" What's this WE business?? I didn't see YOU there helping her learn to read!

I think her night went kinda like this:

:drinking1 :earseek:  :tilt:

And this morning.........:headache:

:rotfl2:

Pozey...you are too funny...only the DH can post one like that.:lmao: :lmao:

Well, just "talked" to DW via e-mail. She's having a good time, and the work part of it is going well too.

She said she is writing up her report today and should have it finished by this afternoon and is going to leave early and go shopping. And of course, she said the whole group has decided to go back to Pat O'Brian's tonight. :rotfl2:

She said that one of the girls in the group is from the Tampa/St. Petersburg office. She is trying to talk DW into transferring to that office. :thumbsup2 (thumb)

I'm all for it....

Pozey... wouldn't that be great!:woohoo:  :woohoo:

Hey Linda...have fun at Kenny's t-ball game. Base hit...home run...we don't care...either one....GOOOOOOOOOOOO KENNNNNNNNYYYYY!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: Tell Kenny that was from the coconut race lady.:rotfl2:

Good luck to Kenny at his t-ball game!! Take pictures Linda!
I only took 128:rotfl: I have to practice ;)

Linda: I've got the bug too! Good thing it's so hot outside, that reminds me that I don't like WDW in the summer so I don't go checking prices. ;)

yes, it's way too hot now, but we can always plan for a few months from now
Oh, now all of a sudden she "lost" the baby:confused3 sounds too fishy too me. I had a few miscarriages before I got pregnant with Kenny and I did know when I miscarried b/c the positive tests then weeks later the heavy bleeding, but I don't think that was the case w/her:sad2:

Aren't you supposed to go to the doctor just to be safe?
yeah, but even then....things can go wrong. when I miscarried the first time, I had a positive test, a few weeks later I started bleeding badly, rushed to the dr and you know what they did...took my BLOOD, told me I was still pregnant and told me to go home!!!!! I could have hemoraged to death the morons!!! Even right after you have a miscarriage or give birth you'll still have a positive test b/c the hormones are still in your body!!! But again, I think this chick was lying the whole time about it....

"WE did good, didn't we?" What's this WE business?? I didn't see YOU there helping her learn to read!
OMG..I bet you wanted to choke him! WE:confused3 I DON'T THINK SO!!!! YOU did good!

Hey Linda...have fun at Kenny's t-ball game. Base hit...home run...we don't care...either one....GOOOOOOOOOOOO KENNNNNNNNYYYYY!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: Tell Kenny that was from the coconut race lady.:rotfl2:
:rotfl: he can't wait to do that again! Ok...I'm just practicing but I took some I thought were cute:love:

Linda: those pictures look great! The focus on the camera is amazing. That's something I always love in a photo, the way it can focus on the subject and the background is a little blurry. I can do that with mine but only if I use the manual focus, and kids move too darn fast to mess with that!

ETA - I forgot to say that I love that first picture. The look on his face, "Mo-om, just let me play already!"
