Good morning Cliquelessers! We are halfway through the work week already -- or as Lyzzie so helpfully pointed out this morning, we will be at noon today. Smartypants!
My mom is taking Emma back to the dentist today - when they restrained her, somehow they bruised her head in two places. She has a big purple bruise on the top of her head at her cowlick, and another one across the front of her forehead. My mom said they had her in sort of a headlock and they obviously were overly forceful. I don't really know what good it'll do to take her in just to show them, but I am very upset about this. And then the poor kid still has to go back in a few weeks to get the rest of her fillings done. Emma says her head doesn't hurt, and she told me the drill scared her because it sounded like a bee. I guess she just wasn't prepared enough.
I had a bad mommy moment last night... an hour after the girls went to bed, I heard Emma call for me that she had to poop. So off to the bathroom we rushed, only for her to sit there for 20 minutes singing songs and goofing off, but no action. So back to bed she went. 5 minutes later, "Mommy I have to go potty!" (Keep in mind this was after 5 minutes of "I'm hungry, I'm thirsty, my tummy hurts, I have to call Grammy..." every excuse in the book to get out of bed.) So I told her "NO you don't!" Another 1/2 hour goes by, and then, "I have to poop again!" "NO you don't!" Then Lyzzie yelled, "She means it this time!" I'm thinking... how would she know that? So I popped my head in. There's poor little Emma, laying with her head down & butt in the air, grunting like a stuck pig and covered in a layer of sweat. She had grunted so hard that she blew a big snot bubble out of her nose -- which is really gross but was also pretty funny. Needless to say I was too late in getting her to the bathroom, and I felt horrible about not believing her. But really, she had been up & down so many times that I thought it was just another excuse to stall bedtime! Oops. I guess if that's my worst Mommy moment of the day, I'm not doing so bad.
The girls are going to the pool this afternoon, so of course they had to wear their swimsuits this morning. I bet they're going to drive my mom crazy(er) all day asking, "Can we go yet?"
One more funny story, and then I need to get working! Lyzzie was lamenting this morning that her hair is frizzy, and I said, "Yeah well take a look at mine, it's Frizz City." She looked and said, "No Mommy, mine is Frizz City. YOURS is Frizz Island! Because islands are a lot bigger than cities, y'know."
Nicole: How's the new computer? I just love getting everything set up just the way I like it on a new machine.
Linda: Can't wait to see the pix from the new camera! I expect them to be fabulous. Pretzel for dinner? You're starting to sound like me!
Donna: Those muffins look great! They almost remind me of the lava cakes at the Spirit of Aloha, but yours actually look tastier. Gotta love that chocolate sauce!
