So......should I be happy that he did it? Should I be embarrassed that he thinks I don't take care of my leaves? Should I be offended? I don't know what to think..... :confused3

Excuse me pozey, I didn't see your post until I submitted mine. I think I can see your concern. I'm seeing it that the neighbor was trying to be helpful, knowing you are a busy, working and active family. We can all see by the pics you post that you have a beautiful home that you should be very proud of.

We used to live next to a man who worked nights and mowed his yard about every other day. We used to make jokes about Larry not being able to tell where he was mowing, just out blowing dust!! I heard a really strange sound one morning when I was eating breakfast about 5am (had to be at work at 6am), come to find out it was our neighbor out washing his truck!!!

Actually, DW baked a lot of cookies this afternoon. I took about a dozen of them over to him after I got home. Told him I appreciated it. He said that he just enjoys working out in the yard. I (jokingly) told him that there were more leaves on the side of the yard.... :rotfl2:
Oh, heck, nevermind!!! I seem to be a few posts behind!! :teeth:

Welcome, Marybrat! Stick with us and you'll be earning your ears before you know it. We tend to bring out the inner chattiness in people.

pozey, that's too funny about your DW and the cookies. That was my first thought, was that you should bring them some cookies or a cheesecake or something! I know I could be motivated to do a lot more yardwork if there were baked goods involved!

YM, here is the pic I mentioned of Emma with her sunscreen reaction. My dad & I came off of Splash Mountain with Lyzzie to find my mom in front of Pecos Bill's with Emma. She was horribly blotchy and rubbing her eyes, and because my mom's contacts don't work very well close up, she couldn't see it and just kept applying more sunscreen because she thought Emma was just wiping it off. This picture was taken in the restroom about 15 minutes later, after washing her with cold water for several minutes:
Sept2006076.jpg

Luckily I'd seen this on her before, and knew that it would go away on its own. Still quite scary though, and the trauma did earn her a Mickey Bar!! (and one for her very brave mother for keeping her shinola together through the whole thing.)

Ouch...not looking too good. I bet she rubbed a bunch in her eye too. She certainly deserved a Mickey Bar. We have to be careful with sunscreen too. When my boys were little I couldn't use any of the baby lotions on their face. The Grandma's tried to sneak some on several times and they always had bright red cheeks when I would pick them up... :rolleyes1

I'm gald you are home and resting from your ablation. :flower3: How long will it take for you to know if it worked?

Well, I will take this oppurtunity to thank you for the donuts...now who is behind? :teeth:

That was my oldest DS with the hives. He just finished a drug called Omnicef for a sinus infection that I had let go for several weeks hoping it would go away. He finished the medication on Saturday pm (although he confessed to me today that he spit out the last dose :confused3 ). Sunday morning I noticed the hives. By Sunday night his arms and legs were covered. I called the peds office to make he wasn't at risk for throat swelling...which he felt like he was not. He tried to make it at school today but they were too itchy. I picked him up and took him to his ped as he was covered on his whole body and a few on his face. He did confirm it was drug related so we have him dosed up on zyrtec and benadryl. If he doesn't get better we will add steroids....did you guys need all of those detail. :teeth: :)

lyzziesmom...I'm sure that was very scary to be pregnant and almost have you throat swell shut from hives. That was exactly what I was worried about with DS.

Dznyfan...it's funny how playing can take your mind off anything. I'm sure the itching didn't bug him so much when he was jumping on the trampoline. :teeth: Glad you enjoyed your weeked at the lake. Are you going up for Thanksgiving anytime? Yeah...Pride...I saw all the excitment on the news tonight. :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :woohoo:

Pozey...seems like you guys figured out a good way to handle the leaf situation....cookies...yum!

Lin...hope you had a good day at work. princess:

Amber... :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: the single digit dance....are you starting to pack? :dance3: :yay:

Hey Marybrat... :welcome:

I have a follow-up appointment on Friday, but they told me I won't really know by then if it was successful. I explained that I can NOT take time off my new job in the first week!! So... I should know in a couple weeks if it feels better.

Good morning everyone!!! How about a little French Toast this morning? Can we go to France in Epcot to eat it? I guess we can pretend we are!!! ;)

frenchtoast.jpg

Enjoy!!

I hope everyone has a Totally Awesome Tuesday!!!!

Donna, breakfast looks yummy!

lyzziesmom, glad the procedure went ok. I can't believe you woke up! My brother did that when he had teeth pulled. He woke up and became angry and combative.

pozey, I wouldn't be offended, but I would just be glad someone was doing the work for me. Maybe your neighbors know that you are busy people and they are just trying to help. Are the generally nice and friendly? My mom will mow her neighbors yards when they are gone or busy and they appreciate it (she hates grass that's over an inch. She mows several times a week, so if the neighbors grass gets tall it bugs her).

YM, the poor thing. Does it hurt or itch?

I'm not packed yet. I will be doing that Sunday (on Saturday we have to go visit a friend). I do have most things sitting just waiting to be put into the suitcases. Two suitcases and a bag for each of use should be enough right?? I WAY overpack, because I depise doing laundry on vacation. Good thing we drive. :teeth:

Gummi Bears is out today (seasons 1-3)! :cheer2: Mike and I watched that when we were younger. I love that show and can't wait to see it.

Have a great day, everyone!!!

Since DW was off "sick" yesterday... :rotfl2: she decided to buy some new bedding for Courtney's room. And of course I had to take pictures....

Whatcha think?

I also took a bunch of pictures of Colton's room - his is our ALL DISNEY room. But for some reason, they didn't load on Photobucket, and they are on my home PC. I'll try to reload them tonight and post them either tonight or tomorrow.

Good morning all!

Donna- thanks for the french toast, much better than what I had planned (which was coffee and maybe some cereal).

Pozey-- I don't know how your neighbors are but around here we all help each other out from time to time. A lot of times we shovel part of our neighbors walks, my son likes to be out in the snow and it's really not a problem to just keep going. My husband will also mow our yard and the part of our neighbors yard that joins ours on the side of the house. Things like that. I think baked goodies as an appreciation are a great idea and a way to get to know your neighbors better. Cute bedding by the way! :wizard:

Lyzziesmom- glad everything went reasonably well. Hope that you have a good result! :thumbsup2

Amber- Think of us poor snow bound people when you are enjoying the sun and fun on your trip! :goodvibes Hope you have a great time!

Side note- Is anyone here thinking about participating in the WPASADI contest?

Well, off to take my young one to school. Have a great morning!

pozey, that room is adorable. I love the bedding (it even has Snow White. She's my favorite princess, but she gets left out of a lot of things).

keagansmom, I will think of everyone in colder climates. It's nasty here today and cold. I hope that I have good weather in WDW, but not too hot (heck, I wouldn't mind 60º, that's warm to me).

Yumm...thanks Donna for the french toast! Just think...in a couple of months we won't have to pretend. :woohoo:

lyzziesmom...hope you are pain free (or at least improved) by two week mark.

Amber....sounds like a good plan for packing. We really can't use our big bag anymore because it's always over 50lbs. I guess we could pack our pillows in it. Anyway, as long as you have the space two bags per person is the way to go! My DS isn't not in pain....he's only itches...severe at times...which makes him a bit of a pain(I can say this since I'm his mom) ;)

Pozey...love Courtney's room. I bet she was sooooo excited. :Pinkbounc princess: I'm glad you wife made good use of her time. ;)

Keagansmom...how nice of you guys to help shovel snow. :) How old is your DS?

Pardon my ignorance.......but what is WPASADI?

Good mid-morning all!!!!

I ended up going out to my sister's house yesterday after work and since my BIL is out of town once again I stayed the night. My sister never gets any sleep when he is away because she is a worryer (sp??) (runs in the family). Also, my nephew kept pointing his finger at me, saying, "you're staying, right??" I guess that left me no choice. :teeth:

I slept in the room with my niece and a couple of times she woke up during the night saying, "aunt-t, did you call me??" No, Izzy----go back to sleep. Other than that, I slept pretty well.

Lyzziesmom----glad to hear things went well yesterday. I have to admit, I thought about you a couple of times at work, wondering how you were doing. I hope it was a success. Are you hurting now?? Probably sore because of the bruising. ouch. Try and relax---you have the whole week. :goodvibes
Poor Emma!!!!! She doesn't look like it bothered her too much, though---at least in this picture.

YM---Just the sight of your DS' picture makes me itch!!!! He had to have been miserable. Did the benadryl take effect pretty quickly??

Donna----Since I missed the donuts yesterday----I will be more than happy scarfing up the French Toast!!!! And in France----in Epcot-----better yet!!!!! You guys are going to have to tolerate me there----I can sit through Impressions de France several times------in a row!! :teeth: :lmao: We can go to the patisserie and have some yummies and cafe au lait in between showings. ;)

Amber-----I know I just got back not too long ago, but I am so green with envy!!!!!! Does Donna have your itinerary???? Don't ya just love single digits?? :cheer2: :cheer2: :cool1: :cool1: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Pozey----I think you handled the leaf concern very well. Homemade cookies can rectify any situation. I wouldn't worry too much about it----like the others said---he probably knows how busy you are and he was out there anyway.
Courtney's room is darling and of course, her picture as a baby----what a doll!!!!
Hope Mrs. P is feeling better.

Keagansmom----I cannot remember if we have formally met----so WELCOME, if I hadn't said it already.
Good luck and :wizard: :wizard: to DH for his interview. If he is accepted, where will this take you in a relocation??

Hi Lin-----busy girl, huh???? I bet!!!!!! Sing it with me----"happy holidays, happy holidays"

DznyFan----how are things going at the lake?? Will you spend most of your weekends there??

Hi to the rest of the gang!!!!!!!

Before I go------to those who are attending the Pirate/Princess party on Monday night-----did you purchase your tickets yet?? Or are you planning to do that at the gate?? I noticed the tickets are a bit discounted if you purchase in advance. I'm not sure I want to take a chance of a sell-out, so as soon as I get my vacation request approved, I may go ahead and call to order.

I see the oncologist tomorrow after work, so I will have a better feel for the impending new treatments and what kind of schedule I will be on.

I must run------have a great day everyone!!!!

Hi all!! We cracked and told our boys about our "suprise" trip, I really wanted to get our suitcase out! They are excited (of course!) although Connor told me new Spongebob is on Friday nights but we're going to Disney World, I reminded him there are tv's there but we'll be having so much fun we won't watch it. I also suggested we could just stay home but he said NO! :rotfl: Sounds like the Cliqueless will be having a great time in Feb, I'm a tad jealous. :)

I hope the itching goes away soon, and that omnicef is some nasty tasting medicine too! Connor just finished antibiotic for a sinus infection that I don't think worked so we'll be doing Omnicef too I'm sure, ugh!

Pozey-Sounds like you have some good neighbors, mowing can become addicting I'm sure so why not mow for you too! :rotfl: Whenever I see one of those commercials for the "Field and brush mower" I always think if I had one I'd be looking for any overgrowth anywhere to mow it down!:lmao: Courtney's room is so cute and so girly I love it! :thumbsup2

Donna- Hey girl!! It has been so long since I've had french toast my mouth was watering looking at that picture, yummmmay!

Lyzziesmom-Glad everything went ok with your procedure hope you heal quickly. I love Emma's song, Ben and Connor both make up some funny songs!

Amber- :dance3: :woohoo: :woohoo: Almost time for your trip!! I know you are just as excited as we are. Since we will only be there 5 days/4 nights I'm trying to not overpack, for the boys a few pairs of shorts, few pairs of sweatpants/jeans shirts and sweatshirts. I love to have options but I don't know who I'm kidding my wardrobe leaves much to be desired anyway! I was going to ship a box of snacks down but it turned out to be cheaper to have gardengrocer bring over all that stuff.

2x2's-Hope your Dr's appointment goes well :grouphug:

Hi to everyone!! :wave2: :moped: Going to clean my dump house I function so much better clutter free!

Morning, everyone!
Fabulous French Toast, Donna - thanks!

Hi everybody and welcome back Keagansmom! You got snow up there where you are?

We finally have everything turned on and hooked up. We don't know how the revolting neighbors are taking it. (not that the neighbors are revolting, you know; the neighbors that are revolting...) that didn't help, did it?

Pozey - Courtney's room is adorable! Erin has the exact same furniture...
How funny. I think the bedroom furniture that is in Courtney's room is actually DW's furniture when she was a young girl.

Good morning all, afternoon for some of you!

Donna....Thanks again for the wonderful breakfast!

Lizziesmom...I hope you aren't in too much pain today! I love Emma's songs, they remind me of when my girls were cute and little. :teeth:

YM...Your poor little one! There is nothing worse than when medicine that is suppose to make you feel better gives you some nasty side effects. I am itching just looking at his picture. :wizard: I hope he feels better soon!

Keagansmom... :wizard: My fingers are crossed for your DH! I agree, hopefully it is somewhere warmer. Maybe Florida! :thumbsup2 :sunny: Oh and what is WPASADI? :confused3

Amber...I am feeling really old now! Gummy bears, I only know them as a chewy candy and vitamins. A cartoon? :confused3 Where have I been?

Pozey...I love Courtney's room. My girls are past the princess stage and it makes me really sad. They grow up way too soon!

2x2...I'm not sure about the Pirate/princess party. I must have missed that somewhere. What is it? I guess I could look it up, but I'm too lazy! Good luck at the oncologist! :wizard:

Hello to anyone I missed!

I have to whine a little. Dh husband left yesterday to go hunting. About 1 1/2 hours into his trip I got home from working market day at school and pull into the drive my day/week went downhill really fast. When I got out of the car it started to rain so I decided to pull in the garage, go to start the car back up, won't start. Just a lot of clicking. So I call dh who is now way on the other side of Chicago through the massive traffic and ask him where the AAA card is. Of course it is with him. He calls AAA and they say they will come out without the card. O.k. with a jump the van starts. The AAA guy says that he wouldn't recommend me shutting it off again because the battery died minutes after it had been running. I had only 1/2 hour to get it to the dealership before it closed. I get it there just in a nick of time, they inform me that it is now out of warranty, like 200 miles ago, of course  . I do have the extended warranty that kicked in, but it is now $100 deductible. O.k. fine. I need a rental. O.k. but there are 3 people in front of me waiting for a ride to pick a rental up. :sad2: I finally get to the rental place, they give me a smelly van, it smelled like someone spilled a bottle of Windex in it, but whatever, it is late, I'm tired, the kids have called my cell phone 20x's I'll take it. I am still not familiar with this area as I stick to the main roads, well without the GPS in my car, I get lost on the way home! :sad2: I finally feel my way home only to find the kids fighting, the dog going crazy racing around the house, the house a mess, is it Feb. yet? It's going to be a long week. O.k. whining over! :teeth:
