I was just looking at Mouseplanet...Bad news...

The National Dance Team Championships are the weekend we are at WDW. I went to their website and got some information:

What is the schedule like for the weekend?
Friday, February 2- Teams arrive in Orlando. Special “UDA Night” at the Magic Kingdom® Park for those team members and families purchasing the NDTC travel package. (Extended hours at the Magic Kingdom® Park with exclusive use of the Magic Kingdom’s® most exciting rides!)
Saturday, February 3- Preliminary competitions, semi finals and some Varsity Finals at Disney-MGM Studios and Disney’s Wide World of SportsTM Milkhouse.
Sunday, February 4- Preliminary competitions, semifinals and some Varsity finals at Disney-MGM Studios and Disney’s Wide World of SportsTM Milkhouse. This evening join us for our Championship Celebration Party at Disney-MGM Studios.
Monday, February 5- Teams visit a Walt Disney World® Resort Theme Park of their choice.
Tuesday, February 6- Teams depart Orlando.
* This is a tentative schedule and may change to accommodate the number of teams in each category. The NDTC rules committee reserves the right to determine if a preliminary or semi-final round will be necessary.

In what hotel are we staying?
Accommodations will be provided at Disney's All-Star Resorts and Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort. Your team may choose which resort they would like to be housed in. Disney's All-Star Resort is a very nice yet economical hotel. Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is considered to be a more upscale hotel on the Walt Disney World property. Therefore the difference in the package price is the hotel cost only. All other services will remain the same for both hotels. In the event that the Walt Disney World Resorts sell out of rooms, the NDTC will try to make arrangements with an alternate hotel off property.
PLEASE NOTE: Hotels may fill up prior to posted deadlines!

The bold-face is mine!! We are lucky tho. The cheerleaders arrive on the 9th. So we will miss that! The dancers should be a lot quieter than the cheerleaders, I hope!!! :cheer2:

I haven't looked at the park hours for our trip yet. I hope they don't close the MK early on Friday or the Studios early on Sunday!! When I call Disney later today I will ask about this. I wonder if they will have that information? sometimes the right hand really doesn't know what the left hand is doing

Michele... I'm not too worried about that, we can plan around the dance team's schedules. As long as we plan to not attend the parks they are attending on the same days, it should be ok. It does help with my hotel decision though - I was thinking of trying AsMusic!! The way I look at it is... there is always something going on at WDW. It could be much worse. Last year I was there during opening weekend of Star Wars Weekends, and I was even at MGM on the first day. Everything was walk-on. It was also during F&G at Epcot - again, walk-ons. We will have a good time regardless!!

Whew! I just read through 10 pages because last night it wouldn't let me get on the site, some database problem. But, I'm caught up!!!!

Ah, the National Dance Team Championship! I used to coach a JV squad and it was so much fun. You guys shouldn't have to much trouble with them because the events are exclusive to them at MGM and MK, basically exclusive extra magic hours for NDTC participants. But, you will have different teams at different parks when they aren't competeing and they will be loud! Lizziesmom, they DO NOT stay at Pop, so if you go with a value go with that one unless you want to listen to them practice their routines loudly in the parking lot outside your room until all hours of the night. If you don't you will wake up with this running through your head...and 5, 6, 7, 8. Kick,2,3,4 piroutte 6,7,8 chane 2,3,4and so on. Hehehe.

Saying a prayer for your back surgery, Lizziesmom, and your treatment 2x!

Got the results back from Chris's spinal tap and everything is normal but they want him to come back in 6 months for another MRI to ensure that the spot hasn't changed or more developed. If he starts to feel numbness anywhere he is supposed to go in immediately. So, we got the best news we could hope for, not MS, but are still supposed to watch it because it would become MS someday... I think.

So, as far as the Boyfriend/Girlfriend bit goes, me and Chris played the wrong roles. I was a little distant, not so touchy feely, not so "must see you" as he was. He wanted to spend all his time with me and it irritated me a little because he would invite himself when he found out I was hanging out with my girlfriends. We talked about it and worked out a compromise that obviously turned out well. Pozey, you seem freakishly like my husband...if it wasn't for the pictures of your kids I might suspect you were him in disguise.

Happy Birthday Nicole!!! I would make you a cake but I don't think you would ever get to it after all the others! So, how about a nice glass of milk to wash it down with.

2x, was it you who asked about my procedure for my back? I think I completely forgot to answer! If I did answer already, please ignore the rest of this post. Here's the rundown:

My back problem is arthritis of the SI joint, which is where the spine meets the pelvis. The arthritis itself is untreatable. However, it puts some pressure on the sciatic nerve and other nerves in the area, causing a lot of additional pain. The procedure I'm scheduled for is called RadioFrequency (RF) Ablation. It is performed similar to the cortisone injections, except that instead of an injection, there is a probe at the end of the needle that is heated/electrified and "zaps" the sciatic nerve and surrounding nerves. This will be done at the SI joint and the facet joint, the next joint just above it. So it will not cure the problem, but if it is successful, it will block the pain messages from reaching my brain. I believe I've already mentioned that the chances for success are not great, and there is a chance of permanent nerve damage. Even if it works, the nerves will most likely regenerate and I'll need to have it done again in 6-24 months. I'm only having one side done at first to see if it works, and then I can have the other side done in a couple months. One side is much worse than the other anyway.

I really didn't want to do this, but the pain is getting to a level where it is intolerable. It's not even that it's so horribly bad all the time, the intensity gets better & worse, but it is nearly constant pain and it's really wearing me down. You know how if you are sleeping and you have to pee, you will dream about water and/or bathrooms? I dream about pain. I've come to rely on narcotics just to make it through the day, and they are not even very effective, which scares me because I'm still young. So, I'm willing to give it a shot (no pun intended) and hope for the best. I will probably be DISing a LOT next week, because the recovery time is about 5 days, with a chance that I'll have difficulty walking for 3 or 4 days.

To change the subject.... Donna, I forgot to thank you for the donuts this morning, they look scrumptious! I think I will need a trip to Krispy Kreme this weekend.

Lin, thanks for the report on your dance team experience! I was laughing when reading about getting the chants in my head... because I can just imagine Emma copying the routines. She'd love it!! Me - not so much.

Hey everybody :wave2: I've been trying to keep up reading the posts today but just now getting the chance to post.

First...HAPPY BIRTHDAY NICOLE!!!

Well, good news and bad news.... The earliest thing available for Ohana Sat. is 7:15pm. So I went ahead and made the adr but that does mean we'd miss Spectro and we'd have to watch Wishes from Ohana. Now...we did do this our last trip and it was a beautiful view and they pipe the music in,but I know we wanted to watch spectro and wishes in the mk....so what do you guys want to do? stick w/Ohana or cancel it and go another time or place? Plus, if you guys want the adr #'s for your itineraries just let me know.
did we want to go ahead and try for Le Cellier for Fri evening? what time? I know Donna won't get in til about 8. we don't mind to wait til then but what do you guys want to do? I know 2x and lyzziesmom should be there earlier but not sure who else is in for Fri. evening. just let me know. I made the adr for Sat. for 11 people.

:woohoo: less than 90 days :woohoo:

Linda, thanks for getting right on those ADRs!! I'm fine with watching Wishes from 'Ohana, in fact I'd probably prefer that since I hate trying to escape with the herd at MK closing. My favorite time seeing Wishes on my last trip was when we left just before it started and watched it from the bus! But I'm weird like that. I've never been to Le Cellier and would like to try it if we can get in. If it's booked, perhaps we could try it for lunch? Just throwing ideas out there. As I've said before, I'm happy just to be there with you guys and will gladly tag along wherever we end up!

Good Afternoon!

Donna- Thanks for breakfast!

Lyzziesmom- Wow! Your back pain sounds terrible! :grouphug: I hope the treatment works.

2X- I hope your treatment works too. :grouphug:

Pozey- I'm glad that Colton is feeling better.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes, cake, and milk! Those Tink cakes are beautiful. I think as a birthday gift to myself, I will take cake decorating classes. :scratchin I have always wanted to take them.

Nicole, decorating classes sound like so much fun...and tasty too ;) that is a great idea!!

lyzziesmom...in April we ate at Ohana at 9pm and wishes was at 10. Mike told me as we were leaving that he was thinking this was the one "dumb" thing I did since I do all the planning...to eat at 9pm!!! What was she thinking??? well he told me b/c after he ate there and watched wishes ....it turned out to be one of our favorite meals. Le Cellier was our favorite for the food but Ohana was our favorite for the fun atmosphere and view of Wishes. You see much more...things you wouldn't notice at the castle...it is beautiful. They sat us right at the glass w/a perfect view...it was magical!!! Plus, you're right...no crowds :woohoo: I love watching it at the castle too... and watching spectro.....but I think it will be ok. I would have made it for 5 if it were open...but... no luck. I'm sure we could keep checking between now and then if someone really wants to be at the mk and watch spectro.

LeCellier is so excellent!!!! we ate there for lunch and it was really nice. Do we want to try for dinner Fri?

Linzy.......Your husband sounds like a GREAT guy!! :lmao: :rotfl2:

Nicole, too bad you don't live close to me, I have also always wanted to take cake decorating classes! It seems like so much fun, plus you get to eat your projects. How much better can it get?

Linda, on my last trip I did all the planning and my dad also thought it was stupid that I had us at an 8:30 dinner at Alfredo's in Epcot. It didn't help that it was raining that evening, and 2 things he hates are rain and waiting. He almost left twice because Emma was crabby and he was impatient. He ended up taking Emma outside to see Illuminations between dinner & dessert, and kept talking about how without the DDP we would not have had such wonderful experiences such as fireworks after dinner every day. And he also loved that by the time we were done with dinner, the crowds had disappeared and it was like we had the park to ourselves. I'll say it again: MEN! (rolling eyes furiously)

;) yes... I hear you....
but isn't it so awesome... :cloud9: in April we ate at CRT...and watched Wishes from inside the castle  that was awesome too!!! thanks to all the reading I do here on the dis...we had an awesome time. The 9pm dinner was the only thing he said that he was thinking I bumped my head on :teeth: until afterwards of coarse! After we ate at LeCellier...he asked me why we weren't going to eat there twice...I guess he really liked it!! well, we're off to our first parent/teacher conference. this will be interesting :rolleyes1

Nicole
Happy Birthday!!!

Well, I just called to add the extra night onto the room ressies. No problem :thumbsup2 Then I asked about adding the DDP to it. Problem!! :sad2: If I add the DDP to our room we lose the passholder discount so the room goes from $114 a night to $155 plus the $38 a night for the DDP for each of usPlus the $71.36 for each of us for the one day park pass we would each need to buy.

The girl was so nice and ran a fake reservation so we could get an accurate cost. The price goes from $513 to $1,176.94. That's a big difference!!

Lesa, we'll need to talk!!! :rolleyes1

I think the ADR for Ohana's Saturday night sounds like a winner. I've never eaten at Le Cellier so that for Friday night sounds fun too. Just count me in for everything. Even if I will be paying for it myself :rolleyes1

Have a great night!!

Oh I forgot to tell you...even tho I didn't have school today the teachers were there. So I'm checking my school email and we all got a Student's Medical History list. It just lists all of the kids and what problems they have, i.e. wears glasses, asthma, ADHD ect. Well I find this kid's name and it says that he passes out in cases of extreme heat or stress..WHAT!!! I don't know about all of you, but I think this is information we should have had BEFORE November!!!! :furious: Oh and this is my favorite, it follows that info up with *no medical intervention necessary* Unless of course he runs his face into a brick wall!!! Sometimes I swear it's like the inmates are running the assylum!!

I had someone come to the door. As I'm standing there I look to my neighbor's house across the street...he has his Christmas decorations up!!! Now I totally get putting them up early if we have nice weather, but it has been raining nonstop all day and it only got to around 44 degrees here. I'm thinking we'll have nicer days. Heck tomorrow is supposed to be 64 and sunny, this couldn't wait a day :confused3

Wow. have I rambled today or what? Apparently I can't handle a day off

Michele, your neighbor is nuts!! My folks are actually contemplating putting up their Xmas decorations this week, but we are having a run of nice weather - tomorrow is supposed to get up to 81!! My kids are wearing skirts today! Of course, they say it'll be nice and then we got outside this morning and it was 41 with fog so thick I couldn't see across the street. Very eerie. Emma was cute, all the way to my mom's house (about 15 minutes) she kept saying "foggy outside!" until Lyzzie yelled at her to be quiet. She clammed up, stuck out the bottom lip and said very quietly "Izzie mean". It was all I could do not to crack up laughing!

I love hearing about the things Emma says. I can't wait to meet her!!

Dznyfan----hiya sis!! Maybe it's a generation/mothery thing.??
:wave2:
You know - you may have something with the generation/mothery thing... Linda mentioned something about her mom being about the same, and Lesa. But one would think the OPPOSITE of moms in that generation - I know I'm a few years older than most of ya'll, so that would make my mom a few years older than most of yours. My dad, who was 'older' when I came into existence, is probably the age of most of your grandparents. Dad was very loving and warm, but he worked usually at least 2 jobs at a time so that my mother didn't have to work, and even though we were on a tight budget, we had things most kids around me didn't (a show horse ranch.). So, dad wasn't around a whole lot, and he worked nights, which didn't help in my not seeing much of him. Then mom kicked him out of the house when I was 12 'cause she didn't like him anymore. :confused3 I know it wasn't drugs that screwed [my] mom up - I was born before that became popular. I should have been raised as part of the Donna Reed mothering generation. WTH happened?

I still make mistakes, but my girls and I are much closer than I ever was with either of my parents, for that I am grateful! :grouphug: to us Dznyfan for using our bad experiences growing up an learning from them to help become better parents to our kids.
awww.... thanks, Lesa! :grouphug:

wow... what a day off Michele! that is a huge price difference of coarse.
I have passed out a few times too :rolleyes1 never at school or anything. Just at the dentist office...something about needles coming at my face :confused3 my brain just says no thank you :teeth: and good night.

your neighbor has his Xmas decor up and in the rain  not us... not til Thanksgiving any way.

Yeah I know what you mean, we're paying oop for our meals too. We can't get the ddp on the cruise combo for some reason :confused3 they need to change that!! But...they give you 7 day park hoppers and you only use 3 or 4 days of it...so that is nice. we just have to pay to upgrade to non expiration.

I'll call about Le Cellier...see what they have available for Fri. night :woohoo: ahhh love the filet mignon

lyzziesmom... "Izzie Mean" :cloud9: she is so adorable!!!!

oh... the parent/teacher conf. she said she wished she had a room full of "Kenny's" ...he's so well behaved and does so well academically... couldn't ask for a better child :cloud9: I knew that but it is good to hear from someone else too ;) I told her about her trip for Feb. she said she'd do the same thing...so that's cool :)!!! She asked if she could join us ;)

dznyfan...what happened? Not sure..I think about that sometimes too :sad2: but thankfully we just use it as a learning experience. Kenny and I are very close and I love that. I don't ever want that to change. I don't want him to be a big "mommas boy" as they say...but I want him to grow up to be a good man! A good husband and father!! Besides pozey will appreciate it for his daughter ;) j/k pozey! :teeth:

:

Michele...call them back and have them quote the package with the code zcl...or even do you own quote online. I just did it for you and got $1311 for the 4 nights with dining and 5 day park hoppers (2 adults). It's the current code and it gives a tiny discount on rooms and free park hopping. She was probably searching for the rack rate without a code. It still may be a little high for you guys but it's better than $1776! So for each it would be $655...food, hopper tickets, and room. :)
