Glad to be of service, YM! For what it's worth, I'm not always that decisive about the Dr's. For instance, they want me to have this RF Ablation procedure for my back (a.k.a. Nerve Zapping) and it's been 4 or 5 months since they first suggested it and I still can't decide if I want to try it or get a 2nd opinion. I think I'm just scared that another doctor might find that something else is wrong.

Well the phone interview went amazingly well, because I am fantastic on the phone! I have been told that I have a great phone voice, and it was very nice being able to interview while barefoot with notes in front of me! They are sending someone down from their IL office next week to interview me in person. The job is nearly identical to what I'm doing now, but in a different industry. But really, admin and HR is the same no matter what the industry is. I never did hear back from that other job. I have another interview tomorrow, and another phone one on Thursday.

Sounds like the kids are here - We are off to Red Robin for dinner!

Evening all!

I'm so far behind I won't even try to catch up.

Happy Anniversary DonnaWho messed with the order of the smilies??? :confused3  Anyway :dance3: :cheer2:  :rockband: party:

We just got back from the urgent care. Madison fell off the balance beam at gymnastics and we thought she broke her elbow. Luckily it is just sprained. The owner of the gym freaked out because Madison is double jointed and she has these freaky elbows that over extend and well he thought she really did some damage and refused to move her and called the ambulance. They carried her out to the ambulance and of course she started moving her arm. We opted out of an expensive ride in the ambulance and walked back through the gym, the owner was shocked to see her up and walking. :lmao: Anyway now she is in an ace bandage and she insists she won't be able to go to school now because she can't write.

Remember I told you about my Aunt that fell and broke her leg when we were there last weekend. Well she found out today that it is more broke than first thought and now she will have surgery on it Thursday to put a plate and pins in it. :sad2:

I hope everyone is well! I'm going to bed now, I have another migraine coming on. Besides tomorrow is a better day, right?! ;)

Lesa- :grouphug: Oh no! I'm glad Madison isn't hurt too bad. I hope she gets to feeling better soon.

Are any of ya'll on My Space? I just joined there, I must be the last person on Earth to join and was wondering if any of the Cliqueless dissers have a page.

Excuse me for my lateness Happy Anniversary Donna!! :cool1: :woohoo: :yay: :bride:

Pozey that cheescake looks so yummy, do you do birthdays? How did your cheescake rate in the contest?

Lyzziesmom sorry about the shots not working, I'm all for getting second opinions. I totally agree with you about Dr.'s and I've switched a few times. I go to a medium sized practice and I went to this one Dr. there and every time I went in he looked at me like I was some kind of freak or like he didn't believe me. He always minimized whatever issue I was having (and I am not a complainer, so if I'm there it's a problem!). Anyway I wanted to start seeing another Dr. there and the girls at the front desk said I had to call him and leave a message on his voicemail why I was changing Docs, of course I never did. But the Dr. I switched to is awesome and really trys to get to the bottom of things and you never feel rushed. Which leads me to...

YM that kind of behavior at a Dr.'s office really gets me! :grouphug: to you for even having to deal with that, I would be on the lookout for another practice and write to the office manager and let them know how you were treated there is no excuse.

Lesa glad Madison is ok, my son would milk that sprain for all it's worth too! Hope your migraine didn't get to bad, I hate those things.

On a good note, I finally paid off our package for November (actually 38 days) it was a few days late but all is well now. Now we have to go, since everything is paid for! :dance3: :dancer: :jumping1: :chewy: Just had to add chewbaca in for good measure! We are also on Fall Break this week so if I am not around much that would be why, the boys have dentist appointments in the morning at 8:30am (I wasn't thinking about fall break when I made the appointment! ugh!). Good night!!! :wave2:

Nicole I am on myspace mostly to catch up with old friends (because there are a lot of freakos on there) here is my page on there http://www.myspace.com/angelaestes My cousin has some weird artsy picture of herself (ie half dressed) that she posted on her site and now you can see that in my friends section that's a little embarrasing to me although it is a nice a picture. I'd love to add you to my friends on there!!

Hi Angela  You paid your package off :woohoo:  :dance3:

Hey good idea about the letter...something in writing is always good so it's clear what went on... :sad2:

Hey I did the same thing with the appts and fall break....except I made one for me thinking I would go after I dropped the boys off...hello no school (insert head slap here). I would reschedule but this is a rescheduled appt for me.... :rolleyes1

Lesa....gald all is well with Madison's elbow...hope your head feels better. :goodvibes

lyzziesmom...good news about the phone interview. Is the job local? I'm going to google that ablation thing...I haven't heard about that. I have the neck/arm issues but I really don't know exactly what's wrong....besides pain and weakness. :confused3

Well I feel a bit better after venting today :teeth: then tonight I had a spa pedicure....DH gave me the  Probably won't have another one of those anytime soon but they are soooo wonderful. :cloud9:

Pozey, my husband had to enter a dessert contest at church for me because I ran out of time to make it. "I" won the contest and got a "Ladies of Lakeshore" apron. I had to take a picture of Chris wearing it, its too funny! He is glad he isn't alone.

Lizziesmom, that IS Tortuga Rum! Its my very, very favorite (especially coconut) and is now available stateside. Now I just have to find the store that carries it!

:cheer2:  :cheer2: Happy Annivesary Donna!!! :cheer2:  :cheer2:
Would have posted earlier this AM, but I kept getting an MSN search page for www.disboards.com :confused3

Tinkerbell_Girl, my myspace page is www.myspace.com/linleffel

YM, Doctors tend to tick me off in general...but the receptionist at our doctor office reminds me of Roz in Monsters Inc. I had to go in for my shoulder and when I got there she handed me an invoice. I told her it was paid, she said it wasn't and refused to let the doctor see me until it was paid. So, I go home, call Chris, he calls insurance and sure enough it had been paid two months before. He called her back and then she called me and was suddenly the nicest person in the world. She had filed the payment for another patient! But, my favorite doctor story of all was my first "girlie" doctor visit in college. Now those are never pleasant and I was a little nervous going for the first time. So they put me in a room, I get ready and then an hour later the nurse pops her head in, realizes I am in there and freaks out. Now, it turns out they had a super emergency come in and it was just the only thing they could concentrate on (it was a one docter, two nurse practice) and they just forgot that I was waiting. I was only upset because I was freezing!!!

Night lovies!

I'm running a little late this morning. Let's just grab a cinnamon roll and be on our way!!! Be careful, they're still warm from the oven!!! :teeth:

YM, I would look for another doctor. I want them to be nice and attentive and take the time to answer my questions. I understand that they may busy, but that isn't my problem; don't overbook appointments.

Angela, congrats on paying off your trip!! I can hardly believe that our trips are a little over a month away!!!

Ok...I need to vent as this has been building all week. I took my DS to the allergy clinic last week to have some additional testing done so we can start shots. His allergies are only moderately bad on paper but they are indoor and outdoor...plus cover all seasons. He takes a bunch of meds and has mild asthma (due to his allergies). Our goal is to get him off the meds. I had requested input from his dr and they agreed to see us right after the testing to review the results(this is an extremely busy clinic).

The nurse that tested him tried several times to shoo us out the door but I stood my ground "thinking" there was a communication error. Finally, she came back (the third time) saying there was a communication error and that we would be seen. Well, the dr walks in and the first words out of her mouth was that she had two patients waiting and she didn't have much time (the nurse had already verbalized this too me but call me dumb...when do dr.'s have "extra" time). :confused3

About 90 seconds later her nurse opens the door and stares at me. Then about every two minutes she would open the door and stare. I'm not even sure how long the Dr stayed but we did chit chat about the allergies but I couldn't even tell me DH what we discussed becuase I was so disctracted by everone's hostility (I was clueless to some degree but a bit defensive ). In the end I signed the consents becuase we were already thinking about proceeding with the shots.

Funny part was that it took me a while to figure out it was humiliation I was feeling about the treatment...like we weren't a "paient" and I was being a pest for expecting them to follow through with what they agreed too. Not to mention that "thinking" your Dr is sharp and wanting her stamp of approval....is a bad thing? Now I'm just unhappy and not feeling comfortable with our decision...which is not black and white. :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

Help....please give me some feedback..I can take it  :confused3 :confused3
I am so sorry about your experience at the allergy clinic. You were not treated in a professional manner.

Now, I am usually a very laid back and easy going guy. But I will certainly let someone know when I am not treated professionally or receive the proper customer service. But I will do it in a calm, yet firm way. I would do a couple of things.....I would call the clinic and talk to whoever might be a manager. I would tell them calmly, yet directly that you are very displease with the manner that you were treated. And ask them where you could send an official letter of complaint as well. Be sure to be as detailed as possible.

Professional doctors should not treat patients and their parents in this manner.

Good to hear that Madison's fall wasn't as serious as it appeared initially. It's a scary thing when kids break bones........trust me.....I KNOW!! :rotfl: Make sure she takes it easy for a day or two. Then she will be right back up on that balance beam. :thumbsup2

Lesa - glad Madison's ok! sorry she got hurt, though.

Donna your cinnamon rolls look devine!

Morning everyone. Happy Hump Day!! :cool1:

Well, unfortunately, I .....uh, I mean DW......did NOT win the dessert contest yesterday. DW was shocked because she said there were a LOT of people who came and asked her for the recipe throughout the day. So she decided to find out who won and what they made. The winning dessert was an Apple Pie. Then, she found out that 2 of the 5 people who were judging the contest did NOT like cheesecake to begin with. So, we were kind of out of it from the beginning. Oh, well...... She also mentioned that this other guy she works with, that always brings up some wonderful food, made a pecan pie that was OUTSTANDING. Well, he didn't win anything either because some of the judges didn't like pecans. :confused3 Why would they pick judges who were so picky? :confused3

And thanks for the pixie dust for Colton and Chase. They did very will at the swim meet last night. Colton came in 1st in Freestyle and Butterfly, 2nd in Backstroke, and 2nd in the Individual Medley. He was disappointed that they would not allow him to swim in the Breaststroke (they could only swim in 4 events). Chase came in 1st in Freestyle and Backstroke, came in 2nd in Breaststroke, and his relay team won 1st. This was Chase's first meet and he was excited and I was very proud of both of them. Chase would have won 1st in Breaststroke, but he kept looking over at the swimming in the lane next to him!! So, I had to tell him that he needs to stop looking around.

I wanted to either take pictures or videotape the meet, but they were shorthanded for people to help be timers, so I had to help out. So, I was stuck doing that and didn't get to take video or pics.

Donna how did you know I love the cinnamon rolls (especially cinnabons!). :cool1:

I have sent friend requests to you ladies that are on myspace! Got back from the dentist and the boys have no cavities!! :woohoo: :woohoo: Connor even got the full mouth x-rays to see what teeth are in and which will be coming in. :cheer2:

Amber I know you told me where you all are staying but I can't remember of course!! We are staying at POR from 11/24-28th.

Pozey sounds to me like they need judges that are open to eating anything....so where do I sign up? Imagine someone not liking cheesecake? :confused3 Sounds like the boys did great at their swim meet, my biggest challenge is getting my boys to learn how to swim. Connor had a swim teacher 2 years ago and he went for 2 days and still remembers it, it was horrible on the third day he wouldn't get out of the car! And he really does love the water but the teacher turns out was a little more hardcore than he needed.

Everyone have a good day!
