lyzziesmom... that is awesome you have a date!!! I hope it turns out great!!! :grouphug: My goodness... maybe a new/BETTER job... a new guy...new house..what could be better :confused3 :cool1: That is SO awesome!!! :cheer2: we'll have plenty to talk about in Feb :woohoo: !!!

2x... SOUP...sorry, just practicing for the story you have to tell us in Feb :rotfl2:

I can't wait to take Kenny to the hockey game tomorrow night. I just made resv. for Bucca di Beppo  ohhhh it is so good!!!! 2x...you might like it. great italian food

Hi everybody... hope you have an incredible weekend!!!

Donna, isn't it nice to be able to tell your DH he was WRONG??!? Turns out this guy was just really shy about asking. Today he was kind of dropping hints left & right, things like "Oh it's been really busy today, too bad I don't have any plans for the weekend to unwind" and "I felt like going out for a drink last night but that didn't work out, and I still feel like it now but I don't have anyone to go with" and "I really need to get out more" and "what are you doing this weekend?" I decided I don't have time for this, so I just asked if he'd like to have a drink with me tomorrow (he said yes of course), gave him my phone number and told him to call me tomorrow to make a plan. It was actually pretty funny, he kind of reminds me of that guy on The Office (the American version) who has a crush on the receptionist but can never work up the nerve to just tell her already!

The hard part was convincing my mom to babysit! She had to drag out my company's calendar with everyone's picture in it and have me show her who he is before she'd agree. Sheesh, it's like high school all over again. (For the record, her reaction was "What a cutie!")

Anyway, I think it's going to be pretty casual and comfortable... I'll let you all know how it goes!!

Linda, you'll have fun at the hockey game! I am not a sports fan at ALL, and I went to a couple of Panthers games when I lived in FL and it was a blast. I was totally lost, but it was still fun. I'm sure Kenny will like that much more than a day of shopping!!

Bucca di Beppo... yummy! We have a couple of those around here, I went to the one on the Plaza one year for a Christmas party. Very nice! Great, now I'm hungry. I hope my pizza gets here soon!

Ashley love the pictures!! Is that gray cute shirt the one you talked about before going on your trip? Too cute!

Lyzziesmom where are you going tommorrow? Oh can't wait to hear how it goes! :dance3:

Hi Linda! :wave2: Donna what are you doing today? :goodvibes

Alright got my nieces here and everyone is having fun! I'll check back in later!! Happy Friday!!

Ashley- cute pictures!
Lizziesmom- have fun on your date! By the way, how did your job interview go?

I read Visions of Sugarplums. While it was different I still enjoyed it a lot!! I love those books and wish there more of them. The love books aren't nearly as good in my opinion.

Hi, guys! Just catching up ----
YAY! Lyzziesmom's going on a date!!

Michele congrats to Matt's team for winning another game!

Ashley, I really enjoyed the new pics -you guys are just too cute!

Linda - I hope you guys have a great time at the hockey game tomorrow - hockey is fun to watch live.

Pozey - 48???????? EEK! brrrrrrrrr

2x2s, hope you're feeling better!

Angela, welcome back!

So I finish up Plum #8 tonight, and had an email from my library saying that #9 came in for me -- I went to pick it up and it was closed!!!! I was planning on curling up on the couch with a glass of wine and my book.

Ashley, I LOVE your Snow White shirt! I have never seen one like that and Snow White is my favorite!

LizziesMom, congrats on your date!!!!

Linda, I am not a hockey fan but my DH and sister are huge hockey nuts...they drag me to games whenever they can and it really is a lot of fun. Plus, you get to eat "game food"! Of course after Bucca (my favorite of all italian restaurants) you won't be hungry for anything...but you have to have hot chocolate and cotton candy on pure principle!

Ugh, I have been working on a floor set for work for hours and need a break! Too much new merchandise and too much old clearance they don't show anywhere! Must have chocolate! Dark Chocolate M&M's are calling my name from the kitchen...

And on another note, my wonderful Minnesota Twins were eliminated from the playoffs today. It's a sad, sad day! But, I did get in an hour workout this morning and there is a bunch of Law & Order SVU on tonight!

Hi, Linzey! So you have friends in musical theatre?? So - any tips, pointers, whatever - would be appreciated!

Hi everyone

Thanks everyone for the compliements on the pics. I actually have tons more  But I won't bore you with those!!!

I got that Snow White shirt from Delia's. They have a couple different Disney shirts that I've never seen anywhere else! I got a couple different shirts from them, and got tons of compliements from the CM's telling me they'd never seen them before. They have a catalogue, but I got mine from the store in the mall. Let me look and see if I can find it online:

mommyintn: Yep, that one shirt is the one I was asking everyone's opinions about! Jeremiah really liked it too.

It got cold FAST here so Jeremiah took me to Old Navy tonight and got me some warmer clothes as an early Birthday present!

Donna and Lyzziesmom, Do you guys have anything planned for your birthday? Jeremiah has something planned but its a surprise.

Plus, I went to her website and it had tons of fun stuff including a link to a their store that sold "Plum Crazy" t-shirts, RANGEMAN t-shirts, I  Morelli t-shirts/fleece and fitted ...well I can't remember all the choices. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Hi, Linzey! So you have friends in musical theatre?? Any advice to give my DD on what to do/what not to do to prepare for continuing education and a possible career in the field? She's not had a BUNCH of dance, but has had some ballet and jazz - her primary strength is vocal music. Dance comes very quickly and easily for her. She's studied for 2 years with a vocal trainer, and in her 3rd year of HS drama. She's been in the main HS's spring musical ever since she was a freshman (she was the only freshman her first year), and has been in two big budget local productions so far. Nothing major, just ensemble, but considering she's just 16 - and was only 15 when she did the two big local shows. Rumor on the street is she's up for the lead in the spring musical this year - this is her jr. year. She's (IMO) a gifted girl, and since I've got a background in music I have to be very honest with her about the odds of a career in the field - at least she doesn't want to be the next Brittney Spears.... I'm encouraging the child and supporting her in what she wants to do, but at the same time steering her toward a backup plan so she's not just some talented kid with no skills and no job when she gets out of college.
So - any tips, pointers, whatever - would be appreciated!

Well, its a VERY difficult world to break into...and I personally think that the theatre business is harder to get into then the music business...mostly because of the quality of singers that seem to be getting recording labels lately. One of my college friends was the lead or supporting lead actress in almost all of our mainstage productions and is incredibly talented with the most amazing and versatile voice imaginable...and she has been in New York for two years trying to make it. Another friend had some parts in soap operas and modeling ads and gave it up because of the pay and the hours.

If she is serious about it then I would really suggest a double major in college. Her passion and something practicle that she enjoys and can do in the mean time. Also, pick a university that has a musical theatre program, not just a theatre and a music program. Obviously she can try for NYU, UCLA, Yale Drama, etc but Belmont University in Nashville has an excellent program, as does Cal Arts.

Get her started in some summer programs. There are several universities that do theatre camps for high school students every summer, many even award scholorships to the programs. Also, have her start picking pieces for her college auditions now, so she has a large repertoire to draw from.

As far as dance goes, jazz and ballet are the most important. They teach a lot of the basic moves necessary to perform in musical theatre, but Lyrical dance is also a great class to take. It teaches a lot of expressive movement and is a less structured and much under-rated type of dance. Some dance studios will even offer "Dance for Theatre" type classes. But, if I had to suggest one class for her to take I would recommend Ballroom. Lots of musical theatre has specific dances involved in the production, and knowing how to do them will give her an edge in auditions.

Hi, everyone!!! I've been sitting here so long I'm about ready to fall asleep!!

Ashley::I checked out the Delia's website. I don't think we have any of those stores around here. Did you notice the one with the owls? So cute, I might have to order one or two. How is the fit? Do they run small?
My family is going to our little sports bar called AC's Pitstop. We call it our neighborhood Applebee's!! I think tomorrow we are going to St. louis area and going to do some shopping and eating out(but don't know where).

YourMajesty::I don't think DznyFan is going to share. :sad2: We may have to get our own!!! :teeth:

lyzziesmom:: I'm glad your mom is babysitting and that she approves of your date!! It's kind of cute that this guy was shy. Sometimes they just need a nudge. :rolleyes1

What's everybody up to this evening?

Donna, they do run small, so I would order the next size up. Your plans sound great! I hope you have a great time. pirate:

Donna...I'm about like you...almost falling asleep. I've even moved to the bed. :cloud9:

This is what I get for complaining this morning about clients dictating my schedule--- my last two facials---one cancelled at the last minute because she was "throwing up"---ick and the last one just didn't show up at all and got snippy when the front desk called to see if she was coming and to remind her of the cancellation policy (which btw is NEVER enforced :furious: ). So long story short, my whole night fell apart. I was so tired anyway. Oh well, that's the way the cookie crumbles.

Lzyssiesmom----a date?? You sly devilina you!! I'm green with envy!! :smokin: Wow, you've had some week, haven't you?? Have fun----details, details. See, there is a reason you were not able to make it to St. Louis this weekend. ;)

Donna----expensive taste in the ol bubbly--missy. Pass that over, please.

YM----oooohhh, I want a Morelli or RangeMan t-shirt!!!! Is it Janet Ev. website?? I'm serious, I want one!!

Ash---lovely pics!!!! Post away, sister.

Donna and Ash---what are your plans for your b-day weekends??? We know part of Lyzziesmom's. :)

Linda---I can't believe you remembered SOUP. You had me for a minute----I had a perplexed look on my face, then the lightbulb flickered a bit and then shined brightly. I busted out laughing. Good memory. I'm impressed.

HI to all the cliquers.
