I am planning on using this service for our August vacation, basically because we will have a baby with us on this trip, and there is just too much stuff to pack! I was just wondering if anyone has used it, and what did you think of it? Was everything you ordered delivered? We have a grocery delivery service around here and some friends have complained that a lot of things were missing. Also, when should I schedule delivery? Will the WL keep it somewhere for me if I am delayed for any reason? Thank you!!!:flower3:

I'm sorry! You're right...it should say "GardenGrocer.com!!!!!!"

We used gardengrocer in December...we loved the service. Not one problem at all. I placed my order about 3-4 weeks before we arrived. Bell services did hold our order for us-we were at the pool when they arrived-no problem, we called bell services and they delivered to our room.

We were 100% satisfied. We would order from them again.

We ordered from them in December too! They were great. Mike (I think?) called our cell when he was on his way and we met him at our room (we were in the villas) he unloaded everything into the fridge/freezer or on the counter. I had a checklist of my order and he went over all of it with me! I'd say book as soon as you know what you want because they're very popular and some peak times fill up quick. But in August I'd think you'd be ok at 2-3 weeks out.

We used garden grocer for our trip last May and again this past April. They are great. We put in our order about 2 weeks ahead of time and had no problems. They are really customer service oriented. They had no problem finding extra items that we listed in the comment section of the order form and everything was delivered as promised. A++ service:thumbsup2

I whole heartedly echo the other replies.......We used them last November for the first time.......Excellent customer service - even ordered some "odd" things in the comment section.........I also recommended them to friends last month; and they were thrilled with the service.......IMHO

Never heard of greengrocer.com. I checked out that URL and it's not a grocery delivery service.

I think the OP means www.gardengrocer.com. The owners are Brian and his wife (who's name escapes me right now).

You can arrange with GG to have your stuff delivered directly to WL's Bell Services; that way, you won't need to "schedule" a delivery time. Bell Services will keep the cold stuff cold for you.

We used the service last Sept. 06. We were really happy with the service. Every thing ordered arrived. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived, so we went to the parks missing our scheduled delivery time. Guest services held onto it for us and delivered it to our room along with our luggage. The refrigerated items were stored in a cooler. Very good service. We will use them again in July.

Yes, we used www.gardengrocer.com in July at the Polynesian and are using them again this July. We even got extra water for free because Brian said the cases of water delivered to them had extra bottles in them. This was one of the smartest things we did! We saved tons of money.

We used them last year and will be using them again this year. In fact, I think I will be placing my order tomorrow for our July visit!

They were fabulous! Highly recommended!!!!

We used them July 2006 and January 2007. I have already placed our order for our June/July trip. I think they are a terrific service!

Used them in December for the AKL they were supposed to deliver my food on THursday they day I arrived they failed to deliver it.

we used them last November while staying at POR. The only problem we had was that they delivered our order to POFQ instead. It took alittle while for Bell Services to figure out what happened. DH ended up driving over to the FQ and picking it up himself. Having said that, we are going to try them again this October. I've looked on the DISboards for reviews of the GardenGrocer and it seems that about 95% of the people have been very pleased with their service. So maybe we werew just among the "lucky" 5% to have something go wrong.;)

We used them in February with no problems. Groceries were delivered to our room at Pop with our luggage.

I just placed an order with them for delivery this Saturday to CSR. Hopefully we'll have the same great service. I prepay with my cc so I don't have to be around when they deliver. If you order alcoholic beverages, you will have to be present at delivery.

Ed...did it ever get delivered??

I arrived Thursday and through a series of events, my youngest getting sick, my DW meds not getting delivered it was always lower on my list of priorities.
We played phone tag a few times while I was at the parks and I was under the impression that they would leave it with Bell services .
They finally left it Monday while I was at EPCOT. I got the message on my room phone Monday night, I left on Wed. I never picked up the food, I couldn't eat 6 days worth of food in one day.

What do they charge to deliver the food??? We usually eat breakfast in our room...would it be cheaper to just buy stuff from the hotel shops, eat breakfast at a CS place or have food delivered??

When we ordered last November the delivery charge was $10. But I think I recently saw here on the DISboards that someone said it went up to $15. :confused3 I haven't really bought food from the hotel shops to be able to compare prices. But as for eating breakfast in our room vs. a counter service... we typically aren't big breakfast eaters, so a quick bowl of cereal, bagel or piece of fruit is enough for us. And since we like to get to the parks at opening when crowds are at a minimum, we don't want to stop and waste time in line at the counter service places. But that's just us.

Last time I checked, I believe it was about $12 to have the groceries delivered.

Another question... I have read that some people have had beer or wine delivered. :drinking1 Does garden grocer do this? If not, who does? Also, I am thinking you have to be there to show ID when they deliver?

:thanks:

Garden grocer does deliver beer and wine. You just have to be there when they deliver it so they can verify you are over 21.

I think GG is much cheaper than the resort shops. We've used them several times and already placed our order for our June/July trip. I even order all our shampoos and stuff so I don't have to worry about packing them.

We used GG last week for our stay at Windsor Hills. We had great communication with the company initially and they delivered our order at the designated time. I was disappointed, however, with several of the products that we received.

They substituted several items without notifying us - we were given generic chocolate bars instead of Mickey Mouse ice cream bars, salad dressing was reduced fat (not what we ordered), the wine we ordered was substituted with another brand (one that gives us headaches!), and the bananas we ordered (We specified some "green" and some "yellow", were yellow and spotted.

When I mentioned the discrepancy between our order and what was delivered, the delivery guy just stated " I don't do the shopping." I asked him to pass along our complaints, however we never againthing from GG. We tipped $40 when we placed our order, so I was hoping that we would receive good service by our "shopper".

Although it was very convenient to have groceries delivered, we ended up having to still run to the store to get the items that were incorrect in our order.
