I am looking for holiday scents but would like to purchase only the one that smells the strongest.

Of those choices, I would have to go with Yankee Candle. Way pricier than the others but well worth it:)

I like the old fashion method of spices on the stove on low. Adds moisture, heat, and great smell to house.

Bath and Body Works, wallflowers...I know you didn't mention that particular one, but you can order them online, they always have them on sale and will prob have a good deal for Black Friday..I know I have some xmas tree scented one (cant remember the name) and the whole downstairs smells like xmas... I also love the creamy nutmeg

Yankee Candle! MY mom used to make hot cider in the crock pot on low, that would make the house smell wonderful.

Don't go with yankee, I know they are popular but, in my experience, the scents are inconsistent. You can buy a candle and it smells great and then buy the same fragrance and you can barely smell.

I would go with white barn from bath and body works or try Villiage Candle, Village doesn't have stores, they sell them in card and novelty shops or go to the website I swear by those candles.

You didn't mention this, but I've found the strongest scent of
all comes from using a scentsy or scentsy knockoff electric warmer with
the wax cubes that are $2/pack at Walmart. I think they are BH&G
brand and they come in a whole lot of differwnt scents. I love most
of their holiday scents like apple pie and sugar cookie. I only melt one or two cubes at a time because the scent, while very nice, can be overpoweringly strong.

I agree! Scentsy or the Walmart better homes and gardens version. One pot with a couple cubes smells up the entire house!

Yes! I've tried everything out there and this has never disappointed. :thumbsup2

::yes:: Bought mine last Christmas and love them.

Only thing I found that lasts and has strong scent is Bath and Body works candles, those things are awesome. I have a bunch of scentsy stuff but that smell fades quickly.

I agree with this poster! I bought a new scent yesterday, all I did was put 1 cube in the warmer , it's not even turned on and the scent is all thru the kitchen!

Im a yankee candle girl but to me glade is by far the strongest scent, one cube works through the whole house. If you call there company they will mail you a book of coupons:)

I agree with this!

I like the BH&G wax tarts from Walmart, too. My favorite scent is Twilight Woods.

Another suggestion: in a saucepan on your stove, put water and spices (I like cinnamon sticks, whole cloves and star anise -purchased at a big lots type store for cheap). Add either apple slices, orange, lemon or lime peels and simmer on low. Add water as needed so the pan doesn't boil dry. I leave this on all day sometimes, and it makes the whole house smell nice.

Do you have any local craft fairs? I would try to find someone who makes their own, as that is what I have most luck with . I have a friend who makes her own soy candles. Had never tried them, mainly because I always had Yankee Candle in the house. I bought hers finally, and they not only smelled stronger, they lasted longer too. (I use the melts) Here is her website if you are interested, emilyscandlesandbath.com

I used to be a Yankee Candle fan, but since we moved and have high ceilings and a larger room it doesn't fill the room with fragrance. I have now switched to the Bath & Body Works candles. They smell fantastic and have sales 2/$22 often.
