I just now read about the Keurig and I now I really want one for my bday next month. I heard how everyone was getting them last year but I didn't know anything about it. I used to have the Senseo one and didn't like it. I had no idea the Keurig pods already had a filter in it, unlike the Senseo pods where you had to change the filter if you wanted to make tea. So I wondered if you had the Keurig, which model you have and what are the pros and cons. My sister said the office she used to work at had one and she didn't like it, said the coffee didn't taste fresh.

I'm the only coffee drinker in the house. My dh very rarely will have any (unless I make the moose munch from Harry and David). One of my ds's would probably like the hot chocolate pods. Thanks so much in advance for your reviews!

I have a Keurig and I LOVE it!!!

I have the single serving Keurig machine... it makes one cup at a time and doesn't have a chamber for holding water, so you must add the water with the K-cup each time. TOTALLY not an issue, since you must add a new K-cup with the other models anyways, and I am not keen on the idea of water sitting around. I have a gallon of water at all times in the fridge, and I just add from there.

It takes me a total of 30 seconds to have the thing ready to go. I usually set it up, brush my teeth, and it's hot and ready.

The K-cups I buy are from either Bed Bath and Beyond or Kohls, because at any given time, I usually have a 15-20% off coupon, so it makes a box of 18 $7 or so.

I am also the only coffee drinker, and I hated the cleanup of a coffee maker for only one cup, so this is ideal for me. They also have teas and hot chocolate, so my DH doesn't feel too left out if he wanted to use it.

The only downfall is that it one K-cup really only makes one typical-sized mug of coffee, if you try to make more, it's really weak. Not an issue for me, I just have one cup of coffee for breakfast.

It IS a more expensive option, but the cost is worth the convienience to me.

They do also make a filter so you can use Folgers or other ground coffee to save money. Too much clean up for me, I LOVE the convienience of K-cups.

Enjoy!

I love it - the coffee tastes better than when I make it! It's great because dd13 loves flavored coffee, and I can't stand it. The kids like to make cocoa. Reallly, I love it!

we have one .. not the smallest (one cup at a time) size, but the next one up. It only does one size cup, but has a water holder. we love ours! :cool1:

Love my Keurig, only drawback is the cost, K-cups are more expensive than a pound of coffee and if you drink 2 cups in the a.m., you can go thru almost an entire box in a week. Amazon has great prices on K-cups (50 for app. $20) which is much better than target/BBB, or you can go to BJ's but not much of a selection to chose from.

Love the brewer, easy to use, great tasting coffee, lots of variety.

I have one. I use it occasionally. I don't think the coffee tastes all that great. Fresh brewed is much better.

DH is the only coffee drinker in the family, so it's perfect for us. We find that by ordering from Amazon Prime with free shipping and using their automatic reorder subscription service (which saves us an extra 15% off the prices), we cut the price of the Kcups down to about .35 each. We were wasting a lot of coffee before, since DH would end up throwing out 1/2 pot of stale coffee most days. Now, he makes only as much as he wants, and it is always fresh.

I also like that there are many different tea and cocoa Kcups available. Best of all, when I make tea or cocoa, it doesn't have a coffee taste to it like there used to be whenever I used DH's old coffeemaker.

We have the model with 3 different cup size settings and a 32 oz water container on the side.

I have the one that makes 3 different cup sizes and I absolutely love it! I don't use the k- cups often though. I grind my own beans and use it in the little filter cup. Let's just say if the first thought when your eyes open in the morning is.... COFFEE....then it's a good thing!

i have keurig. i love it. have had one four about 4 years now. i usually drink about 1 cup coffee a day and now im spoiled. have the keurig that makes 3 sizes of coffee with the push of a button, water tank on side. fyi- i make tons more stuff than just coffee. hot cocoa, tea, instant oatmeal, instant grits. If i am baking and need a cup of boiling water to set gelatin in i use it. I use my keurig all the time. i throw quite a few parties and guests never fail to be amazed by it.

Add me to the list of people who have one and LOVE IT! I do love mine! My Mom bought it for me last year and it is probably the best coffee maker I have ever owned. She came to visit me after she bought it and loved it so much she bought herself one!

I usually buy my K-Cups at Bed Bath & Beyond. They have a ton of different varieties and they have tea!

we have one and it has been great for us. I don't drink coffee and DH had a $100+ monthly Starbucks habit so the K-cups are nothing compared to that!

DH likes the coffee and the variety of types. He does a large travel mugs worth each AM.

We have two (one at home, one at our office). The home unit keeps short changing me on coffee (Just a few ounces then it stops) but the office one works fine.

I considered Keurig, but ended up with a Black & Decker Home Cafe machine, instead. The coffee tastes great.

I'm confused about your need to change filters if you want to make tea. If I want a cup of tea, I just run the machine without a pod. This gives me a cup of hot water that I can float a tea bag in.

Have you called Keurig about your home one? Their customer service is excellent.

We've had one for several years. I couldn't live without it now. LOVE it.

We have the Platinum Keurig and I LOVE it!! :lovestruc:lovestruc It makes iced coffee or tea and 4 other sizes of drinks. It's used at least once a day.

DH drinks hot coffe (I only drink iced) and he said the coffee tastes so much better. We also have the extra filter to use our own ground coffee.

It comes out to about 50 cents per k-cup, which is certainly more reasonable than Starbucks. ;)

I can't recommend them highly enough!

I got a Keurig Elite from Sam's about 6 months ago..I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this coffee maker!! I got it as a bundle with 80 assorted pods and a water filter. This model has a water chamber, and I love that feature too. I was apprehensive about spending so much on a single serve coffee maker, but got to try one out at the Hard Rock Hotel in Orlando. I knew I had to have one after trying it!

Amazon has a coffee "club" you can join and get free shipping and a discount on each shipment. I have gotten them for as low as $.40/pod. I love trying different coffees. The hot chocolate was not that great-Swiss Miss (or homemade of course) is much better.

I couldn't function without mine. :coffee: I have the next size up with the 32 oz water tank.

Another reformed Starbucks addict due to my Keuring. So breaking it down to under $1 a cup compared to that is a huge money saver. I just am always stocking up when th K-cups are on sale. Makes it easier.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!! :lovestruc

The best deal out there is the Keurig from Costco. It has 3 different size settings which some of them don't have. Also, it comes with 30 K-cups, PLUS an additional box of 90 assorted K-cups, PLUS a coupon inside the box for 2 free boxes on their website when you buy 2 boxes. On top of that there is a code for an additional 10% off and free shipping on the ones that you order. It also includes the permanent, reusable filter than you can use with your own coffee if you don't want to buy the k-cups.

I ended up with about 200 K-cups when all was said and done. I like having lots of types and flavors to choose from. I bought the spinning display carousel for them at Bed Bath and Beyond too and family and friends love to choose their indivudual coffees when they visit. :thumbsup2

Another Keurig lover here! It has turned me into a coffee addict as it's so darn easy. I have one at work that I share with my officemate and one at home. We got the one from Costco and it's great - has 3 sizes plus the iced beverage and a decent sized water tank and came with lots of samples.

I love trying all the different flavors and my favorite website is Big Cat Coffees as you can make your own mix-and-match boxes of 25 K-cups... 5 of one flavor, 5 of another flavor, etc. It's called a Purrfect Pack and is a great way to try a bunch of new varieties/flavors without risking having to buy a bunch that you might not like.

For the most part, the K-cups average out to 50-75 cents a cup and that's a great deal compared to coffee shops. Cleanup is easy and letting everyone pick their own variety flavor as opposed to brewing a whole pot of one flavor is a nice bonus. I don't really care for the hot chocolate cups as they're too weak for me. Same goes for the tea, unless I use the re-usable filter and pack it with loose tea leaves and then it makes a decent cup of tea. I like my drinks to have substance and a whole lot of taste... :rolleyes1

We have purchased 6 of the Special Edition brewing system.

I paid $35.00 for our very first one at Bed, Bath & Beyond because it was a return & did not have the free samples in it. Plus with my coupon I got an extra 20% off that!

Everytime someone (family) came to visit they loved it so much we went out & got them one for the holidays or birthdays.

My friend has the single serving one & loves it too.
