Who has spent the longest time at WDW using their DVC points?

Ok, so yet another question has popped into my head. DH and I are starting to figure out our next vacation for next year. We had originally decided to try a three day cruise using our points and using the rest of our points for a couple of days at WDW. We would have a total of 400 points, that is banking and using next years allowance. Of course, the other day I thought....Hey!....why not go for 2 weeks instead and put use your points for that!

We usually go for one week with our DD who is 8yo. Most of the time we are running from here to there trying to get everything in, hence making our vacation a little tiring. So my question is Who has spent the longest vacation time at WDW using their points? What have you gotten for your points? Someone convince my husband please that this would be a better idea, then using our points for a week cruise/WDW vacaction.

Thanks,
Scrufsmom

Our longest points stay was 12 nights in a 2 bedroom for the first 6 and a 1 bedroom the last six. That was just this past January. We had planned to have guests, but they backed out, so we had all that time and space to ourselves! We have APs, so we usually spent a couple hours in a park followed by relaxing at "home" followed by more park time and usually a PS ressie at another resort or Epcot. Would you believe it???? WE actually thought of something we forgot to do!!! The last day we did end up going to Millionaire-play it quite a few times.

Every time we go, we stay a litttttle longer (and STILL can list oodles of things we meant to do and never got the chance!) We started out doing 5 days, then last trip was 10, and now (even though my little counter at the end of this message says we're going for 10 days to BWV) we're planning on going for 12. We have 3 kids (ages 8,7, and 3) and honestly, they far prefer putting down some roots in a vacation. It just gives us room for relaxing down-time, and we don't fret about things we can't change anyway (like weather) because there's time to shift things around in the schedule. We would park hop one day, then chill out at the pool and DTD and maybe take in a dinner somewhere fun on the next day. My boys love DTD -- the fountains, the Lego place, some ice cream... what's not to love? My crew is really getting into the water parks now too, so we always have a day or two for that. ANd we like to pool-hop and check out other resorts. We're excited that we will get to see a new resort (SSR) on this next visit...

And we haven't set foot outside the WDW walls yet, either, so there's still sea world and US to try.

We just prefer long vacations. It takes us so long to get places (especially with kids along!) that we try to minimize the actual "travel" part as much as possible!!

My longest has been 8 nights but I would LOVE a 2-week stay. Like above poster, it takes us a long time to get to WDW, so I want to stay awhile once I do arrive!

I know there are couples here on the Boards with tons of points, who stay most of January at OKW. Wow... something to look forward to after retirement!

Last year, we stayed for a total of 19 nights. This year we will be there for 20 nights. We only go to WDW (not Universal or anywhere else) and it does not seem too long. I just love it there!

We allways come for 14 nights but that's because we're in the UK and it's a long way. Hoping to make it 22 nights in 2005 though as we're missing next year.

Last Dec. we stayed for a total of 15 nights....3 were with cash at the Polynesian though. We arrived on Thanksgiving for 2 nights in a studio at VWL, then moved to BWV for a week in a 2 br with my parents, then off to the Polynesian for 3 nights, and ending with 3 nights in a 1br at OKW.

It was really just a trip that snowballed. We started with the week with my parents...decided to add a few days by ourselves on the end. Then realized that dh had off Thanksgiving and the day after...so decided to head down earlier. In the end, we determined that dh would have to take the entire second week off anyway....so we added a few more days on points at OKW. This seems to happen to us a lot....but now we're running low on points and living closer to WDW...so making our trips long isn't as much of a priority.

On the other hand, now that we live only 3 1/2 hours away from WDW, can't figure out how to change the info thing, we have a shortest record I think. Last month we left home at 5 a.m. on Sunday morning, spent the night at OKW and were home for DD softball game at 8pm on Monday. Kids want to do that one more time before our ap runs out next week, just a quick blast of fun for 11 points, what fun.

Jeanne,
Just go to your profile...............then your user Cp...............than edit profile.........then edit your "location".........then submit modifications.;)

The longest you can stay is to use 4 years' worth of points just at the end and beginning of your use year....(2 years at the end of a month (with banking of a prior year) and 2 years in the beginning of a month, or 1year of banked points at the end and then 3 years using banked and borrowed points for the beginning of the month or vice versa) How long that gets you depends on your points total and the time of year....I think December Use Year goes the farthest....

I spend between 55 -60 days a year staying at WDW, it is over 4-5 trips per year with stays never less than 6 days and the longest 15 days. I like spacing the trips out so that every couple of months I am at WDW.

Last year, I used my DVC points to stay for 9 nights in Dec., followed in mid-Jan by 24 nights.

I have ressies this Oct. for 13 nights, then Dec. for 3 nights (plus 5 nights at the Poly paying cash), then my big trip--27 nights at the BWV mid-Jan into Feb.

That sounds wonderful! I wish I could do that!

We have gone for 2 weeks every year.since '93 However, this year, we went 1 week for Spring break and are going back for 2 weeks in 12 days. So this will be a total of 3 weeks or 20 days for this year. We went to DL and DCA last summer, so we have lots of points for this year. Even with the 2 week vacations , we always leave and didn't get to do something. We take it easy, and enjoy the fun of WDW from pools , DTD, being lazy, to parks etc.
