Just curious if anyone can share any info on seating if they have done the WOC picnic package? From what I have read if you have the sit down dinner you get a perfect spot that is not to crowded is this the same type of thing for people with a picnic package? How was the food? How was the view? How early did you go to line up? My DD is 2 and will be in a stroller can you bring that into the area? Any info would be great from people that have done this already. We are going in early August and plan to buy them when they go on sale.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for asking this question, I'm interested to hear what everyone has to say as well popcorn::

We'll be seeing WOC on Wednesday. We ordered the picnics. I'll be sure to come back and let you know how it went.

Hi there,
Earlier tonight I found were someone had posted a report on the picnic packages on the disunplugged.
Hope the link works
www.disunplugged.com/2010/06/13/world-of-color-picnics-a-special-culinary-quest/
It has pics of the different packs.

Thanks for posting the link to my DIS blog! :thumbsup2 I hope it is helping people sort out their WoC dining options. We really liked the show and felt that the picnic option was an economical way of "saving our viewing spot."

Looking at the Disney website to order these it appears that they have raised the price....it's $14.99. Also, the tote is limited to the first show of the night only (again, per the Disney website, though we all know sometimes real life is different, lol).

Was the reserved seating you get with the picnics the same places as those who ate at Ariel's or the other TS place? Or did they get better seating for their much more expensive meal?

The website has had this price up since the picnics started, but it is really $13.99 (12.99 w/AP discount). I don't know why they haven't changed it, but all the signs at the pick up location all say $13.99 and that is what they were charging. Go figure! :confused3

Ok, now I am confused....I'm not going until November so I can't order mine yet, but are you saying that as I go through the order process the price will change to $13.99? Or are you saying the walk-up orders are $13.99? According to the disunplugged blog walk ups are "subject to availablity" so by Nov it probably won't be much of a problem, but right now, it might not be one that you want to wait.

One dollar doesn't make a difference when it's just one or two people, but we'd be doing 11 people (so far) so that adds up fast.

Hmmm, good question. We used our AP discount and it charged us the correct amount $12.99, but I understand what you are saying. I wish I could give you an exact answer. I just know that all the signage at DCA says $13.99. If I find out better information, I will post. In the meantime, perhaps others who paid full price can chime in.

I ordered two online a couple of days ago and was charged $29.98, so they are definitely charging $14.99 each, didn't realise it was a dollar cheaper in the parks, that's not on is it? :confused3

Thanks for the replies! Is the seating the same as the sit down dinner or different? Was it really crowded in the viewing section? Thanks!

I don't know if this info will hold true, but MousePlanet is reporting that the picnic packages will definitely run through the summer, but after that is "based on popularity". :confused3

In general the picnic is supposed to put you in probably the Blue or Yellow sections. But some people in the early days (whether by mistake or by design) were actually put in Reserved Viewing with some people who had paid for the restaurant packages. So the viewing area is PROBABLY different than the Reserved Dining area--I certainly would not count on it being the same area. The appeal of the picnic is that you get guaranteed viewing for the show of your choice without having to wait in a long line for a FP that might not even pan out.

I THINK that only the pre-orders come with the tote bags, so that could be why the non-AP price for the pre-orders is higher than the in-park price.

We were in the blue area, but I can see how some might be sat with the dining package section. The CMs were clueless and we were told at one point that we were in that section and then someone else directed us to clue. Annoying, since we were at the front of the line at 7:30 and the clue section is the first section on the left. We were told to go all the way down (that's where yellow is) and then had to make our way back, leaving us with a decent view, but should have been much better. We were against the rail on the second tier, looking straight at Ariel's Grotto.
