We will be at WDW in Oct. and want to attend the Halloween party. I would like any and all information that you guys have about the party and your opinions as to if it is worth the time and money. I have researched it alot and have some info but would like all of your opinions and am sure there is more out there that I just haven't found yet! Thanks!:)

It is so woth it. I had my heart set on it but DH did not want to spend the $$ and I had to agree that it was alot of $$. However, we had soo much fun that DH (whom is very frugal) declared that we will go every yea. We will be there the 21st.

Do you have any specific questions I could try to help with?

We went for the first time when we were there in Sept 2006. It was the first Not So Scary Party of the year I think. I was so excited to go. We extended our trip 1 extra day just to go. DD(2 at the time) started sneezing about 1/2 hour before we went. While we were there it started to rain. By the time we got back to the room, she was running a fever and vomiting. It was a short experience and overall the rain really put a damper on it, but I would definitely do it again. Just for a rain free experence! What we saw and what we did was great despite all of the rain and a sick toddler.

It's Disney and everything deserves to be done at least once for the experience! Go and have a spooktacular time!

This will be our 4th year. We LOVE:love: MNSSHP. We dress in theme as a family. We have gone as POTC (2 different years) and Peterpan. This year we have a large group (about 12) going so needed a broader theme so we are going as 1920's gangsters/molls/flappers. CAN'T wait!!!! A lot of people dress up, most of the kids dress up some adults don't ( I saw a toddler snow white and her dad as prince charming- I was in awe- it was so cute!)
It's hard to tell everything w/ out specific questions. But one thing I will say is don't plan on it being a park day before hand even my 7 yo(he's 9 now) had a hard time keeping up toward the end of the night and if you spend the money and the time plus costumes etc. it's a bit irritating to hear "can we go yet?"

Also, if you are a pin trader/collector every night there is a different limited edition pin for the event. I always try to go on a night when it's Tink.:goodvibes

There are lots of locations for trick or treating and a couple "treat trail's" on the trails you can hit several locations and see lots of characters , the alice and wonderland one is my fave. The red queen is all mean and the mad hatter makes jokes w/ the kids or comments on their costumes and what not. It's one of the rare WDW times when you get to see characters w/ a little freedom not just standing in line for a photo op. They're not just wandering around the park but they walk around the treat trails and some other locations. Be sure to hit one of the trails at the latest possible time, they will usually (some CM's are cooler than others and in my opionion you want to steer clear of old ladies;) ) unload candy on you at the end of the night.

EVERYBODY gets to trick or treat so make sure you have bags for adults and babies too and you will score BIG! Also last year a lot of ppl were up in arms about the raisins they were handing out and you can pretty much say-Hey keep the raisins and they will give you candy. I went behind all of them (I have had a 1 yo w/ me) and said I'll take the raisins and my daughter had on the go handy little packs of raisins for MONTHS!!! Clever snack hording on my part I think.

Good luck making your decision. I hope if you go you have a wonderful time. Feel free to PM me w/ any questions.

We've been to the party, it's definitely worth the money. The decorations are awesome. I would say GO for sure.

MNSSHP is a must do. We are going again this year. Yeah, we weren't happy with the raisins last year either. But, it is so much fun. DH and I were pirates and DD was Belle. DD and I got our faces painted.
There is also a special parade.

We've been going for the past 7 years now and we love it. For us it is totally worth it. We love the decor, the trick or treating, the characters dressed in costume, face painting, dance and hula hoop contests, the headless horseman, the Boo To You parade & the special fireworks show. We always dress up..adults and kids. I didn't recall the raisins last year, but then I gave everything in my bag away at the end of the night and I just asked DD and she doesn't recall...but raisins wouldn't bother me or my kids. We are a bit nuts in our family, we do another park that day until about 3pm, then go to our resort and change, then we head over to the MK around 4pm or so for the party and we go all night. The day after the party we usually hit a water park so we don't have to be up so early and then we can recover! :rotfl:

Thank you so much for the replies, I just wanted to know everything and anything that you all could tell me about the party.

Another question-----

Do you have to go into the MK that day and use a park ticket or can you just show up at 7pm with your ticket for the MNSSHP?

Thanks so much!

You can enter the MK as early as 4pm using your party ticket. Officially, they tell you the party starts at 7pm, but they start allowing folks in using their MNSSHP ticket at 4pm.

If you love dressing up, or the whole halloween concept. You will love it. If your like me and could care less, you won't. I love disney, but I don't like halloween. But unfortunately for me my wife loves dressing our son up for halloween. So, I went, it was fun, he was cute, all the kids had a ball. But only go if you love halloween.

No reg. tix required, just your MNSSHP ones.

DH and I are traveling for an adults-only weekend during the opening weekend of MNSSHP. Would we enjoy it without the kids? Is the entire park open? And....is it packed?? We'd be going to the opening weekend (9/21)....

You would definately enjoy it without kids!! Last year we saw many adults without kids that were dressed in costume and trick-or-treating right alongside the kids. As far as crowds I would say that it is comparable to evening EMH's.
