Since I'm thinking of going to Six Flags Over Texas next summer, I was thinking of dropping by Sandy Lake for some coaster credits. Who has been? How is it? More importantly, will they let adults ride the kiddie coasters?

I haven't been there since I went for a band competition in jr high (about 15 years ago), but I don't know if they have any roller coasters at all. I seem to recall mainly just rides that are the type that can be assembled at traveling carnivals.

It's really close but we've only been there once for 4th of July fireworks more than 10 yrs ago. I'll ask around I don't know much about their rides.

Barry, I have never even heard of this park. If you have to get more coaster #s, Astroworld is definitely the way to go. Its run down and dirty, but at least it has Greezed Lightenin' and Texas Tornado.

Ok, I just checked the Astroworld site, what happened to The Texas Tornado or Texas Twister (I can't remember its name)? It was the best ride at Astroworld.

I had a company picnic there many years ago, but didn't see much there. Like others have said, the rides are more like carnival-type rides. Not even sure how many they still have up. It's more of a park w/ rides thrown in to pass the time while you picnic. I'd second a vote to go to Astroworld or Fiesta Texas before going to Sandy Lake for rides.

YUCK! I drive by there like every day. I haven't been since jr. high band compitions either but the place has really gotten really trashy and run down. I'm not really aware of them having any roller coasters. I know they have a mini golf course and some carnival rides but that's about it. I wouldn't even waste my time.
