Who has been on the 7 night N. European cruise?

How far from where the Magic docks is the ferry to Suomenlinna? Or did you y'all tour the Churches first? We are wanting to use the Helsinki Card but don't have to time to have it shipped to us and I am worried about where I can pick it up once we disembark. We don't have long in Helsinki, we are only there 6 hours!!
we took the shuttle the port / DCL provided, into town, then walked several (6-8) blocks (through a park) to the waterfront. The ferry to Suomenlinna is through the market - towards the Russian Church (Not the big building to the "right side" of the harbor (as you approach)). After our time on the island we came back and had a short walk to the Russian Church and then walked over to the Lutheran Church. Did not :sad2: make it to the Church of the Rock (we got tired - this was about 2 weeks into our vacation). We had planned out our day for visiting the island, the churches, taking the bus to the Sibelius monument, then the Church of the Rock and then taking the bus back to the ship. I think we could have done this, if not for being tired. I don't remember how long we had in port that day

Thank you! That helps so much!! And it is always nice to have something to plan to return to see!! I hope you get there one day!

1. Do they do the Royal Tea on the Magic?

Unsure, I did not look into this.

2. What shows are on the Magic?

Twice Charmed, Tangled, Dreams, a magician, and various celebs from Broadway. On the following cruise, they also did Be Our Guest.

3. did you watch any movies? Did you feel like you had time to watch movies?

Yes, and yes

4. Did you (or your kids) go swimming? What about the Aqua Dunk?

We went to the adult pool and jacuzzi but didn't try to Aqua Dunk

5. Is it pretty sure they will have the Frozen Deck Party? If so, what day was it and how were the activities surrounding it? How was the Nordic dinner?

We had a Frozen Deck Party, but unsure if your cruise will. It was on the Stockholm day. There were not many other Frozen activities other than a scavenger hunt, but maybe they were mostly for kids, so I didn't pay attention. They also had an adult Frozen after party that I was not interested in. The dinner wasn't anything special, and I normally dislike DCL MDR food.

6. What was your favorite port and why?

St. Petersburg because there was so much to see and do, and we learned so much.

7. What was your favorite excursion/activity on land and why?

Private tour with Anastasia Travel in St. Petersburg because we customized everything, had personal service, and did so much in one day. My husband could not believe how much we spent on a private tour ($850), but after the tour he said it was definitely worth it and that it was his favorite out of our 3 week vacation in 10 different cities/ports!

8. We are going to Amsterdam first. Anyone done this? How easy/quick is it to get to Copenhagen and the port? We are going to fly in Thursday morning from Amsterdam, but wondering where the airport is and how long it will take us to get to the port?

Never been to Amsterdam. We chose to use a taxi to the port because it is convenient for us and much cheaper than DCL transfers.

9. Has anyone done the Finnish reindeer excursion? Very interested in this one and wondering how good it is/was.

Yes! It was our only DCL port adventure, and we would do it again. The hike was nice and easy, the reindeer were friendly, and the hut with the fire was really great!

10. Are there princesses on board (this PROBABLY should have been my first question since it is CRITICAL that my daughter be back amongst "her people")

Yes, lots.

11. Did you do any activities on board that really stood out?

We did the couple's choice at the spa and loved the private villa, but it is VERY expensive.

12. Do they have the awesome dinner show at Animator's Palate?

There were two dinner shows, one with Mickey, and one with the animation. Both are awesome!

13. How much time did you spend on deck? can you watch the cities go by?

Not much, we saw some of the sail in for Stockholm.

14. Were there any adult activities that were particularly fun?

Do not miss Match Your Mate! We also did some adult crafts (tile coasters), which was nice and quiet and a good way to relax (with beer).

We were on the Baltic Cruise last summer 2016, and by far Russia was the biggest surprise for us....we loved it. We also booked through Anastasia Travel Group for a customized private tour (ours was 12 hours). It was so worth the money, because they have special passes to basically "cut in line" at all of the tourist sites. We never waited in line for anything, just walked right up (passed 100's of people in line) and went in. You cannot go wrong with that group....they were amazing. Look through all of the trip reports that people have posted, there is a ton of information.
