who has been in late april or early may?

we are thinking of trying for a quick get-away at the very end of april or first week of may. maybe 3-4 nights, and it will likely be over the weekend.

how are the crowds at this time...weekday and weekend? easter falls in march in 2005, so that shouldn't affect things. how about the weather? park hours?

Hi: We love going during the first two weeks of May- crowds are fairly light, weather is great too. We've gone about a dozen times during early May. We've never gone during April though. Just about any time is a good time to be at WDW!

I was at DW last week of April and first week of May of 2004: the crowds were non-existant. I never waited for any ride at any park. The weather was just fantastic. I wore shorts and t shirts for the whole time I was there. One evening at DTD did I need a light jacket, the only other time was for the Fantasmic show since the evening breeze can be a little cool.
It is a great time to be at the World. have fun

We went earlier this year from April 26th - May 4th and had a great time. Very low crowds, the most we had to wait was 20 minutes for TOT because we didn't get fast passes (already had FP's for RNRC). At MK we rode Buzz Lightyear 3 times in a row because there was no line. Some rides that are notoriously busy did have a wait, like Space mountain but we used FP's for that. The weather was great other than a little rain which didn't stop us. We wore shorts every day and brought a light coat for evenings or for rain but didn't need it at all. (we decided to buy ponchos for the rain though) I would definitely go at this time of year again in a heartbeat!

We have been going the first two weeks of May for the past few years, and I find it the best time to go!! The weather is beautiful, with little or no rain. Crowds are almost non existant. We love the Flower and Garden show which is at Epcot during that time period. Also, Star Wars weekend falls in there too!! I have always found a code for the discounted room. The only draw back during that time period is the parks are not open that late. Most close around 9pm. This past May, we did do the trial of the late EMH and that was great with some of the parks open until midnight.

thank you so much for your relpies! it sounds fabulous! now how can we not go?? my main concern was the weekends...is the star wars weekend very crowded in comparison to the rest of the days in late april/early may?

I've gone during this week a couple of times. The weather can be really hot, in the 90's, or more comforable. It seldom rained. The gardens at Epcot are especially pretty and festive at this time. The crowds were managable, some waits and heavier than it had been in the fall, but that was long before Fast Pass and also long before F&W festivals and other fall attractions. (I don't think the crowds in the fall are as skimpy as they used to be.) With Fastpass, I think you'll breeze through the lines and have a great time with ideal weather. The only drawback was staying at the All Stars because of the grad nights. As you can imagine, budet-minded teens congregate at the budget hotels. I'm a light sleeper.

we'll be arriving on 4/22, leaving 4/30. The only thing that I think is happening over these 2 weekends are grad nights. Does MK close early on those night. I think it does. Also the 1st week of May might be a little busy next year for the kick off for Disneyland's 50th.

We went two years ago May 5-12. It was very light crowd -wise except for MK sometimes. There was this heat wave, though, - upper 90's every single day. We weren't there over a weekend, we toured during the week. Yes, there was a grad night that Friday and MK closed early. I would go again at that time in a heartbeat, but the girls can't miss school anymore so we're going June1st. Have fun no matter when you go!

i'm pretty sure that new york & maybe new jersey have the last week of April 05 off for vacation so i don't know..maybe you'd be better off w/ the first week of may. i went the 3rd week of May a few years ago..it was quite warm..in the upper 80s/low 90s...w/ long lines at Test Track,Space Mountain,RnR Coaster...otherwise light to moderate crowds. Early May should be lighter re: crowds..i think when i went that some schools had already let out for the summer. have fun.
